  • FIRST LOOK: The Triton is here from Mitsubishi and there are changes for 2024. On the outside you will find all new sheet metal, LED lighting, running boards and special wheels. On the inside there is midsize truck space for passengers. Under the hood is a 2.4L turbodiesel paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Nissan & Renault gave Mitsubishi the lead on developing the new chassis for the mid size truck the alliance will use. So this is all Mitsubishi from the ground up. The U.S. Nissan Frontier D40 platform is North America specific and not part of a global platform. The next Nissam Navara will be based on the new Triton platform.
It will be great to see Mitsubishi offer a midsize truck in the U.S but logistics may be an issue. They can import them but i dont know how much of that will affect price or find some way to build them alongside other Nissan models at the Nissan assembly plant in Tennessee.
It would be nice to see a Mitsubishi Triton here on U.S shores!

I would love this truck here in the US. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t sell, because everyone’s stuck on brand.

That 0-0-0 blunder of the early 2000s almost killed Mitsu in the states. I'm glad they're still hanging in there. America loves their trucks. I think it's a good move if they decide to bring it there.

This is actually developed by Mitsubishi, the only thing it shares from Nissan is the infotainment system and instrument cluster.
