I feel like her tail being lost in an accident could also explain Angela's clumsiness, as the loss of her tail could be throwing off her balance.

Well, cats and dogs tend to loose their balance when they don’t have their tails.
This would make it pretty impressive that she could not only ride a hoverboard without a tail, (When she had her mask on)
but also fight ratchet AND take multiple bladed disks to the face. Well that's assuming that the player used the multi-star/chopper on her in the boss fight on that snow planet.

If clank and ratchet get separated, the girl lombax can partner up with clank while ratchet can partner up with another alternate clank. Similar to how in crack in time, ratchet was with azmuth and clank was with sigmund

Yeah i can imagine She'll be playable in the same way Clank was in A Crack in Time where you progressed as Ratchet you would switch to Clank for certain segments.
I quess she is daughter of General Azimuth ( from her dimension ) and that her name is Tristana Azimuth
I always had a feeling Angela was Azimuth's daughter thanks to that cut dialogue from ACiT mentioning Lorna Cross.

1. She lost it while working for Megacorp
2. She hide her tail just like ratchet's tail in deadlocked/gladiator

I don't know if someone already said it, but here my theory:
If Insomniac said that these rifts are another realities, What If this is something like ,,What If..." scenario... I mean Nefarius has a freaking holo statue there and you can only see robots, so I think this could be alternative reality where Ratchet is a girl (and probably has girl name) and where Nefarius used Biobliterator and won.

I believe it would be smart to merge the two universes by making the future saga ratchet and the reimagined ratchet meet because that would technically make it a sequel to the reimagining while also being a sequel to into the nexus. Which then appeals to both audiences! They would definitely have to fight the nefarious from the 2016 universe because after he becomes a robot, his goal (like the OT nefarious) would be to wipe out the organic life in the galaxy with the biobliterator. It is possible that maybe even the future saga nefarious will have to join forces to fight against his alternate self! But hey that’s just my opinion

What do you think of the idea of having her arm being able to transform into a gun, the only gun she gets, that has various modes the player can switch to like a blaster mode, shotgun mode, and rocket launcher mode to name a few. Heck maybe instead of upgrading over use, you can buy modifications for the modes like more damage, more range etc.
This would definitely make her gameplay much different then Ratchets.
Holy crud, Insomniac Games should hire you! I'm glad I'm not the only who has ideas about the female lombax being able to fight with her bionic arm. What do you think about an extend feature? The female lombax could extend her bionic arm not only to grapple and swing from objects like a Swingshot, but also be able to do wrestling type of grappling for enemies? So many possibilites!
@@nak8490 Maybe. I also have this idea for the hammer where it has an upgrade where it surrounds the top of it with an electric energy, making melee attacks stronger for a small period of time and maybe it could power up/disable certain machines.

Maybe similar to the crank feature, her hammer could be used on nail like switches/pressure points, which she can activate by doing a hyper strike.

I have a theory. What if this whole time, Insomniac has ment Ratchet's ears to be an ironic joke? I mean, he has really big ears, but he doesn't have that good of hearing. He couldn't hear Scrunch on clank in RAC 3, he couldn't hear the Kirchu robot until he turned around and saw it in TOD, he didn't hear the robots coming out of the rift until Clank mentioned them in the Rift Apart trailer, because he didn't notice them until Clank mentioned them. And he didn't notice Azimuth shooting the lightning at him until he turn3d around at the end of ACIT. And I think there's a few more instances where Ratchet has bad hearing in the serise, but those are the only ones I could remember rn

When I saw the trailer, what I immediately thought was "Oh wow, shes gonna be an alternate dimension Ratchet, I wonder if she has her own Clank that got lost somewhere" just based on:
1. Alternate dimensions being confirmed
2. She carries a metallic hammer, like Ratchets wrench
3. If she IS some form of Alternate Ratchet, then she must have a robot pal, since Ratchet clones must have a robot pal to be an unstoppable duo

