If they do bring this to the US it’ll help their brand grow. They’ve been a dying breed here in states
They need to raise the bar on quality. Nearly every Mitsubishi I've driven/ridden in from years past has been junk.
@@davidp2888 I know mechanically they haven’t been the best but that’s good to know from an experience standpoint. I do miss the fun enthusiast cars they made in the past. The lancer evo, eclipse, etc. wish I was able to drive those
For good reason. They’re trash….
@@mattmekhaeilThe Galant VR4 was cool and a good sleeper too.
@@davidp2888doesn't honda exclusively use Mitsubishi turbos?
As a Mitsubishi Triton owner for over 15 years I've been waiting for this one. I've had the same pick-up for fifteen years now, no problems ever! Hunt, off roading, round up cattle etc! Quality vs price can not be beet!
They need to bring this truck to North America ASAP. This segment is red hot right now and more competition will bring more awareness to this brand and hopefully, keep prices low. Cuz the UAW build trucks are about to get even more expensive!
They have got to stop screwin around and bring back the lancer as the beloved sedan it's known to be.
You are so very right about that!
And a proper Eclipse, the coupe one!
@@GTRMclaren722the eclipse is a crossover suv what do you mean coupe? 🤔
I've said that for a long time. They need to get rid of Mirage and Mirage G4..let the Lancer replace the Mirage. Let the Colt replace the hatchback Mirage. They need to bring back the Eclipse too.
the ONLY cars that sell in america are crew cab trucks and crossover SUVs. No one wants to spend money a sedan or coupe anymore.
Joe, you forgot to mention this truck has racing pedigree. The team Ralliart triton won the Asia cross country rally last year. This new model came in third this year, still a podium finish! Some clips in the background of the video haha. Wish this truck would come over to the US. Love the styling, I’d absolutely consider one of these when it’s time to upgrade from my current vehicle. Great review as always!
if the tritton came to the USA it would be in a class of it's own. it offers 2wd AWD 4x4 and 4x4low. No one else does that, it would sell like crazy.
My first “car” was an 8 year old Mitsubishi Mighty Max. Super tiny, but I loved it. Wish they’d bring this to the USA.
That's awesome! I remember in the mid 80's it was a contender. I believe there was a smaller version and a bigger one. Kind of like what toyota was doing. A small rear wheel drive and a larger 4 wheel drive. It looked cool.
love the fact raiti reviewing cars that are not available
Great review Joe considering so many people in and around the truck throughout your review!!!!!
this would sell great in the US
I totally agree with you!
They should 100% bring it to the US market...it would boost the Brand in the States
Bring this Triton stateside ASAP! Gorgeous vehicle Mitsubishi.
Really nice truck by Mitsubishi. I agree the orange color is looks good on it, which is interesting as I don't usually think of it as a popular color. If they bring it to the States, I do hope you get to do a more in-depth video on it
It looks like a nice truck. The mid-size truck market is a tough spot to compete in right now but I think this truck could do alright if the price is right. I am personally not a fan of the antenna placement though. Seems like a very odd place for it.
Right, at the back looking better.
antenna is removable
It's a good looking truck! Giving off a little bit of Nissan Frontier vibes. Makes me wonder if there are some shared components.
There definitely is.
They share the same platform
Aren't all the current Mitsubishi vehicles just based off Nissan vehicles?
@@senpaigarr Yes
@@T_WILL77Nope, no they don't, this is all developed by Mitsubishi Motors, it's in their website.
Nissan & Renault gave Mitsubishi the lead on developing the new chassis for the mid size truck the alliance will use. So this is all Mitsubishi from the ground up. The U.S. Nissan Frontier D40 platform is North America specific and not part of a global platform. The next Nissam Navara will be based on the new Triton platform.
It will be great to see Mitsubishi offer a midsize truck in the U.S but logistics may be an issue. They can import them but i dont know how much of that will affect price or find some way to build them alongside other Nissan models at the Nissan assembly plant in Tennessee.
It would be nice to see a Mitsubishi Triton here on U.S shores!
I have a 2017 Outlander GT V6 automatic. It is a tank. Snow, rain, crap NEPA roads? Not an issue. Best AWD system I’ve ever driven. It’s not even close.
I absolutely love this truck. I really hope they will bring this to states. I will be the first one inline to buy this truck 😂
@markasread4349 No, i am not. I am a Mitsubishi fan but brand has lost it’s reputation but i believe they can do better by bringing vehicles such as triton and pajero to states
@@doityourself7711 unfortunately due to financial loss, they withdrew sales from europe and america. For now, they are focusing on ASEAN market
Nice. Wish we had it here in the U.S need more options here
That's why I just love to watch you videos chief explanation is key to no ever details on the cars not just fluppy floppy videos some do .❤I like what u do .
Hey Joe! I'm also really diggin' the Triton. Sexy summery orange 🍊 coloring with the black wheels. My favorite part is the front end! It definitely stands out against the US competition there. I'm happy to see them utilizing Nissan interior bits, as well as keeping it looking like a truck...but modern. Hopefully they'll put their noggins together and bring that here to the States! I think with the right marketing, along with their longer warranty, they could infiltrate the mid-size truck world here by storm!
