Nissan revealed a new cheap truck that can beat Ford Maverick, Toyota Stout, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado and all other trucks. The Nissan Frontier is also a big deal. A Small pickup truck war is starting and Nissan is about to throw their hat in the ring with an awesome new cheap pickup truck. Over the past few years full size trucks have been getting bigger, fancier and more expensive but In 2023 sales of the overpriced trucks has slowed to a crawl and manufacturers are trying to figure out what to do next. Ford was first to the small truck game by releasing the Maverick, Rumors of a new Toyota Stout have been taking over the internet, and Nissan recently revealed that they are thinking about bringing back the classic hardbody pickup truck with a new and more modern version.
And it might even start at a shockingly low price of just $20,000!

A versa, the cheapest car in America is $20k, you really think they can build a pickup truck for under $30k? For that price, people will complain about lack of everything. Oh no towing, hard plastic everywhere, no power, defeats the purpose of a truck. You have to be able to please and wow customers for them to buy products so I'll say that's going to be pretty hard unless the goal is just to capture customers, move units, take huge losses in profits to buy keep cash flow and profit in the future

The only thing he had to replace on it was tires and occasionally the oil, he regrets ever selling it. If they made the same type of vehicle today, I highly doubt it would be as tough as how they made them back then, it would probably be built for the average mother who gets groceries and brings the kids to soccer practice and never drives on dirt.

Automobiles got too expensive... people can't afford to own both a truck and a sedan, so now we've got these mutant four-door things.
As for the height, I dunno. 2WD trucks used to be lower than 4WD ones, but it seems they're all 4WD height now. Makes the bed nearly unusable, if the crew cab didn't already.

When I looked at what a new truck cost, I purchased a trailer for $1000.00. After having the trailer for a while I realized some things. I don't miss having a truck, easier to load and unload (sides drop down), lower to ground, carries more weight, doesn't need inspected, doesn't need insurance, you get the picture and oh ya, my bank account isn't suffering and neither is my anxiety of writing a huge car payment check every month for 7 years. Think about it.

I researched trucks for over a year and went with a '23 Frontier Pro 4X that was 5K below MSRP a few weeks ago. Just a fantastic, beefy, sturdy feeling truck. Hydraulic steering, V6 naturally aspirated engine, no CVT transmission, factory bedliner, nice interior and priced well I thought. Just love the truck and I think Nissan is going in the right direction. My previous vehicle was a Nissan 370Z which was indestructible. Sure it had aged tech in it but I loved that sports car. Let's hope they worked out the radiator leak problem that fragged countless V6 engines and transmissions simultaneously in the 05-11 Frontier and Xterras. Nissan was sued over the issue in a class action lawsuit, effectively turning every one of those trucks and SUVs into Lemons. Thats why you hardly ever see those trucks and SUVs on the road. I had an 06 Xterra that was totaled by that very issue, fragged the engine and transmission, causing it to spew milk of magnesia from every orifice and Nissan denied me a fix to a known issue because my Xterra "was not part of the VIN run with that problem". We went from a Nissan family to a "never-again" Nissan family.

But that was because Ford did not want to sell 4 banger sticks with just the basic list of options. Sometimes a 4 cylinder is all you need. I had a 7 passenger Envoy for the old lady's pleasure.
But if I needed to pull a 6000 lb trailer the Envoy could do it.
The Ranger had transmission problems pulling a empty trailer. I also did not have to adjust the seats in it. Stick shift.

No doubt many people will love a smaller pickup truck option. 👌

      A work truck no doubt.
But like most pick-up truck owners, there is nothing in the bed , most of the time during the year.
I have the Tacomas for the 4 wheel drive and the high clarence for the winter.
I have seen all-wheel drive vehicles. Many cars get stuck in the snow and suspended in the high snow cause they don't have the clearance.

I bought a '93 Nissan Hardbody shortbed regular cab for my son as his first vehicle. The only thing I did to it was to put a set of 15x8 Pathfinder wheels and 255/60R15 tires on it to make it handle better and a new stereo. It had 300k miles on it but it still looked and ran great. My son drove it every day for a few years then joined the Navy. After that, I drove it for another year or so then sold it. That KA24E four cylinder was a great motor. If Nissan brought that truck back, I would almost certainly buy one!

When I graduated high school in 1984 I bought my first new vehicle. 84 Chevy S-10 with a 4cly 4 speed manual, PS , PB , FM radio. I paid 8400.00 tax, title, included. It was new, cheap to run, cheap to insure.

Have to say I miss my 1989 Nissan D21 Hardbody with the extended cab. A 4x4 with a 5 speed, Z24 engine and got 25mph on the highway. I did a huge amount of off road travel with that truck literally from Mexico to Canada. I may buy me an old one and fix it up!

Got a new 23 Pro4x back in January and I already have 20k miles on it. Absolutely love the thing. I had a 2019 Pro4x prior that sadly died in a head on collision but the 3rd gen is an awesome truck especially for the price I got mine out the door (45k after tax and before cash). That price is fully loaded sans the sun roof and leather seats, which both I didn’t want.

Yeah I’ll say it also, the auto makers have totally lost the plot when it comes to Work trucks ,just a plain build for a work service truck without a service body on it is $50,000 plus then you got anywhere between 10 and 20,000 for a service body plus installation. It has definitely gotten out of hand with the prices.

In 2021, I bought a brand new Nissan frontier for 23k out the door. Granted it was a 2020 model, but I got a great deal because the dealership wanted to get rid of it. I gave 3k down, and my payments are great. Not a flashy truck, but reliable and use it to pull my work trailer.