We could be in another Crack in Time scenario where Ratchet and Clank are separated from each other for the majority of the game and we're constantly swapping between the characters. I hope that's not the case but I'd be fine with it if the female Lombax is well written, likeable and we don't play her too much. It worked with A Crack in Time but I don't think it would work here.
Also her outfit gives me an outlaw/roguish vibe. Maybe she did something that got her banished from the Lombax dimension. Maybe she's responsible for all the rifts and the Lombaxs sent her out to fix the dimensions.
If this game is indeed post-nexus then it's likely that Ratchet and Clank tried to fix the dimensionator and accidentally created all the rifts.
Not possible since in the gameplay showcase ratchet and clank specify this was all Nefarious's doing!
About the banished thing, it sounds too similar to Azimuth's story though, I'd prefer another take on it :)

Mrs. Zurkon first appearance was Into the Nexus. When you upgrade Mr. Zurkon to level three it became Zurkon family that included her.

I think she might be playable just for a while when she meets Clank to help him get back to Ratchet. Maybe it would be something like in A Crack In Time where Ratchet and Clank were separated for a part of the game and maybe there'll be parts where we control this female lombax with Clank on her back (kinda like Ratchet's gameplay) and parts with only Clank like it is in almost every game. Well, for now we can only speculate. Can't wait for this game to finally come out

Of course she looks pretty young but time is a whacky thing

the mom might have actually survived but had to stay low for the sake of her unborn child and hey for all we know she might have been purple
Ratchets cousin
There is no evidence that ratchets parents didn't have siblings
And before you say "then why didn't they do this!"
The sibling (s) / uncle or aunties might have been distant, disowned or estranged so they might have not worked together on finding protection for their families together
Ratchet grand/great granddaughter
Just skip a gen she might recognize the name but not really know the person
Ratchet but he was born as a she
Alternative universes

cool theories! I initially ruled out the one about it being his mother, cuz she is confirmed dead. But if time warp is also involved, anything is possible! I really think it's gonna be one of the last two though...Or she is Alister's daughter.
This is the multiverse anything can happen. I'll use my oc Hycron Man for an example.
Earth 001: Hycron Man is a superhero who fights crime in NewBay City.
Earth 675: Someone else is Hycron Man and the original is probably a normal person.
Earth 100: Dycron Man a Supervillain who terrorizes NewBay City.
Earth 077: Is a apocalyptic earth.
In this game we may see alternate versions of the Ratchet and Clank characters such as Quark, Drek, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr, The Prog twins, Nefarious, and more. Also the Plumber can travel through time and across dimensions so expect to see plumber's crack. There also might be easter eggs and hints to other games like Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper and Spyro since in the trailer you see rifts everywhere maybe one of them leads to those characters dimensions.
I'd love Jak and Sly easter eggs!
@@VtnVivi Ratchet and Clank 2 the Clank Daxter victory dance, Jak is an unlockable skin in Deadlock / Gladiator. Sly using Ratchet's wrench in thieves in Time, the Ratchet and Clank billboard in Jak 2 and gun course in Jak 3 and Ratchet is a special character in Jak X combat racing.
Also I think the plot of nefarious wanting to turn Organics into robots came from Eggman wanting to roboticize mobians in Sonic the hedgehog.

Bat Crap Random theory, She's Ratchet's younger sister, Ratchet was a toddler when Lombaxes were betray and fled, and his Parents were expecting/planning a second child. when Kaden talks to Alister just before they went their separate ways, Kaden states that his Wife is 'Gone' which Alister assumed meant was killed, rather then she gone with the others.
Later Lombax Girl (LG) was born, and was raised on stories about her Father and his best Friend (Alister), and possible about her older Brother.
years later, rifts in time and space appears and she get trapped in one (or she went looking for some way to look for her father) and than the Plot.
or maybe she older, or their twins.
or she's just a random lombax from the LD that somehow gets involved in the plot, like the hero of her own story (maybe they could a spin of series with her as the focus)

YAS. I totally agree it was forced. I honestly hate Talwyn. She's such a generic action-girl, whose only reason for being created is to be Ratchet's love interest. Not to mention, she's annoying. This new girl on the other hand, already you can tell she's going to be her own character with a cool back story. I'm already shipping her with Ratchet, and hoping Insomniac does the same, simply because I'm frickin' tired of Talwyn. She basically looks like a human with a tail stuck on. It's creepy. And her and Ratchet have no spark at all. They just seem like good friends...a brother-sister vibe. At least he had chemistry with Sasha. It just makes more sense for him to end up with a Lombax anyway.🙄

I think it's Ratchets Daughter Clank says we're to late indicating there in the future so it's a possibility to me and I know she says who when Clank says Ractchet but that May of just been surprise at hearing her Fathers name.

