  • Josh walks us through changing the cabin air filter on a 2002 Volvo S60. The procedure is valid for all P2 body S60s with slight variation. The filter used is OEM MANN CUK2855, with a charcoal activated filter element.

    I got the charcoal filter but the slot had plastic across the opening, as if to say nothing goes there. The original was the thinner filter in the first slot, I removed the little plastic blocker but the filter would not go in easily, ended up bunching up in the upper corner. Pissed me off, its hard enough for me to get down there. Now I got to go buy the thinner one. Which BTW was not in correctly either. Why does Volvo need to make this so complicated? I've done other cars and its snap. No not volvo, you need to contort yourself down under the dash and fight the two screws in the rear. Then bend the filter to make it go in. DUMB!!

    So, I don't have the special recirculate button. Do I go with out the charcoal?

    • @Eeuroparts
      @Eeuroparts  Před 7 lety +3

      You can still get a charcoal air filter, just make sure the one you use is for cars WITHOUT IAQS. The profiles/shape is different.

    Any difference in quality between Mann and Bosch filters?

    • @Eeuroparts
      @Eeuroparts  Před 6 lety +4

      Since Mann is the OEM in most circumstances, we generally give them the nod. However, Bosch has always made a great product and we wouldn't hesitate to put either in.

    Bullshit. The '08 plastic cover slips behind the neighboring plastic coverings and won't simply come out. Damn shit plastic wants to just bust after you get the torx screws out, especially along the door side. Nice you just glanced over that part, or, the '02 is far easier/ different.

    • @King0ffline
      @King0ffline Před rokem

      If you remove the plastic cover on the tunnel first by undoing one "screw" that is located under the cupholder, (you just turn it 45 degrees to the left) and then pull it to the back of the car, it is much easier and I think the proper way to do it. I recommend also to use a screwdriver or something to lever the clip on the nose of the cover under the glovebox out, that is right next to the door.

    Is there any reason to run both filters?
