It's my understanding that Earl had a bit of a health scare a while back. That was part of what inspired the hospital storyline of their Queen in 5 minutes video. Not sure how much that played into why he left, but it kind of fits with the "pain" imagery in this song. Layne (the beatboxer) really stepped up in this one!
I've described this video before as heartbreakingly beautiful. The story behind it, the emotion flowing through it... heartbreaking is about the only word I can find for it.
They wear their heart not on their sleeves, but in their voices...you can hear their sorrow. But it’s beautiful nonetheless, even if it makes me cry every time I hear it. It’s stunning. Great new philosophy too. Hope I can get to that place.
I'm so sad Earl is leaving.. you could feel so much emotion in their voices, he's gonna be missed, but also that Layne got his own part to sing here was beautiful. Can you react to voiceplay's True Colors cover or Geoff's cover of Bare Necessities from the jungle book?
YES! TRUE COLORS IS SO FORGOTTEN, BUT IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Geoff's Bare Necessities was great too, so much fun, but what VoicePlay fan _isn't_ gonna react to that?
@@gracenewsom4694 YES glad you agree, True Colours is one of my favourites, it's so underrated! Same with "Something just like this"! I hope to see more reactions to those!
Please can you react to Voice Play’s version of True Colours? It’s such an underrated song of theirs, and one of my absolute favourites! It has some absolutely gorgeous harmonies 🤩💕
You should also listen to their cover of "Bones," which was the next song they released after this one. Very similar kind of message, with guest vocalist Emoni, and it's awesome.
This is such a beautiful song, and it makes me a little emotional to listen to it even now. So glad you liked it. And if you liked that, I have the feeling you're gonna like their version of "True Colors". I honestly think it's one of their best, and when it comes to VoicePlay, that's saying a lot. Plus, it's so overlooked! I've seen possibly _one_ person react to it, but it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard! Please react!
I'm pretty sure Eli pulled double duty on that song, because it's still in 5 parts. It's a good message. It's sad Earl is gone but I totally get it. Sometimes you gotta do scary things and try something new. Do what's best for you.
It’s a beautiful cover of a John Meyer song, not an original, though they certainly poured their hearts into it. Another fabulous vocal group you should react to is Anthem Lights, if you don’t know them already. They aren’t truly acapella, because they use accompaniment in place of a beatboxer, though they do occasionally do four-part acapella arrangements. They have been around for quite awhile and they have some of the most angelic voices I’ve ever heard. Each of them also put out solo music. If you want a place to start, I would recommend the ‘Class of 2018’ medley or ‘The Greatest Showman Medley’ as both of those showcase each of their voices and ranges.
I think you should check out Home Free's cover of Everybody Walkin' This Land. It takes another perspective on whats going on right now. Just make sure you watch the bit at the end. Tim has some things to say that everyone should hear
I think you should check out Geoff Castellucci's new solo song, The Bare Necessities!!
yes I loved it

I heard he had his appendix removed back then, but not sure.
This song is the closest you can get to bittersweet.
Oh, and it’s really cool to hear Layne sing so much solo!

@@rio5439 I actually just listened to "Something Just Like This", and you're right, it's pretty doggone cool. :D

Have you heard their version of Phantom of the Opera? I was floored by it. I think you would like it as well.

Geoff looks like he is almost in tears

You should definitely listen to Home Free's everybody walking this land. It's definitely something that needs to be shared and listened too right now
I miss Earl :(
Just hoping he won't abandon his music career, as he's really talented and could be great, even if not in Voiceplay.
Bruh7- Nah he would never leave his singing career, his voice is to smooth. He might do solo work

So sad earl left 😭😭 i made a tribute on my channel
I don't know why you're not reacting to Jacob Collier's "I won't hold you". I believe it'd be right up your alley with the gospel thing