I think Rift Apart is the start of a brand new trilogy of Ratchet and Clank games. Plus the reason why we only got one Ratchet and Clank game for PS4 was mostly due to Insomniac Games working on other games for other developers, such as Sunset Overdrive with Microsoft and Multiple VR Games for Ocullus. However now that Sony owns Insomniac Games, they'll more than likely juggle between new Ratchet and Clank games and new Spider-Man games.

I like it. There seems to be a lot of new gameplay mechanics such as riding creatures for example so I don't see anything wrong with this. I hope the female has slightly different combat methods like she has a bionic arm for crying out loud! Imagine the possibilities.
I kinda see her as an alternate version of Ratchet, but doesn't have her clank for some reason. Also, going off of what the plumber said back in the 2016 game, "see you in the next reboot." I wonder if this IS the reboot he was talking about?
At this point they're just going along with the Plumber being the 4th wall breaker, I wouldn't base my conclusion off of that.

I think the new Lombax's Gameplay will probably be mostly similar to Ratchet's but I'm hoping they do a lot more with her then with what they could do with Ratchet. Make her feel more unique in comparison to her and not one of those cosmetic swaps for him like in N.Sane where Crash and Coco play the same as each other. As for who she is exactly ... dozens of possibilities I can think of at the moment; either Ratchet's daughter, new love interest, a Lombax from the Lombax dimension, an alternate Ratchet, pretty much all of what you've summed up and I'll be honest, I've sort of lost track of where the Future series left off all the most important plot points which is another reason why I'm glad to be back playing through the games again to get ready for this new one.
Please be an alternate universe, and allowing her and Ratchet to interact and romance between each other after the title. (Save the Lombax race)
Just don't do a surprise 'lead swap' kind of shenanigan. Make both playable please, give them their strengths and weaknesses (something they are good at, maybe some weapon buffs)
We could get spinoff title(s) that explains her story. The three could be a new staple.
If they make a spin-off of her, might as well make a prequel with Kaden and Azimuth.

I had a small idea that the alt nefarious could have an orange head since the robots seen in the trailer also have orange heads. The robots in ACIT had green heads just like nefarious so maybe he designed the robots seen in the trailer after his orange head like he did in ACIT? Idk just some small thing I came up with.

Maybe Rachets daughter I know she says who when Clank says Rachet but that May of been surprise plus Clank said we're to late indicating he's in the future so I think it could be Ratchets daughter.
Or simply a female Lombax with her own heroic story :)
VTNVIVI Seems kinda out of left field to put a Lombax in there with out a connection to Ratchet but then again different dimensions.
This could be her being the only Lombax in her reality but she didn't find a Clank but actually fixed her ship some how with out him like maybe a Decoy navigation system and she joins the fight that way.

The Nefarious Dimension kinda looks like Yeedil. The tall tower in the middle made me think of Yeedil idk

Sometimes i like to believe that she is angela’s daughter and that’s how she knows ratchet but at the same time, that would be a major time difference between ratchet and the lombax girl because i believe the dimensions ripping apart doesn’t change time aswell. or sometimes i believe that the new lombax girl is angela herself but, i doubt it. The wya she lost her arm tho, maybe she’s from the lombax dimension, fell into the rifting portals and met nerferious (i can’t spell) and he told her to find the dimensionater. and in doing so she lost her arm, came back to nerferious telling her story and he got mad and tried to kill her but she escaped and is now in hiding hinting why there are wanted posters of her in the dimension clank is now in. another reason why i think she could be or is related to angela is because in this new dimension where clank is in had signs of the protopets. they only appeared in tools of destruction when angela was working on them so why are there still posters of them ? kinda fishy. or Kaden, i sorta believe that he is alive (ratchets father) but from what Tachyon has said, he’s made it clear that he killed him. Maybe Kaden and the lombax girl worked together as in, Kaden found the lombax girl and she’s trying to help find ratchet and when the dimensions start to collapse she is separated from him (now i’m just talking nonsense) if they were to start talking about kaden or angela it would have to be clearly detailed what happened to them or it won’t make sence to new gamers. But judging her outfit, it looks like she is a pilot if you’ve studied the lombax society it states that there are pilots, she’s wearing goggles and a scarf, i think that’s a pilot 😂. which that would mean she’s from the lombax dimension and everything i said before does not matter if this is the case. THATS ALL I GOT !
the game has really changed alto with rift apart, im really a huge fan of the ratchet and clank games, ive been playing the games for a very long time, it awesome that we can now have another charicter to play as and having new wepons to use, really cant wait for this game, and im really loving the content u make
In my theory Where the Lombaxs are exactly there in jak and Daxter universe because another dimension in ratchets way is another universe and because there’s no word of a lombaxs throughout ratchets entire universes

