Dude what!!!??? Legends is most definitely NOT a one-time thing like Let’s Go. Let’s Go was a game purely made to bring over the Pokémon Go playerbase to the Switch. Whereas with Legends, it’s most definitely a series they will add to. Cmon man, your feathers are a bit too ruffled with that comment.

I’d love this but if they did it I see them making collections separated by generations. They’d prob bundle gens 1-2 since there’s only 6 games between each gen but the rest would be separate
My craziest prediction is that we will actually get a legends game for both Johto and Unova. They could do two versions. In one we will go to the ancient Johto and to the future Unova in the other. Or they could do both regions in one game but that’s even crazier than my first idea.

Well, that's basically two new games at once. I'd rather see one game that's polished, or just one region with plenty to explore.

They will take longer making Generation 10 for multiple reasons: new console with harsher development cycles, palworld kicking pokemon's ass sales wise, gen 9 backlash and sales dive after first few months, new pokemon games never release early on new consoles typically after 2 or 3 years
It's already been said that Gamefreak is taking a step back to develop better after the backlash
Gen 10 will launch in 2026 for the 30th Anniversary and there has not always been a 3 year gap between generations
Gen 3 & Gen 4 had a 4 year gap
Gen 4 & Gen 5 had a 4 year gap
Gen 5 & Gen 6 had a 2 year gap
@@AdamDawson3gen 5 was 3 years long not 2 years long. So the gap between gen 5 to gen 6 was 3 years in between from 2010 when gen 5 started to 2013 when Gen 6 started. More likely gen 10 is either going to be in 2025 or 2026 for the 30 anniversary for Pokémon since generations is either 3 to 4 years long.

By using Gens 7 to 9 Pokémon you can have a total of 305 Pokémon in a Mystery Dungeon game.
However, if you account for Variants, CrossGen, Gmax, Paradox, etc. you get access to 530/1025.
5 + 3 = 8
1 + 2 +5= 8
Uhhh maybe we are getting a Mystery Dungeon game as both 530 or 1025 add up to 8. Lol
What if it’s a legends game but instead of johto getting kanto it’s an instead unova and your character goes between the regions. Going to multiple regions has been done in sv and with the success and positive reviews of legends it def shows major potential
Is there any chance we could see Black & White 3? Also the trailer for the upcoming presents had the old school gameboy music in it which leads me to believe we may be getting something gen 1 or gen 2 based.

My personal prediction:
2024 - Johto remake (I can see it being either Let's Go or HGSS remaster)... I could see it being an outsource game so the core team can focus on the next console
2025 - Unova game (Paradox or Remake) - I think this would be their first game for the next console
2026 - Generation 10 game
I'm guessing either a new Mystery dungeon or release of Colleseum and XD on NSO.
No one ever talks about it but personally I would love another conquest game. now that type of game with so much content is worth 60-80$😪

I think Pokémon go will finally get the Galar dex pokemon, I think pokemon sleep will get some sort of fun event or giveaway item, and maybe there will be some sort of e-shop release of like, emerald or something. I have low hopes for this announcement as it pertains to a new remake/legends-style game, but I’m always down to be pleasantly surprised! In a perfect world we’ll get a DLC that merges Kalsi, Galar, and Paldea, or maybe some sort of Alola/Unova Legends game?
the mechanics in legends were amazing. The graphics engine they used was not good.
I would love new legends that shows what they learned.

You do remember LGPE came out in 2018 right? They did 4 years in between ORAS to LGPE and 3 from LGPE to BDSP. Unova or Johto remakes now wouldn't be that unusual.
There’s honestly so many directions they could go with Pokémon spin offs. I can imagine a harvest moon/ rune factory kind of game where each villager has a partner pokemon or 2, and in addition to using pokemon to help you around the farm, you also use pokemon to battle in nearby caves.
Or a dragon quest style rpg where you build your team, except instead of catching any Pokémon you come across in the wild, the six Pokémon who will join your team are fully fleshed out characters who you meet throughout the story and each have there own story arch that feeds into the greater story. Their attacks would use skill trees and the trainer could develop much deeper relationships with the Pokémon on his team than we usually get to see in most Pokémon games.
Or a crossover with another popular franchise. Mario had a crossover with rabbids twice, so I don’t see why we couldn’t have something similar with Pokémonxmario or pokemonxzelda.
Honestly just endless possibilities. I could write up a dozen in depth potential pokemon spin-offs
They limit releases of old games so that you have to buy the NSO subscription or eshop versions, pretty simple business
My prediction is more stuff for their mobile games (Unite, Masters, Sleep, Cafe Remix and Go). The big reveal could be Unova remake, possible mystery dungeon, gameboy games added to Nintendo Switch Online, or possibly a new spinoff game for mobile/console. If its a new spinoff game it could be a strategy game like Fire Emblem, a 2D fighting game (not Pokken Tournament), or a roguelike (Dead cells or Slay the Spire)

I think GF has to create a game just for competitive, like a Stadium / Showdown, the lack of a story can be beneficial because the time and resources can be used to polish attack animations and if you want to "compete" you must have the other main games ( the ones with story). And remove the rank/competitive side from those game and polish the story and overworld.
Nope. That would be spun into the most evil way to rake money in. Like, the mon equivalent of Master Duel: so a f2p game, but you use all of its worst attributes to make players buy the best team (like in-game currency to buy TMs that could only be used once, held items etc)
@@LichLordFortissimo what if it is incorporated in Home? Like you have to transfer the mons "Battle ready" to Home in order to do the competitive battles, so is kind of free but you still have to pay for more boxes ( which some of us already do) that way they can balance/patch mons there and not in the Main/story focus games.

