    Beautiful I love the technique but I have a stupid question what kind of vinyl did you use I'm new to all this and trying my best to learn I'm sure you use a circuit but I haven't gotten one of those yet and when I do I'd like to know what kind of vinyl to use

    • @ashleygdesigns7671
      @ashleygdesigns7671  Před měsícem

      I did use a vinyl cutter. And I used 631 or temporary vinyl. Any brand would work, and it doesn’t have to be pretty, since you peel it off and throw it away. So something inexpensive would work great!

    What do you call this wrap design??? I love your tutorials. You explain things very well. I'm new to the vinal machine, and have looked for this design. Just not sure what to call it

      Tooled leather. If you search for a tooled leather svg or pattern on Etsy, you will get a list of tons of options.

    Thank you for the great video. Can I ask you how long you have been using counter cultures epoxy? Have you used any other product before them?

    • @ashleygriffith78
      @ashleygriffith78 Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Misty, I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
      I have been using Counter Culture epoxy for about a year and a half. I started out using Amazing clear cast. I had no issues with it, and liked it. I have also used Faux Rizzle resin. This one just didn’t work for me.
      I like CCDIY the best, I live in Alabama, and the humidity here is pretty bad. I have not had any issues with curing, or fish eyes. It’s just my preferred epoxy. Plus they have a lot of other great products, fast shipping, and the best customer service!

    How long did you let the butterscotch paint dry before removing the vinyl?

    • @ashleygdesigns7671
      @ashleygdesigns7671  Před měsícem

      It dries almost immediately, so as soon as you are done “playing” with the wood grain pattern, you can start to remove it.

    what did you put over the vinyl before you used the alcohol ink?

    • @ashleygdesigns7671
      @ashleygdesigns7671  Před měsícem

      Matte white spray paint from Rustoleum. You could use anything though, acrylic paint, anything that dries matte.

    Do you let the alcohol ink dry before weeding your vinyl off. I’m following ur video to make my first one

    • @ashleygriffith78
      @ashleygriffith78 Před 3 lety

      I do let it dry. But it shouldn’t take that long to dry. I usually only have to wait maybe 5 minutes. Usually long enough to wash my brushes out.
      I do however wait at least a few hours before I epoxy. Most of the time I wait overnight!
      I would love to see pics when you finish it!

    Do you sell the actual vinyl sheet because I don't have a cricut to do this technique?

    • @ashleygdesigns7671
      @ashleygdesigns7671  Před měsícem

      I don’t sell cut vinyl myself. But I bet if you searched for tooled leather vinyl cut pattern, you could find someone who does. 😊

    I tried this … but used permanent vinyl and was left with such a sticky residue….so removable vinyl?

    • @ashleygriffith78
      @ashleygriffith78 Před 3 lety +1

      I did use removable vinyl. And I also tried to work quickly. So that the vinyl wasn’t on the cup too long. I wouldn’t leave it in overnight. I think the longer it stays in the more bonding occurs, even with removable. In my experience.

    You don't need to clear coat before epoxy?

    • @ashleygriffith78
      @ashleygriffith78 Před 3 lety

      I don’t normally. I usually wait 24 hrs before I apply epoxy. And I haven’t had any issues with the alcohol inks turning green or different colors.
      If you want to epoxy right after, I would definitely use a clear coat.
