- Here’s the story of Courtney Gears. This galactic pop sensation made her debut in Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal and had some references thrown in later games. Miss Gears managed to make a name for herself across different galaxies. Her popularity in pop music easily garnered the attention of both the younger demographic and old.
Courtney Gears’ controversial past with Dr. Nefarious certainly did impact her career to some extent but in the end, Courtney Gears managed to still maintain a status of herself. Whether or not she’s still alive or the possibility of her appearing in the upcoming PS5 game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is unknown.

Melissa Disney is great, I hope she voices Courtney Gears again if she comes back in Rift Apart. I also hope she comes back to voice Elora in Spyro 4 along with Pamela Hayden for Bianca, but I doubt that will ever happen.

@@CactusDaNnJrYeah, that’s odd because we didn’t see the dimensional counterpart of Courtesy Gears in the alternate dimension where Rivet and Kit lived before they formed a bond to fight the evil emperor of the Nefarious Empire.
That interaction between Quark and Nefarious about Courtney really cracked me up when I was young, and it still does now.
I would love her to make an appearance in Rift Apart, they really haven’t done her justice along with Angela. Insomniac Games seem to often be reckless with a lot of their female cast

Apparently it was later revealed hinting she took over the Spanish robot reporter lady's unit. The entire game she expressed her hate for ratchet and clank the entire game for no reason.
So she did return somewhat...

IDK if anyone told you this but there is another moment in Tools of Destruction where Courtney Gears is mentioned. In the Imperial fight festival arena during the tag team challenge , Qwark will mention that he saw a video of Courtney Gears that involved a tag team on the holonet XD.

Oh but Vivi one thing that I love about the second ratchet and clank game going commando, aka locked and loaded, is how you get 2 different omniwrench upgrades and the first one you get in that cave, clank thinks they have to solve a raritanium puzzle, but ratchet breaks the glass cabinet open straight away! That was so funny I thought do you agree too? lol

Man Courtney Gears was an eyesore back then. I mean she is somewhat Brittany Spears video game counterpart after all. I mean she did share somewhat the references from her music to her own music and the dialog in the game and also the personality as well. I mean she was a somewhat to Ratchet but not to Clank just because he's a robot which is not fair. Or due to the fact that she is a celeb and she want to disrespect her fans just like real celebrities do in real life. That's what i hate the most about those people. Its a shame she only appeared in 2 games but she might be in rift apart next year as a reference or as a side or second character, who knows returning characters deserve to be in the next gen games right?😉

I always saw it as a reflection of reality, Courtney Gears, Qwark, Ace Hardlight the other robots who were lookin' to overrun the galaxy who were part of Hollywood were just about the fame and money just like real life singers/Pop idols, celebrities liviin' a fake lifestyle, act nice in public but were actually scandals, but characters as Ratchet, Clank and Alister were the realest, it was about friendship and findin' their lost family, some of them were flawed people but did bad things to be redeemed, earnin' their place as heroes.

There's also a cheat in ratchet and clank tools if destruction that unlocks infobots containing audio snippets from the game developers in certain places on the different planets and one of them talks about the game developers wanting to include a joke about Courtney Gears malfunctioning in public but the joke had to be cut due to time constraints I think it was on Ardolis maybe I could be wrong the cheat is called Tools of Production check it out if you get enough skill points they're an interesting listen.

I'm glad they scrapped the dancing, that idea was brought to Secret Agent Clank later into the icy planet with the lady, and it's okay with Clank but would've been lame with Ratchet; it just doesn't fit him. The battle we got was more appropriate, both in design and rythm.