My first thought after seeing the trailer was she was another Lombax hero, or an alternate Ratchet. I wondered if she had her own Clank, but I figured against it. My second thought (and I still think this is interesting, but it would depend on whether this is after Into the Nexus or the 2016 remake) what is she's actually a re-imagined Angela Cross??
Re-imagined Angela would mean this is a sequel to 2016. I lowkey had thought of that at one point.

i might be wrong in this but one of the games did mention how the Lombax's were still alive just in a different dimension. I can't remember which one though, Maybe this is that dimension that they are stuck in?

Here’s a theory i heard from someone else, they believe that the new girl in the trailer is actually Angela. yes they look nothing alike but they had some points🤍 1. In the scene where Ratchet and Clank are on the dragon they say “where are we?” and you can see in the city there are posters of those animals that tried to destroy the world . Only Angela was related into making them so why would they have posters of them in another dimension, When Clank is separated from Ratchet he is teleported to that same dimension and there are wanted posters of that girl there. But ofc Angela wasn’t silver nor had a thick bushy tail. or had a missing arm, so the guy believed she lost her arm from fighting with her old boss or something and then changed her whole look to disguise herself when she escaped back to the Lombax dimension. ITS A LONG SHOT OF A THEORY BUT ITS STILL A FUN ONE ☝️

Hey VIVI, I’ve been re-watching R&C Rift Apart 20 times and the question I’m wondering about the Lombax girl is who’s voices her, she might be voice by Tara Strong who was the original voice actress Talwyn Apogee in Tools and Quest for Booty.
and my thought with "who" i think it might mean, and im not wanting to make it a big thing, but what if this lombax is looking for ratchet to bring him home, maybe when she was in the lombax dimention she might of rift into one of the worlds and heard the name ratchet from many people and maybe, the was a poster of him and she went looking form him while the rifts are out of control, thats my thought

The idea that she is from the Lombax dimension and that Doctor Neferius was attacking the Lombax world what would the Lombax's see as a betrayel is a good therory for a good story!

When you where talking about gameplay the swingshot arm idea is a fun one. When i was looking at the hamer and the arm. They could give hear some strengt abilty. That when she Attacks with the hamer you can boost with the robotarm? Or the hamer have some rocket boost when she swing the hamer?

I think she is a variation of Ratchet from a parallel universe or who Ratchet might have turned out to be have he had different parents (Alister?), in either of those scenarios there is no need for an alternate Clank. The story could actually center (among other things) in showing us who Ratchet might have turned out to be have he had a different childhood and never met Clank. The reason I believe she is a variation of Ratchet from an alternate dimension is because that could also explain why she has a tail and such a purposely different one, it is intentionally there, so different and on a female lombax because in her dimension female lombaxes have tails and their tails look like that. Also, the fact that she has a hammer -like Ratchet having a Wrench- is another example of a variation. And alternate version of Clank should exist, but by no means is it necessary that he met the an alternate version of Ratchet in his universe. Also, if the Ratchet reboot IS nothing but a version of Ratchet and Clank from another dimension it would be insane to see old Nefarious fight against his alternate version... the one trying to establish domination in this game. I also believe we will get to know a lot more about the Cragmites in this one (and of course, a lot more about the lombaxes).
