  • To all subscribers thank you! I have finally got round to finishing the Spitfire conversion and doing the video. I hope you find it useful and possibly inspires you in your current or future build. Waiting for calmer weather and maiden flight. Until then she'll be in good company with the Zero and Dauntless.
    For those interested the actual specs of the electronics are:
    (1) Flite Test Motor - "Radial" 2205 2300kV
    (1) Flite Test 20A ESC w/Xt-30 Connectors

    (1) Spektrum AR636 Rx
    Battery is a Turnigy 3s 11.1V 700mah

    Try using a very high grit sandpaper and block to remove the die cut parts from the sheet. Lay the sheet flat, turn it over (print side down)
    and lightly sand the sheet until the die cuts are visible, gently remove the part from the sheet.

    Nice work I can't wait to try this. I've been flying parkzone foamies and I really like them, great features for a novice airplane pilot even with 4 channels. I've built the Guillows since I was a kid and it was always my dream way back then to have them really fly on something other than rubber. Beautiful airplanes and thanks for the great tips, it's fun to see your elegant birds fly!

    Thanks for posing this very nice descriptive video srk, and the restful music aided viewing! Admire your skills....just ordered my VMC Balsa Basics kit...some of your mods could well be useful in my build.

      Thanks Peter, I’m trying some different styles of video at the mo. That VMC kit builds well, good luck!

      @@srknight307 Thanks for the encouraging support! Returning to modelling after some 45 yrs I had to learn to dump ic engines and embrace electrics! The VMC Spitfire is maybe a bit too intermediate for me really as previously I only flew very simple RCs with the most simple of controls and often crashed the damn things! I'm hopeful that I can get used to it again and start simply and not be too overconfident....I don't want to break it to early on! Good luck with the vids! Pete

    Hi, nice builds. Question, when you make your own parts do you glue the paper to the wood and if so with what kind of glue and how do you get it off?

    • @srknight307
      @srknight307  Před rokem

      I just use a dab of pritt-stick or uhu glue stick. Don’t leave it on too long then peel or gently sand if any stays stuck.

    Nice build. Is the prop and spinner a kit or separate components?

    • @srknight307
      @srknight307  Před 2 lety

      Thanks. They are separate components: 37mm spinner and a 6x4 APC prop

    My apologies for missing it, but what are you using for covering?

    • @srknight307
      @srknight307  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I’m using the tissue that came in the kit, used a spray undercoat then airbrushed acrylic paints covered with an acrylic varnish 👍🏻
