Once an American girl asked me why there are so many different languages in Europe. As a German how to answer this highly intelligent question? Finally i said 'The reason for so many different languages in Europe is, we lost WW II.' You know how she reacted? 'Ooh, i'm so sorry for you guys.'

9:43 - _"Where is South Macedonia?"_
A valid question. There's no South Macedonia, but Macedonia, which is a part of Greece. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, North Macedonia was named "Republic of Macedonia", which led to a dispute with Greece. So in 2018, they renamed their country to "Republic of North Macedonia".
5:22 - _"Why is it (Liechtenstein) inside Switzerland?"_
It's a very, very small princedom between Switzerland and Austria, they speak a dialect very similar to Swiss German, use the Swiss Francs as currency and play in the Swiss soccer league.
btw: you did very, very well.

      Here's my perspective on knowledge.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with not knowing something. We all started out life knowing absolutely nothing about ANYTHING.
The problem, IMO, is when you are an adult and you don't KNOW that you don't know something.
There are tons of things I don't know, but you won't see me thinking I know things that I don't.
What I can't understand (and can't respect) is when someone assumes something and then just assumes that they are right. That's far worse than a simple lack of knowledge. Some people seem to have a delusional belief that they can't be wrong about something and that's why they'll say things like, "Oh right, Belgium. That's in South America."
A more reasonable person would say, "I'm sorry, I don't know much about Belgium. Is that one of the countries in South America or Europe?"

Actually, I think you did very well. Since World War II there have been so many wars between some mid-European countries that even I've lost count of how many "new?" countries there are now. Apart from the very well-known countries, in this area just looking at a map I can obviously find France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany Poland, Norway, Denmark. Sweden, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania those last 3 haven't moved or been split up or renamed, but Yugoslavia & Czechoslovakia don't exist anymore. I know where Belgium & The Netherlands are too. I also almost yelled "Where?" like you did a couple of times. Also when you shouted out loud at a lot of those names, I knew the names because they were around when I was a kid. We had all heard of Bohemia (The Bohemian set that used to meet in London all artsy & crafts, writers, actors, poets etc). A lot of those names seemed like fairy tale names or even made-up names when I was young.
The War: Kosovo forces were made up of Kosovons & Albanians and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia comprising Serbia & Montenegro & it only ended when NATO started bombing Yugoslavia making them retreat. NATO forces were sent in as peacekeepers.I had no idea that a lot of Kosovons & Albanians were Muslim. That's because Albania was once a port of the Ottorman Empire and they gradually moved North, therefore, living under the laws of Kosovo Did you know that NATO still keeps a small peacekeeping force made up of soldiers from 27 different countries to patrol along the Kosovo/Serbian border as tensions between the 2 counties are still very high. I'm sure that if the NATO soldiers left there would be another bloodbath, so for the time being (until they stop hating each other (yeah? kook at Iran/Afghanistan & the West) it's best to keep the soldiers there.

    - Czech Republic and Slovakia were previously Czechoslovakia, so Slovakia is the one touching Czech Republic.

You should know those eastern countries at least from History lessons, Soviet Block existed only for like 40 years, that's not such a long time to forget that these countries existed. We still remember Austria-Hungary and Prussia and that's gone for more than 100 years and WWI literally started after Serbs did some mess, so you must at least know that these countries existed. But exactly locate them is tricky even for people here in Czechia, most of us know maybe Croatia because everyone is going there for vacation, but rest of Balkan is more like random. Countries which were not part of USSR or Yugoslavia are ofcourse easier, because these were on map even between 1945-1989. I learned about Baltic countries just few years ago when I visited Latvia, I didn't know anything about them before. But it's not only about Balkan, even correcly guess which one is Belgium and which Netherlands can be hard for some people, I can select it correctly because I know that people in Netherlands will all die after glaciers will melt. 😀 Most of people would never guess there Luxembourg is even when we were ruled by Luxembourgs and it's considered our golden age, Luxembourg Emperors had Czech wives and still, people here don't know where that country is.

In the past some countries split like Austria-Hungary into Austria and Hungary and Czechoslovakia split into Czechia and Slovakia but the way these countries sit on the map it works that the country first in the old name is the country on the left and the last name is the one on the right. The three Baltic countries (opposite side of sea to Finland) you can memorise as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in that order of countries top to bottom. Monaco, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Vatican City, Malta and Andorra are the small, appear as dots, countries. 🇸🇪 Time for some bragging 🤓😎😉
    100% in 3:36
    Explanation:
When Reader's Digest established themselves in Sweden in the early 1960s, they missed (or maybe betting on the chance that people didn’t know) that negative contractual binding is illegal here, my father though, was fully aware of it.
So when they sent a copy of RD's Big World Atlas without his ordering (he subscribed to their monthly booklets for a while) he simply kept the book without paying a dime.
It was really a lavish masterpiece with loads and loads of maps, photos, facts, articles and tables and it was definitely my favorite book for many years during my childhood (born 1957).

It's ok, most Europeans, including myself, would struggle to find all the states of the USA.
Some hints to remember European countries you failed this time:
Slovakia was part of Czechoslovakia till they split up in 1992. You have reacted to a CZcamsr from the Czech Republic and you may have reacted to some videos about WW II and the cold war, so you may have heard of Czechoslovakia. If you can find Czechia, you will find Slovakia as they share borders.
It's some kind of the same with Hungary, although further back in time. It was a big part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, till they break up after WW I. If you find Austria, you should find Hungary too.
Monaco? Have you ever heard of the American Actress Grace Kelly? She was very famous in the fifties. She married the Prince and Ruler of Monaco in 1956. It was like a Hollywood story came true.
