They are correct. You MUST break the old pattern & walk away. It was so hard to do!! I had "one-itis" for this guy. I told him I cared for him & gave him space. I worked on me & I did the "abundance principle" too. After nearly 3 mos, he reached out. I didn't ignore him but I wasn't always available either. This allowed me to REFRAME our relationship as friendship only & no more FWB.. He sees I've changed alot. The space helped me love on myself, see better quality men & realize my guy friend needs to get his stuff together.

I am doing the same Chanel yet again as I value my 'self respect'. I left the ball in his court to chase me if he wanted me and he 'ghosted me' completely. So that showed me volumes. My rule now is no more booty calls or fwnb in future.

I think it's a matter of having respect for others and having self respect...I believe in golden rule to treat others as I want to be treated...so if I believe others are valuable, the I am just as valuable..so if I view others to be worthy of love the I too am worthy of it. We are all human, we all have flaws and we all have our strengths and weakness...I am just as good as the next person.
I've found it's easier to change my beliefs by changing my actions first. So, rather than repeat a new belief I want to believe, I act "as if" I am valuable even if I don't believe it yet. It's a bit like fake it till you make it and it's helped me change my beliefs faster than just repeating new thoughts or stories.

Hey, you guys. I am moving out of state. It's very stressful. It's time-consuming. My man knows this and he not only looked for a great apartment for me, but he has recruited his family and friends to gather up what I need for th he apartment. He is so thoughtful, he's getting a second vehicle for me to drive. He is making surre I have very little to do in preparing my apartment. He's thought of every last detail, including stocking me up with food. He's planning dates for when I get there. He always makes me feel special and loved. We are a team. I reciprocate to him by filling his emotional needs. I count myself blessed. We are best friends. I have known him since we were teens. We just started seeing each other last year. We are talking about a future.

If you tell everybody how men treat you like crap it's like telling them "hey I am a punching bag" and it's so off-putting
you can say it in other words but more attractive - "wow I just didn't have feelings for this guy but he was so nice to me". I tell that to my friends all the time, do not put yourselves down.

I agree, so many are so hurt and injured at this older age. I'm dating a veteran who absolutely is crazy about me, but at times he has severe ptsd, and goes completely off the grid. It is so difficult, because according to all these coaches, I should walk away, yet, I believe he has a legit reason, he's not just jerking me around, but sometimes it's very very difficult, and noone seems to know how to help....he's such a gentleman, and doesn't want me to see him suffer.

Helena and Matthew, I love you both! This week I have had a big paradigm shift about how to set rules/ boundaries/standards early by using the little scripts Matthew has suggested in his videos. A few months ago, based upon what I have learned about presenting myself in my dating app profile, I added that I seek "co-creating (ala Harville Hendrix of "Getting the Love You Want") a safe...committed relationship". I have found it so much easier to message back why I am passing on a guy's initiating message because I have written the word "safe"! 🤸♂️🤸♂️ From Matthew, I have learned that these rules/boundaries are creating a path both for me to easily follow and, hopefully, for men, to know how to behave around me. Setting my standard this way, I can easily find the Right words to hold my boundary. I am loving it! Thank you, Matthew! I wish I knew this when I was 20!!
Another script I started using years ago is " My personal policy is to...". I got this from working in Corporate America. A company often states hard truths and/or limits by saying things like "It is our policy to require a receipt for returns." Rinse and repeat as necessary 😉 This takes it out of the personal realm. "Sorry. Next!" sends the message backtalk and arguing won't work. Namaste to you both! 🙏
