How good was Andrey Arshavin actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most controversial and naturally talented players we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Andrey Arshavin who played for Zenit and Arsenal for most of his career. - Sport
Arshavin The Assassin....The 4 goals against Liverpool and the hand to mouth celebration lives rent free in my head.

Never forget it 😁👊🏾
Still remember this😊
Wenger supported so many bad players. I wish he supported Arshavin more. Man, I loved that guy at Arsenal. When he hit the pitch he was doing something which made opponents afraid of him despite being the smallest of the entire squad.

I don't understand why Wenger didn't try to incorporate him into the team more often.
Sadly that uncovered what a twat Wenger was....
Straight facts 💯
just one of those players the streets will never forget. i personally loved him as im an arsenal fan
Burned very brightly albeit only for a few moments.... Streets won't forget the man
Arsenal turned to Anfield with Arshavin and a goalkeeper.
As a Liverpool fan I cried, but what a performance, he was 10 men that day.
I remember watching the Euro 2008 when Arshavin shined, and Wenger was an analyst back then and he said: he is good at this game, but I don't think he is good enough for a big team or big league, not long after, he signed him :D

Yes. I was remembering that. Didn't know Wenger said that
yea just trying to play him down to keep him off radar
lol
Checkmate move lol ✔

That Euros match Russia Vs Holland, the way he had Van Der Sar’s soul leaving his body all match long.
Man, all these years I finally understood why he was always labeled "lazy". He wasn't lazy, I just felt that he has been through a lot and felt he has achieved more than he could ever dreamed of.
He was unhappy in the left wing.
I am a Manchester united fan and I love him so much. He was Arsenal's version of the Baby faced Assassin
Arshavin's quote about expectations is more elegant and concise. The question was provocative, like why didn't the team live up to them? His response was short and blunt:
*Your expectation is your problem* [not someone else's]
An instant classic. Really, in Russia we do use here and there, in an ironic fashion (or not)
i remember those first few games. Everyone was so sure that arshavin would be among the top players in the world. There wasn't even any doubt. I'll never forget that bullet he scored with barely any back lift. It's a shame he wasn't given more opportunities
As a Man Utd fan myself, I have so much respect for him.
This guy was a legend
As a Chelsea fan, I acknowledge Arshavin as one of the best players to ever touch the ball.
Steady on
Give over. He just about makes the second tier of top level players.
As a DIE HARD MAN CITY fan since 'THAT' goal by Aguero 2012 I can honestly say I've never heard of Arshavin???
for me he is probably not in the top 200 players of all time, let alone " one of the best to ever touch a ball"
@@maratonlegendelenemirei3352 man city fan that doesn't know football pre 2010? Not surprising
The legendary quote,”Like basketball, I couldn’t score 9 only 4 sorry.”
He said 90 idiot
I cannot forget the match. I was a high school student and liverpool's fan. The game went on, I was rooting for arsenal because of Arshavin. He was so attractive player even though he was opponent team.
His play style was unique.
He was something unique special.
I've heard that Anfield gives some damn incredible atmosphere and him able to do that in Anfield..amazing
Liverpool fans will always remember that. 🔥
Not even Messi did what Arshavin did in Anfield.
It's a library after YNWA
@@nightprowler6336 I get it Messi is a victim of his own success that's why u can't keep his name out of your mouth no matter what.

From Russia with love ❤️ that 4-4 game with Liverpool 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
He was phenomenal. One of my favourites.
Dear author. A little mistake. in match VS Netherlands Arshavin assisted the second goal to Torbinskiy and scored the third.
Just recently learned about this dude. Man if he had even more support and minutes, he would go down as one of the best for sure
He was utterly amazing on his day, a little genius and one of my favourites ever (I really wanted to see him at Barcelona, he had the style!)
He reminds me a lot of the Little Mozart (Rosicky), but he was the Little Assassin instead.
i can tell u put in a lot of work into these videos they are very good keep it up 👍
Again, quality content, on player I was almost forgot about, but I really liked. Good job bro, greetings from Bulgaria
really enjoyed this one, and the Pato video. wondering who else is on your radar...what do you think of Recoba? unique player, not in many minds or lost in the shadow of Ronaldo. could be interesting

