Well nice but there is no need to taking out the glove box.
With the glove box in place it’s kinda difficult to convey the message via video.
100% agree no need to take out the entire glove box. Otherwise this is a helpful video. Just take out the two screws next to the foot light, and then the four screws holding in the cover to the air filter and you are all set.
I broke my piston trying to use this method. Be careful!
I love watching your tuitional specially when you show how to do with Volvo. Thank you, you’re amazing lady
Agreed, no need to take out the glove box, the filter is behind it but accessed underneath
I agree, no need to remove glove box, I just changed the filter on my XC70 in 15 minutes
great video - I always watch your videos when it comes to service my V70 2002 (love that car though). let me just say that I just got to cabin air filter without taking out glove box compartment, just that little plastic cover with foot light. lucky me :)

Thanks! I only needed the first minute of the video the rest explained itself. Just replaced the filter and it was a piece of cake, just an awkward position to work in.
+Lennert V Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
I was about to say, she didn’t need to remove the glove box lmao 🤣
Not sure why she didn't put a clean filter in. Looked kind of dirty to me. Oh well, great instruction video. I almost said, to replace the filter. Then I caught myself.
Is there indicator in that filter to know which way to insert it?
Did you watch the video?
Of course it’s a pain
What about c70? Is it the same as the v70?
yeah, she took out the glovebox for no reason. don"t go by this video. just take the cover off and you have full access.
Yeah and also just start removing the tray that holds the filters. Removing the glovebox was a stupid idea and waste of time. Does not help at all.
How about a disclaimer that the glove box DOESN’T need to be removed as shown in the video - ????
Why is there room for another filter?
there is an other tipe of filter that goes in the other slot, why? realy dont know, but I had a difrent one that has som plastic parts and it goes in the further back slot
@@carloskeim Yes. Mine is this sort. It is a carbon filter with a plastic triangular piece at the top and goes in the rear slot. It may be because my 2003 V70 has AQS (air quality system). And again (for readers) you don't need to remove the glovebox!
P2 Volvos can use 2 different sized (thickness) filters depending on if the car is factory equipped with IQAS. If yours has that, you must use the larger "1.5 thick filter (that have the plastic part at one end). Vehicles without IQAS will usually have a tab over the larger filter opening so that you'll know which slot to use, but on those cars you can break that tab and actually use either sized filter without issue. If your CCM (climate control module) has an Auto/Manual button for the fresh air control, then you have IQAS.
Yeah thanks, I just removed my glove box for nothing! You should stick to selling parts and not how to replace them.
Why no one mentioned that there is two filters to be replaced not just that white one??
There are two slots, but need only 1 filter. Thick charcol activated filter (absorb pollutants) or regular thin filter.
Volvo engineers must be laughing all the time at how they position things.
You make it look easy but its really hard as hell to do.
Please replace this video. I starred to remove the glove box. There is no need to add this effort.
I really like Sue’s videos. This one was disappointing.
