I've always had a fascination with so-called "one hit wonder" bands, because it always made me curious to hear what the rest of their stuff sounded like! So I would buy albums by bands that only had one hit for that very purpose. And honestly--the rest of these band's songs were often better than their one hit! In very rare cases, however, I quickly discovered why that band only had one hit, because the rest of their stuff sucked. But I was willing to shell out the cold hard cash to take that chance---and like I said--in most cases, it was money well spent! So I always tell people--never write off a band because they only ever had one hit! Those so-called "hits" were just what the A&R man at the record label wanted you to like. Always take a chance on the rest of the band's output and you may be surprised, that they may actually become your favourite band!

American rappers didn’t follow a trail blazed by Falco from 1984 song hit , they followed a trail of rap music starting back in the 1970’s, and probably before that . Y’all just made that up giving the credit Rap credit to Falco… If your going to make a claim of who was the inspiration for something do better research, and don’t create ish off the cuff..

Nick Lowe was a producer known as "The Basher" as he would bash em out with minimal interference from him. Hence why a lot of his productions for STiff Records (including The Damned's 'New Rose') sounded so raw and energetic. His song "whats so funny about peace love and understanding" got covered for The Bodyguard soundtrack and that one writing credit made him independent financially. Most of his songs have fantastic word play in them. "Marie Provost" was the song about a woman that got eaten by her dog based on a somewhat fabricated and sensationalised story in the book 'Hollywood Babylon'. Its worth a listen.

You need a better researcher... Trent Reznor should know better. Gary Numan wouldn't make that claim because Numan did not invent Industrial Music, his music can be said to be electronic post punk. If anyone 'invented' Industrial Music Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire would be at the top of the list. Also Gary Numan wasn't a one hit wonder.

Their lead singer was Stevie wright he did gymnastics and back filps on the stage during their performances.
He went on to do the song Evie part's 1 -2 & 3.
He has many great songs out as a solo artist.

Buffalo Springfield WASN'T a one-hit wonder though. Mr. Soul became another big hit for the band on their next album, as well as Bluebird, which was later covered by the James Gang. Their second album is regarded as one of the best albums of all time by Rolling Stone. Quite a few of their songs still receive airplay on FM radio. So no, I don't think I would really label them as a one-hit wonder.

As usual, US focus means several of these one hit wonders actually had respectable careers elsewhere. Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby and Big Country all had respectable careers here in the UK (lets face it, most artists when the make it big, have around 5 years of peak success, then fade and these all had this and even more). You know that annoying Nokia ring tone, that's Thomas Dolby! Nick Lowe was part of a 'collective' known as Rockpile, something like 6 big albums between him and Dave Edmunds in that fussy late 70's early 80's era.
