It almost cost them the game at the end. Where they stopped being aggressive and went the safe route.

Arkansas State had a big chance of winning at the end too picky in the offsides not really the right call. Call will haunt them for a long time.
It was offside. Which rules don’t apply at the end of games?
Even if it wasn’t offside the flag was thrown right at the kick off of the onside kick. The NIU receiver saw the flag, so them rumbling that was the result of the flag. Had the flag not been thrown there would have been no fumble or Arkansas state recovery. Also the ref was right there. You can’t tell me the tv cameras with all kinds of distortions have a better view than the ref who is four feet away from the actual offside.

Refs did not decide the outcome. Niu had to miss two easy field goals for Arkansas st to even have a chance. The better team won

Watched this one on mute. Woman announcer was very shrill and annoying.
Its crazy. Arkansas State looks like a normal team when playing competition around their level. But OU beat them 73-0 first game of the season. The gap in power between G5 and P5 is ridiculous.

Women doing play-by-play football announcing is exactly like a white male over 50 doing play-by-play for child delivery, practical PMS techniques, and methods for dealing with menopause. It should never be done. ("No standing" is the legal term for it.) Totally detracts from the game. Congrats to both teams who made it worth watching this game.

While I generally agree women should never commentate sports (or play sports for that matter), I actually don’t mind this woman announcer, apart from a couple cringe remarks like when Woodill scored the touchdown. Her voice reminds me of Beth Mowins who I’m really “nostalgic” for when she’d call Big Ten games

Literally, nobody cares about college football anymore since an undefeated FSU was passed over for teams with a loss to compete for the national championship. I hate FSU. But college football could not be more meaningless except for those profiting from it.
