- The world's largest airline by fleet size, American Airlines announced an order for 260 new planes, with options and purchase rights for an additional 193 aircraft. The new orders are the latest development in American's effort to expand premium seats across its narrowbody and regional fleets and prepare itself for continued growth across the airline's domestic and short-haul international network.

Congrats to all three manufacturers! Especially Embraer, since they are quite underrated.
.... those are the only choices....
@@a-borgia4993 Real
Underrated? EMBRAER is global leader in regional domestic airplanes. Embraer dominates 85% of the airline market in North America (USA and Canada) the same to Europe.
@@fabyn1633true. Id say the E2 series is underrated tho
Embraer ! very happy for them !
Glad Embraer is finally getting involved in sizeable orders!
Even if it’s not the E2’s?
@managed9348 why not?
@@GABRIEL-dz9mh are you asking me why they aren’t E2’s?
@@managed9348 E2s are better but something is better than nothing
@@KensoranAVthey cannot buy the E2s because of scope clause restrictions.
Huge win for Embraer!!!
Really surprised at the Max 10 order, but a321 neo slot restriction is quite real ig
I wish they’d expand their long haul network instead… their network is literally half the size of the other big 2 airlines
Can only assume that one of the reasons for ordering the MAX 10 AND the A321NEO is the incredible backlog of orders Airbus is experiencing. ✈️
Weird that they order the 737 MAX 10 when there are so many uncertainties about its certification
I know, right? I mean commenters on YT have way more insight to the aviation world than the executives of major airlines.
It only means the orders can get delayed. And they are already probably counting on only receiving these planes way into the future.
Political influence
They will definitely be certified at some time. They just don’t need the airframes now. Plus all the attention on Boeing just makes the aircraft better down the road.
They probably did the math and think it'll still arrive before they get their turn in the A321 queue. Or got generous cancellation/conversion clauses in there.
Great news for Airbus and Embraer, will the Max10 ever come into service?
Apart from this I just heard American is also retiring the 50 seaters by the end of the decade. Wonder what this will mean for Piedmont and Air Wisconsin
This means it’s probably hella hard to upgrade to wide bodies.
CFM making bank on all those 737 and A320 engines
And for that 1st generation E175. So it’s a triple win
Good to know. I'm researching which airlines fly the Airbus aircraft. I'm done flying on Boeing aircraft.
Old Embraer 175 is more profitable to Embraer/GE than E2, completely paying. Airbus A320Neo some situation👍🏼
✈️
Max 10 ?? will it ever fly ??
Bombardier was not invited to the party
Bombardier is out the commercial aviation market. They quit the A220 program they started and sold the Dash 8 and CRJ programs after losing so much money nevermind the Boeing dumping petition which ultimately failed
American Airlines has 300 more Airbus A320 family aircraft than Boeing 737s.
Mostly inherited from US Airways and America West.
Vague comment.. suggest you be more specific on your claims or learn how to count .
Current fleet,or with orders added in ,there are not 300 more 320 neo family than 737's in Americans' fleet.
This is just false lol
Wrong.
They have 133 A319s, 48 A320s, 218 A321s and 70 A321neos, which equals to 469 A320 family aircraft.
In comparison, they have 303 B737-800s and 59 B737 MAX 8s, which equals to 362 B737s.
This means they have 107 more A320s than 737s, not 300 more.
Fake news! they have 107 more A320 family jets than 737's.
So, will the new A321neos and 737MAXs have Flagship seats on them?
America West orders again i mean American Airlines
where did the word MAX come from ?
I think it’s probably the name of the guy who was supposed to put the bolts in the door plug !
American A350 pls...
Unbelievable, really unbelievable!
American must heard about Air India's insane order book so they are competing for this. Hope American can pull those revenue for it.
"competing" lol
That's not how airline business works
What are you on about?
Copy Air India!? More like Air India copied American. lol
American started the trend of large aircraft purchase orders back in 2011.
Last year I flew with American on its 737-800 and the seats were abit uncomfortable but now I know that is going to change
American airlines finna replace they whole fleet
Just too bad most passangers do NOT have any trust in Boeing anymore
No A350 😢
good
@@grandmaster1984 I will stick with delta 😂
@@malvinmalvin9702 did anyone ask? don't think so.
Those poor planes 😂
Surely those e175 are e2’s right?
Scope clause means no
No, they’re the older models.
@@FlyByWire1Not so "older". It is the E1 model indeed, but with some enhancements and improvements.
Unless US updates their scope clause, they can't have E2s
yeah they can, they just can't contract regionally@@MrCaiobrz
Love American - but MAX :-(
"Trust in boeing " 🙃
You have to love BoneHead the death Max's
Cannot trust us operators..They can pull the plug anytime
Is it different elsewhere?
😊
What do you mean? When have any US operators cancelled large orders? They always follow through lol
@@FlyByWire1 please revisit the history .. all us operators will have to lean towards domestic plane makers by rule of law ..Or they will be made to by hook or crook
@@manjunath2388what are you waffling about? All US Carriers besides Southwest and Avelo operate Airbus aircraft.
@@manjunath2388 what are you even talking about There are tons of US operators that operate all Airbus fleets or majority Airbus fleets.
Hope max10 won’t have its door plug gone in air.
I’m waiting for American C919s
Don't hold your breath.
Won't happen

WHO CARES?
The Boeing 737 MAX-10 will be delivered with full compliment of parachutes. They will be stored in the overhead bins so no carry-on luggage will be available on these airplanes.
It's delivered without the new BMCS. No pilot retraining required, honest!
