i thought for a bit the guy was experiencing a flashback partially conscious. like he lost someone in an accident (like his daughter in a car crash is my first guess). the demons were either him as out of body/dissociative experiences or they were the rest of his family in the crash who died, flashing lights mimicked police sirens, the other sirens obviously were ambulance and police, the nuclear war was the manifestation of his fear and maybe just like the sudden white light (maybe he died for a split moment?). ive have partial flashbacks with my own ptsd where im experiencing something but with my current environment. idk how to describe it, and i really dont think its that deep. if anyone has seen the music video for lady gaga - 911, thats sort of what its like though, and what i was expecting it to cut to.

I *really* like how cool the second game is. this is one of the rare situations where it gets scarier as time goes on. at first you think, with the lights and the spooky radio noises that its going to be a typical demon/ghost horror game. but when I first saw the emergency warning I starting realizing what was actually happening and it got a LOT scarier. horror games that are based in reality are so much scarier. super cool.

It’s less that they hired some random woman and more like they hired the wrong kind of artist for the job. A CZcamsr named Solar Sands has a video called “when art restoration goes south” that goes into a little more detail about this situation (and others), but long story short, the woman they hired was a landscape artist and they asked her to redo a portrait. The rest of her art’s amazing, but just because you know how to draw trees doesn’t mean you understand human anatomy.

Little Nightmares 2 has taught me that the Weeping Angel mechanic is flawless as a horror concept, you would think the scary factor would be broken when the gameplay revolves around 2D zones, but it still feels terrifying.
Even at the most simplistic level too. At least as a kid I was afraid of the boo characters in Mario.
How Doctor Who turned a simple Statue of an Angel to one of the most scariest Creatures in the entire world. It's just lovely to see how the most simple ideas can turn out to be so terrifying and stick around to this very day.
Sadly there aren't a lot of Horror Games who use this scheme.

The first game, although I'm not from Spain, speaks a lot about some of the Country's history, as it references Francisco Franco's anti-communist dictatorship. Even the name of the Game, "Rojo" which means red, was a common name used by fascists to discriminate/identify communists or people that could be considered enemies. During this period of the Country's history you could be chased, killed or imprisoned for speaking your mind, or even only being suspected of being a Communist. If you are interested in more information you should read about the Spanish Civil War, and about the story of "La República" (a socialist-esque totalitarian government that ruled over the country before Francisco Franco came into the picture).
About the game, it appears the person's missing friend, who probably was of alt-right political beliefs, became mentally deranged and started carrying out horrible acts and experiments on "reds" (people he probably suspects are communists, leftists or liberals) because of his adoration of the figure of Francisco Franco (represented in the multiple depictions and pictures of the Dictator around the house, and the flag that Spain used as it's national flag during the period Francisco Franco was in power).
Very interesting game, as normally Mark doesn't play games that carry or talk about actual historical facts.
As I've said, I am not from Spain, but from Argentina, and there's a lot about this period in History that I don't know, if you are as much of a nerd for history as me, you should totally read more on this topics.

@@randomuser3481, it was totalitarian to the point even the Catholic Church supported Franco due to their (willing) complacency in the persecution of clergymen. One example would be the Martyrs of Turon who were executed for no other reason than them being Catholic by striking miners near Turon, Spain. That doesn’t get into them seizing land from the church for no other reason than to seize the land for “land redistribution,” effectively violating the rights of the church to hold their property, or other such examples.
So, yes, they were also totalitarian.

Hey, Mark, if you see this, us viewers are going through an issue in the comments that CZcams refuses to fix. I was thinking that if they aren't gonna listen to us, they might listen to you.
We are being plagued by a bot problem, but the worst thing with them is that they are actively stating things that are not only offensive but directly state that, and I quote from most of them, "Markiplier is garbage" and that their nonexistent content "is way better". They have also said some other horrible things, but I don't really like thinking about it.
I really hope you see this, CZcams doesn't seem to notice our reports and refuses to make what is a very simple system to get rid of them. We just want them to stop. You can even block the bots to get them to stop commenting.
I should mention that they never comment directly.
They only reply to early comments as fast as they can.
They even say nasty things about his niece which is completely inhuman.

Damn... If that second game was fleshed out, it would have been an amazing game. Starting off slow, you think this is just another random solo horror game in a house (which isn't bad, just sets up the subverted expectations), then noticing all the small subtle hints that you're not the only one experiencing this while things are happening in your own home, and it ends up in a full-blown chaotic event that literally affects everything and everyone around you, to the point of a nuclear explosion to 'control' whatever was happening. The potential storytelling for such a set of events, what this could be, etc. is staggering to me. The person who made that game did a great job with what he had.
It is a very nice take on what could have happened, from a perspective of a random citizen, during an scp outbreak. Really cool.

In the first game, it’s a little detail but I like when Mark tries to open a door it says “this door won’t open” but after he gets the key it says “this key doesn’t open this door”.
It’s a nice touch.
dude i never get scared of these but the second one really got me. the whole nuclear warhead thing and attacks are my biggest fear just because it’s so real and could happen at any time. The sound of something flying overhead and then the alarm on your TV. That voice telling you its not a drill. But not having time to be safe. Gosh, its terrifying to me