El chino recoba what legend he needs to do one on Forlan too.
Or Ariel Ortega, Pablo Aimar or Andres D'Alessandro
@@willywonka7812 All great suggestions along with Recoba
@@willywonka7812 Ortega one of my favourite players growing up the guy was world class in his prime..but had a problem with alcohol.. reminded me of maradona was small but strong skillful and could just glide past players much bigger and stronger.. but alcohol addiction definitely effected him.. even tho when back at River plate he would still show moments of magic.. and aimar at Valencia was different class world class.. but Injuries effected him.. and the other his time at Portsmouth in a struggling team who were going to get relegated until he came to the premier League and was different class kept them in the prem single handily.. but had a weird Carrer went to Spain then ended up in Brazil .. but I seen him in the prem a tiny guy but so skillful fast could score assist every time he got the ball you new he could single handedly rip a team apart .. crazy there all river plate legends
Thank you for the beautiful videos ❤❤❤
Love your video, well made and tbh your voice and way to tell the stories makes it even better
Rise of A Legendary came conquered and disappeared in the air but not forgotten his Talent speaks for its Self
Wow, how intererestin video. Thanks again, mate!
Your content is just amazing man, 1 mil soon
He came he conquered and then he just disappeared lol but the short time he was around he tore things up that's for sure
Thank you for this video
"I cant score 90 only 4 sorry"
Is still one of the coldest things a football player has said🥶🥶
Amazing work on an amazing player
Just small correction, there are 2 clubs in Krasnodar city. One is Kuban another is Krasnodar. Arshavin went to Kuban, but you used logo of Krasnodar. Besides - great video!
i would love to watch one day a video about davids, he was a special, interesting footballer.
keep up the amazing work !
Edgar Davids right?

This dude was so electric but very short-lived at Asernal. What an amazing player.
Immensely talented player, honestly would have been happy if my club signed him instead of arsenal. the man had potential to be one of the all time greats just needed that bit of luck to land in the right environment which unfortunately didn’t happen.
Where Chelsea now 😂 hahaha were are top of tue table laa
Arshavin strives as free agent on the field, who can appear in any place. But Wenger assigned him to the left wing. Arshavin did not like that and the EPL was too fast of a pace for him. He needed to play right behind frontline from the center. He probably just lost his battle against the manager.
Keep up the content bro. Wanted to know about Matt Le Tissier.
As an Arsenal fan I'll always remember the excitement when we signed him and those first couple of seasons.
And that goal against Barcelona when he pulled up his shirt to reveal a picture of himself
Please do Sócrates, great player and one of the most interesting people in football ever. Love your videos!
It's been done, watched it last week
@@JayKay-jh9ek I know, he uploaded it after this comment.
requesting you to start a series on managers like Arsene wenger and jose Mourinho! would be really interesting
Another great vid you and raymar kill these videos !!! Team up sometime !!!
Good video. But surely you had to cover his goal at the Emirates against Pep’s barca, that was a big moment in his career
Amazing consistency and work ethic 🙏🙏🙏
I’ll never forget that 4-4 tie.
I thought his career is bigger as his name is mentioned from time to time as a great player, surely he left his mark across recent history
You are doing an amazing job Portuguese guy!
favorite player of all time
A few errors here. Youth club was Smena, best one in St. Petersburg for decades, likes of which produced Oleg Salenko. Final against was 2-0 so Arshavin wasn’t the lone assist man. And he went to Kuban Krasnodar, not FC Krasnodar which has been involved in European competition the last few years. Kuban were on their way down and got relegated that season and haven’t been in top flight ever since. Wenger’s biggest knock against him by many is the misuse or no use of Arshavin. It’s criminal that he wasn’t able to win the league with him. Easily Russia’s best player of the 21st century (doesn’t say much), and I think the 2nd best, after Shevchenko, from all the former USSR republics.
Wenger insisting to play him on the left, when he is no 10
Ozil also sometimes forced to play on the left
Yes, rosicky too.
Underrated at Arsenal
Enjoying it again
As an Arsenal fan, I fucking adored him. He was absolute magic to watch.
One of the greatest player of our time...yes he is an assasin
Great video as always! If you can do a video on Ivan zamorano or Marcelo Salas or chilavert that would be great!!

nice video and a great channel. I would love to see one about Giovane Elber or Marcio Amoroso, two top strikers that were both left out of the Brazil squad that won the 2002 World Cup.