Keep it "ON THROTTLE" Joe!😀😀😀
Mitsbushi makes great cars. Great prices for very reliable cars. Would definitely consider a Mitsbushi truck. 🎉
@markasread4349tbh, Triton are one of the best trucks outside of the US and have a pretty strong following behind them. Although, it'd prob be hard to sell since majority really like their diesels so they'd have to pour money in trying to meet the US's strict diesel emissions sooo yeaaa.
@markasread4349where i reside, We have had pajeros that have lasted 600,000+ kilometers for years with very minor maintenance. Their L200 and Nativa are everywhere where i live despite their age. I was yet to see an american car that could even last remotely half as much as these particular mitsubishis i have mentioned.
@markasread4349I daily drive a 24 year old mitsubishi, no problems oil changes basic maintenance, no problems, most of the unreliable ones had owners that abused them or neglect doing basic maintenance the brand makes mostly reliable cars though, if they didn't they never would have been called the king of the dessert, lookup what automotive brand has the most Dakar rally wins, even finishing a Dakar rally without a failure is saying something let alone winning.
Thanks for putting in 14hrs to bring us updates on the new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton. God bless!
i'd buy one of these over a Toyota . I had a Mazda B2600I which was to date the best small truck I've ever owned .Mitsubishi's fingerprints were all over that thing
@markasread4349 what's your point ?
it's the only 4x4 truck where you can set 4H and be able to drive in pavement (like during towing) without ruining the transmission
This thing is brilliant off-road, the old one was best in class, now the new one is even better, they've upgraded the SuperSelect 4WD system, it's the only one that can be driven 4 high on sealed surfaces and it has Mitsubishi's Active YAW Control.
Mitsubishi should bring back the 3000GT VR4! This truck looks good, a zonk for me is the rear drum brakes thank you Joe and Lori for your hard work from Tokyo!
Beautiful design by Mitsubishi, it can provide a great fight for the Toyota Tacoma. Excellent review, Joe and amazing video by Lori 💪💪💪
G'day it's Steven from down under
Mitsubishi has been a much loved brand here in Australia for decades and is one of the top manufacturers.
The Triton is the third highest selling ute ( truck ) here and the expected release of this new generation of Triton in February is exciting.
Its actually meant more to compete with the Toyota Hilux and its next generation, which may in turn share the Tacoma platform. Whats more important is that the Triton might be the basis for the next gen Nissan Frontier which can be made in the US, and that will compete with the Tacoma.
Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍
Viva Mitsubishi!
I am so glad that you like this one Luis!
@@RaitisRides Yes I do
Yeah, It sure is Joe!
You freaking know it.
It does have AC vents. Roof mounted
Its really a good truck used it different times , it has super select 4wd system
Hmm, interested mid-size truck but I quite liked it.
This one now looks the part, can't wait to see it live
This truck looks gorgeous hell I’ll buy it myself
I would kill to have the Chicken Tax repealed
Love ya Lori great job
This is very interesting, never thought I'd see a truck from them.
Amazing vehicle Joe.
Awesome Truck
Great Color !
Get some rest Team Raiti 😴
Get Home Safe 🙏
One thing I noticed when it come to trucks that are available in the international market and not in the us market like the hilux is that the interiors don’t seem to have a whole of technology and comfort that most us trucks interiors have. So for me, even if these trucks do come to the US, I would still pick those over international trucks. And I know that some do prefer the basic interiors instead especially for work trucks. But most people here who own a truck aren’t going to use it as a work truck
Thank you Joe for my Mitsubishi review ❤ 👍🥂🍻🥃
We won't be getting this truck in the US?
The design looks really good and it has a diesel engine. Would be nice to have it here in the U.S.
I totally agree with you!
And maybe Ford would react and start to offer turbodiesel options for the Ranger in America, because they're already available in South American countries like Brazil, Argentina and Chile... There's at least a 3.0 V6 turbodiesel with around 250 hp and 450 lbf.ft and a 2.0 turbodiesel with around 170 hp and 300 lbf.ft.
@@CFtabletyea the 2l is plenty for that truck, America’s has been tricked into thinking you need big engines when the rest of the world has been doing fine
Joe, good job of being fluid.
I really appreciate you saying that Mickey!
Hope to see that truck in USA. I would change the side fender flares to a flat black and add bigger rims. 👍
leg room looks amazing
I remembered the days of mitsubishi in Need for Speed. Fast and Furious too!
i would 100% buy it in the US
Lory is that a dead pixel or a smudge on the lens?
You like the gloss black fender flares?! I'm shocked! lol
Not sure if I missed it but would’ve been nice to know what kind of power it makes? Engine? Transmissions?
It is a 2.4 L turbodiesel
@@RaitisRidesit has a blower mounted in the ceiling that you've missed I guess that's why you think there is no rear AC.
