I am okay with deck techs first because it does make for a good tension and you can see when a deck works and doesn’t and the power plays to watch for. And at least this time there was no spoilers. But I think that the no spoiler is key. It would suck to have game knights spoiled because of a single misspoken sentence in a deck review.

Oh gosh, I used to ask "why is everyone at my table killing me first" all the time.... I feel so dumb for remembering that ONLY because I came along way from Jimmy & Josh's advice and game knights gameplay!!! Extra turns is my fav, but any amount of content you guys produce is phenomenal 🙂
Aminatou is the best precognition deck with her "look at the top card of your library" ability, setting up Miracles and such, and it's on theme with her lore as well.
8:37 interesting rules thing. If a card stops you from untapping during your untap step it won’t stop you from untaping on someone else’s if you have unwinding clock you get your artifacts back.

But in my head Lavinia seems to be at her best not a prison/stacks deck but instead as a normally "fair" deck that gives symmetrical effects that are pseudo-cancelled out by Lavinia's abilities. Most of the cards like that, I suppose, are in green (such as hearbeat of spring because they can't effectively use the ramped mana unless they are playing a lot of small things).

I feel like the uses would be different though because in the Locust God deck it was comboing off, whereas this is just lopsided "ramp" not typically available in this color set.
Your segment on Vorthos is PURE GOLD, please continue with it! I enjoy learning how to make a super tuned deck, but my heart always calls me to play themed decks. By educating us on both card mechanics AND it's lore, I feel like you get to satisfy the both casual and spiky players. Your hard work is appreciated! Cast lavinia equip her with lightning greaves or cast lavinia and lotus petal to sac and cast show and tell 2nd turn. 3rd turn cast show and tell to put omen machine or knowledge pool or omniscience. Then hope for the best

Oh, okay. This is epic! I think playing defensive/controlling commander decks is less interesting than playing more aggressive decks. When commenting on the biggest difference on Commander and Canadian Highlander, one player said, "In Canadian Highlander, you try to kill your opponent." As for a commander deck with her, I would consider a beat down with counters for board wipes. I'll go theory craft one now for fun.
Also, I would build Lavinia non vorthos & non stax. I think she would be really fun as Tithe/Tax commander. All tithe and rhystic study effects that if they do something you benefit.
I loved watching this episode, cause I opened a Lavinia during the pre-release and went home and immediately built the deck. One card that I've added that was pretty mean, but I know I won't always get it, is Omen Machine. Enforcing players to cast things for free and then countering them from Lavinia can be a game winning situation, because unless people have removal in hand, I will able to get where I need to to close out and win the game. With this episode, however, I can begin to upgrade to either a friendlier game play or more evil one!
Deck Tech available before the Game Knight episode gives one a the most flexibility, whether studying the deck ahead of time to being able to look at the decks right after the 'cast.
So, since stasis and teferi's protection were both brought up this episode I thought I would share an.... interesting interaction the two cards have. Objects with phasing phase back in at the start of the owner's untap step, and stasis causes players to skip their untap step. So, if you cast teferi's protection while someone else has stasis on the board then all permanents you control will remain phased out indefinitely.
Just had this thought... and it goes back to a card Josh mentioned on an episode with Wedge a long time ago... "If you can't handle me at my Delifs Cone bad, you don't deserve me at my Paradox Engine good"

I feel this is the best home for dream halls! Its an optional cost, for everyone, so you get it for "free" and your opponents can either learn the hard way, or just cast them normally
I was trying to decide between a Tesa Karlov deck and a Zegana, Utopian Speaker deck, and then I watched this and decided to make a politics/no-cheating Lavinia deck. Great deck tech, and full of fun ideas, as usual!
During game knights it will be very interesting to see if stasis comes out from the Lavinia player and intruder alarm comes out from the Prime Speaker Vannifar player.
I just bought the Simic sleeves for my Momir Vig deck, they work like a charm for the amount of tutoring I do EDIT: If you're wondering why I commented about my Simic stuff on an Azorius video, it's because I was so impressed that I wanted to find the first Command Zone video that I could find to preach

Why wasn't Kismet at least mentioned with Frozen Æther? They're the same card. I agree that it's nice to see the deck and how it's supposed to perform before we see it played.

I added a few nasty combos to this deck. Ghostway into a Worldpurgel, or, Enchanted evening, into Aura Thief, then throw down a Cleansing meditation and steal the entire table. Also im surprised there is no Winter Orb aha.
If you don't want to play Stasis because of how oppressive it is, I would recommend Standstill as a replacement. It often has the same effect, giving you a few turns of peace, but it doesn't make the table hate you nearly as much as Stasis does. When your opponents are choosing not to cast any spells instead of being forced to, it feels a lot better.
I'd skip stasis, blatant thievery, and planar bridge, and put in sunder, dissipation field, and sunken hope. I'd also drop the extra turns, and put in eldrazi to close out the game.

Coming from the Game Knights episode. Lavinia is the entire reason Josh got mana-screwed. He discarded a Mana Crypt to hand size. Edit: This video didn’t mention the Emrakul Jimmy Planar Bridged.
Personally, I made my deck into a more “play fair” type of deck. I ran a bunch of stuff like Rest In Peace for other deck archetypes, like stony silence or Solemnity. Also have a win con in Stony Silence and Mycosynth Lattice. Just gotta get down a prison effect and have the Elocutors, meaning that they can’t tap for mana to pay for the prison effects, and I just win.
First card introduced: Stasis.

Tax effects are a nonbo Lavinia second ability. A tax effect will allow the opponents to cast through pool locks even.