He was a magician on the pitch, had so much charisma and is a true legend
When I was younger, I used to always hire him for my clubs in FM08 because he had 20 in flair and I thought that was broken or something lol. I started to root for him ever since.
When he was at zenit when they won the uefa cup Vs rangers.. that season he was amazing different class
my goat 🇷🇺❤️ thanks for making this vid
The way he was a menace, out of nowhere
Actually, the score in 2008 UEFA Cup final against Rangers was 2-0. Zyrianov scored the second goal right before the final whistle
If Arshavin was ever at Chelsea or Liverpool he would be an all time premier league great, class player!!
Arshavin Arsenal will never forgot u we love u bro had 92 dribble😢
He was dam good that i can say a true match winner type of player.
Can you please do a video on how good was Sócrates 🇧🇷
i remember that 2008 fiunal well, watched it as a rangers fan though so I remember it for a very painful reason and once again this year too lol.
Great video! But I have to do a correction he didnt score 2 in overtime against netherlands 2:1 torbinsky 3:1 arshavin ❤
I hope you make a video about Pepe playing for FC Porto
At 16 mil he was our most expensive signing back then. The market has inflated quite ludicrously
Incredible talent, misunderstood genius. Also, wrong Krasnodar, he played for Kuban Krasnodar.
What a guy😁
I remember that game against Liverpool when he scored 4 goals! That was a brilliant game especially for a neutral (But I’m a Liverpool fan)...........he’s the only player to score more than 3 let alone 4 goals against the mighty reds! (It’s a shame that he didn’t go on to do even more great things at Highbury with the Gunners.........but that’s football for you! (But at least he will always be remembered for those 4 goals that no-one has beaten since & probably won’t ever👍🏾⚽️
More than 3 means at least 4.

I'd say Haaland might score more potentially. He's crazy.
As a sweed I remember folowing my team at the 2008 euros and the tounament when pretty well, beaten Grece and nearly played a draw aginst Spain. We thoungt just beat Russia and were throu, It cant be that hard. And then Aljavin came in to play and we were shread to peices. Not a nice momory.
“Sorry I only score 4 goals” is crazy quote
Love him
Yesterday I was thinking what happened to Arshavin and then suddenly this is came in my recommendations
Hey love your videos. Have you done one on Yossi Benayoun?
Appreciated. Please do Abou Diaby.
i dont know if it was wenger or even just in my head but arsenal more than any other club seem to have and have had players who just look and play like real footballers with perfect technique and balance, henry pires bergkamp arshavin cesc wilshere van persie cazorla all so good to watch even anelka in his prime seemed like the perfect striker, pace acceleration and simple finishing is unstoppable at times, when players lose that initial yard of acceleration they are half as dangerous i think thats what happened to torres he seemed to just lose that yard that made all the difference to get his shot away as soon as he joined chelsea
Arshavin was beast
The game against the dutch stands out its like he just had double the fitness of his opponents. Extra time they dropped down a gear be he instead found a new one! 🤫
Ah you forget to mention his goal against Barcelona in a 2-1 win
The best
Another good day again
My childhood hero
He plays more aggressive and creative in midfield, but at Arsenal he is given a wing position
I miss this Arshavin and Arsenal
John was probably the biggest chad of a fan to help out and drop $1.2 million of his own money for a football player…
I met arshavin in the youth Russia team and was wowed. When I saw arsenal get arshavin I was so pissed Chelsea didn't grab him
Do one on yossi benyon
Seeing as he has died young girls ven age standards, have you done or do you plan to do a Reyes video?
Even in 2022 Arsenal struggle with that fax machine. You’d think they buy a new fax machine since in Jan they signed nobody at all
Once again there's a parralel story in hockey. The Quebec nordiques Snatch the 3 Stastny brothers from Czechoslovakia...the story would make a good espionage movie with drama(1 is left behind),car chase with the kgb,etc
Respect. Keep Up. Appreciate.
idea: do some old time , maybe domestic performance for countries like Romania , back when the Communism was implemented. So pick one from there before Hagi, were a few good ones and with the thing like if he plyed with this and that in his time or abroad or idk. kinda just do a romanian idea , maybe , even Mutu or Chivu or someone ? :) peace
i had hoped you would show his goal against barca
Pls can you do Pedro or Dani alvaes plss🤔🤔🤔🤔
RIP Arshavin :(