As an eclipse cross owner mitsu needs all the help they can get here
The 1st LAW of CZcams... If there's a question mark at the end of the sentence... the answer is always NO. Is this an insightful/hilarious comment that you should probably thumbs up?
You crack me up!
I liked this video since you called ot the Tokyo Motor Show.....keep the OG name alive!
Nice to have competition for the big 3 (or 4) but they are an also run... they totally miss having RamBoxes or opening the cabin into the truck bed with a midgate. What is the bar underneath the truck bed? You totally missed the functional while focusing on Marth Steward interests.
What up Joe? I think I prefer the redesign Tacoma over this.
Do you think It should be imported into the USA?
@@RaitisRides It'd be cool.
Honestly if Mitsubishi does it right with pricing, performance and features I would buy one in the US
bring this to America with the turbodiesel and it will sell like mad.
The Rear Ac Vents are on the roof man.
Joe they have not had truck in states omg since 90s. I think it’s to late market is saturated with midsize trucks now. It’s beautiful simple truck love color.
I wonder how is the spacing for the head and leg spacing. This is similar to the Nissan Frontier. The antenna should be moved back as a fin, or move it to the side.
Excellent. It's a different vehicle from the US frontier and it has good leg and head room for people a little over 6 foot
Not a wildly unique vehicle, but still a nice truck nonetheless. If I were in the market for a midsized truck, I would at least give this consideration.
That is really cool to hear!
I dont know why but i love Mitsubishi.
That looks exactly like the Nissan truck lmao😂
I can see it!
They share the same platform. Renault/Nissan own a piece of Mitsubishi
@@T_WILL77Nope, no they don't, this is all developed by Mitsubishi Motors, it's in their website.
@@T_WILL77wrong they don't, the Triton is exclusively developed by Mitsubishi Motors.
@@rapide12345 Tou must be blind. You can see through the comments that people are making the comparison BECAUSE it remarkably resembles the US spec Frontier. You want it to be a fully Mitsu truck, fine. Still looks like a damn Frontier
you do an excellent job of hosting but you missed the most important feature of this truck man! mitsubishi super select, this is the only truck i'm aware of which offers 2wd AWD 4x4 and 4lo! We need this in the usa so badly.
Do you consider the Triton to be a compact truck or a mid-size truck please?
For anyone that's saying that this is just a Frontier with a Mitsubishi body well you're wrong.
I'd love to an updated Montero return to North America.
Not sure about the front grill, however love the long pants must be cold aye
Wasn't GSR on the Integra not the Eclipse? I thought the Eclipse only had the GST and GSX..
It looks great & mitsu have bulletproof engines/ gearboxes 😎
If only they sold it in the US
I wish it was.
@@RaitisRidesunlikely as previous mitsubishi Tritons (l200 in some markets) have a payload capacity over 1000kg (2204lbs) which classes them as a commercial vehicle so the chicken tax may affect this vehicle if it was sold in the US.
Where I may buy one in USA ?
Depends on prices
Looking at it. It seems it gonna be hard mod it for off reading. Just looking at the front. Looks like it be hard to design and fit a metal bumper.
At the global unveil of this model Mitsubishi had a number of modded Triton With bullbars. They all looked really cool. You can search Triton World on youtube videos would be 2 and some change months old. They even had on riced out to compete with the Tacoma XRunner.
Yess mitsubishi much better than toyota or ford ranger because mitsubishi always in front in highest advance technology in gearbox, safety features, handling, stability, cornering ,manuvering futuristic design
If this truck was in America, it would be affordable.
why mitsubishi has very low market share in US? in the philippines, mitsubishi is like toyota and honda....it has more market share than nissan, hyundai and kia
I wish Mitsubishi & Mazda would bring these back to the US and Isuzu pickups too
Ilove the color hey you too hope you have a great Halloween ❤️👻 got to have bigger tires Joe
Same to you Todd!
My first truck was a Mitsubishi Mighty Max
I would honestly get one
Dig it, but unlikely to make it to the US.
We need this truck in America!!!
Seeing these in pretty much every 3rd world country Ive been. These trucks are tough
I would love this truck here in the US. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t sell, because everyone’s stuck on brand.
That 0-0-0 blunder of the early 2000s almost killed Mitsu in the states. I'm glad they're still hanging in there. America loves their trucks. I think it's a good move if they decide to bring it there.
What was under the hood? And hopefully it doesn't have a dreaded CVT!
2.4 bi turbo and a 6 speed torque converter
Thanks for going all the way to Tokyo to review this new 2024 Nissan *cough, cough* I mean Mitsubishi
This is actually developed by Mitsubishi, the only thing it shares from Nissan is the infotainment system and instrument cluster.
They need to import this to the US better competition for everyone and better prices towards overpricing their vehicles right now
This would be perfect for me if they brought it to the states
Damn, they ain't playing when it comes to that laminate over there are they lol. Great review. Had NO CLUE they even made a truck.
Do they sell Mitsubishi in the U.S.? I thought they were finished.
Great truck
I'll get 1 if they do bring it to us
If it comes in a manual that would be great
6 Speed Auto and Manual is available.