As most of my friends don't have the NSO+ package (too expensive for them) a Pokémon Box-esque channel that has all the games (GB-GBA) with naturally Pokémon Home compatibility for purchase would be better than them being in the Gameboy and GBA emulator.
If there were a new Legends released toward the end of the year it will have been 3 years since the last one which was originally meant to release in 2021 alongside BDSP, which is the typical development cycle. Legends Arceus was also announced 2 years into development and, like Ruffled said, this time development would be way easier. Not to say it will happen but it will have been plenty of time.
What if every Nintendo handheld and Pokemon Gen came out 5-years apart? While always on years ending in 0's and 5's. Each Gen on a new handheld as its launch title. (with the Switch family being handheld-only while Nintendo still does home consoles seperately) From Gen 1 & GameBoy in 1990 to Gen 7 & "Switch 3" in 2020. How'd Pokemon's quality have been like in this reality? From our altered memories, experiences, and perspectives.
No one was even close in the region the next game be set in 😅

I would love to see the new Detective Pikachu 2 movie announced! That would be hype, especially since Pikachu Returns is a thing! Also, I'd love to see Unova 3 get announced as well! Or a Legends game of some sort would be cool as well! Hoping to hear good things announced on pokemon day! 😊

I wasn’t going to comment but.. at the 27 minute mark when you said “people will buy a switch just for a new Pokémon game” you are completely right bc I’m one lol. I haven’t played a switch at all, ever. I’ve heard so many bad reviews on the new series of games, you know them being incomplete and glitching, that I haven’t bothered. But I really think those issues will be addressed on a new platform and I’m willing to drop 400 on a new switch just for the gen 10
I think this Direct will tell us a lot about how and when the Pokemon Company plans to release its games for the next 5 years. It's definitely not Gen 10. I also think it's too soon for B/W remakes. It could be a Let's Go, but I don't personally want to see a continuation of that series and its catching mechanics. And if they announce a new Legends game, it might hint at a 3-year development cycle that could continue. As for spin-offs, new Pokken? New Pokemon Snap? Maybe an announcement of a new Hollywood film? Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green on NSO?

I feel like I'll be happy with almost anything. A BDSP+ified HGSS would be cool (like BDSP graphics but better gameplay and other improvements), a developed Johto game (like ORAS-style, LGPE-style, Legends-style, etc), something like that for Unova, something to give them time like ports, nothing (pushes forward quality), etc. My worst scenario would be a low quality BDSP style game that neither reduces scale enough for polish nor increases scope enough to be interesting

I know most people love legends, but I hate it. There are so many ways that legends and scarlet and violet completely ignore many of the things that have made mainline pokemon games great.
I hated Legends Arceus the story was boring the gameplay strayed so far from the classic formula and it felt nothing like a Pokemon game but Scarlet & Violet were amazing
They most likely won’t make the next Legends game as empty.
I agree both are missing charm and heart to the pokemon in my opinion the pokemon sprites seem like they have no personality or soul there just zombies that are in HD. 😅

2023 was a gap year though? All we got was DLC.
Its actually over due for a BW remake. FireRed and LeafGreen came out in 2004 8 years after Red and Green. HGSS came out 2010 (2009 in japan) 10 years later. BDSP came out 2021 OG DP came out 2006 15 years difference. Black White came out 2010.2011, the Remakes would theoretically be out 2024 which 13/14 years. its not actually too early for a Black and white remake.

BOLD PREDICTION: A new experimental pokemon game where you get to travel around the regions. You will not be able to travel across the entirety of each region but a few big places around them. It would be a mission mode game similar to arceus with less open world. Also not every pokemon will be available but a at least half. There will also be like a mini new region that's like your central hub or town. Not saying this will happen at all but it could be a good pass of time til the next big game. Hoping for B&W Remakes since I never played them.

There will be no remakes of Gen 5 they will come in Gen 10 as 2024 marks the 25th Anniversary of Gold & Silver its highly likely that it will be something related to Johto I do not want another Legends game as Legends Arceus was boring I hope we get a Let's Go Johto game that for me would be amazing and have the Orange Islands as DLC would be incredible.
Haha I'm one of those... The only games I play are pokemon games on my switch. I'm not interested in anything else. (yugioh master duel is the exception)
