Very nice presentation. Easy to follow your advice on exchanging manifolds. Really like the idea of showing the different sounds of all rpm’s. Keep em coming.
Sounds good Ken. I would have went that route had I not got the deal on the IPE system I have.
Thanks man, your car still sounds amazing
Great video, loving the F430 content
Thanks buddy!
Your by far my favorite youtube car guy
Thanks for the kind words man!
Sounds more like your previous car now. Nice.
Was just thinking this! Sounds pretty sweet regardless.
Sounds amazing
Sounds freeeeee😅❤
Ken- I talked to Roger at Inspired and he is putting me together a package. I have got to finally upgrade my factory exhaust system. No smog check here.
I’m going with the same Kline exhaust you did, but because the Challenge headers have gone up so much in price, I am thinking about going with the Kline headers. Maybe.
Now, a CEL would drive me crazy and distract my ownership and driving experience. I want to avoid it. I know you said you have not gotten a CEL after 800 miles, but do the Challenge headers have pre-cats? So, you are using factory post-cats? I know the 200 CEL sport cats will deliver more high flow, but could throw a CEL and Roger said I could try O2 extenders to fool the system, which may or may not work, but I really don’t feel comfortable shipping my ECU’s in for a retune. In your opinion, would you go with the Challenge headers again or in my circumstance do the Kline headers and what’s your thought on post-cats? Thanks.
Yeah, the challenge header price increase is a huge bummer. I do believe they're good headers, but for the price now, I would likely go with a different setup. Like larini, kline, or tubi etc.
I'm still more than pleased with the kline system, I still recommend it.
The challenge headers do not have a pre-cat.
I have tried three different setups with the challenge headers, one being with stock cats, no CEL.
Challenge with test pipes and O2 extenders, definitely got a CEL.
Lastly, challenge headers with 200 cell aftermarket cats. I did get a check engine light with the aftermarket cats, I installed 02 spacers, and I still got an occasional check engine light even with the spacers.
The 200 cell cats I tried were not Kline, they were just some off-brand and I was not pleased with their quality so I took them off the car.
So based on my experience, I think you're pretty safe with stock cats and any header setup, but unfortunately with aftermarket cats you're likely going to trigger a check engine light..
You and I sound very similar, I can't stand having a check engine light even if I know it's just the O2 sensor... It always amazes me how some people just can ignore it LOL.
I'm actually in the same town as mase engineering who tunes these things and can adjust the sensitivity of the rear o2s, I'm just not sure if I want to go that far or not either
@@ExoticCarDIY thanks for your input Ken. I will most likely keep the stock cats as a starting point and can always try other options as I feel for it 👍🏻
I have an 08 spider, all original. Those manifolds, did you order them from Ferrari? Where from? Thank you!
I ordered them from eurosparesUK. Links in the description.
Unfortunately they raised the price and the dollar has weakened.
Still the best option if you're looking reliability, performance, sound, while still retaining OEM.
@@ExoticCarDIY awesome thank you.
No longer $1300 for a set, the secret is out and now they are 3x or more to buy a set.
Yup, I mentioned that in the vid. Bummer on timing
You took down the yesterday video?
Yes, nothing changed though btw
I'm in Calif. My mechanic says if I put headders on my 430, it won't pass smog.
I've heard they are really strict. Do they look for codes? Or tailpipe sniff or visual.
I guess the cool part about challenge headers is they look 100% stock, the stock cats are really good, so should pass a sniffer, and no codes on mine
@@ExoticCarDIY My mechanic say's they sell some kind of device that cheats the system, but if the tech. sees it he flag the car, and then you have to put the OEM back on to avoid fines from the DMV.
@@ask4george1 yuk... I wonder how they could tell? Visually it's the same
@@ExoticCarDIY I'm not sure. It's got to be something in the exhaust flow. I'm going to retire in 3 years, then I'm getting the hell out of California.
@@ask4george1 haha, I love to visit California.... I couldn't live there. I'm enjoying freedom in my state
Booooy! That CUCV.
Ya man!
