    Hi Patrick. Magpie mine is very impressive, a couple of stubbon gates, a squeeze stile that Twiggy would struggle with and a short bit of road bashing. Wonderful 😂😂😂😂😂😂

    Hi Patrick! Me and my boyfriend did this walk today and we both agreed you are an absolute legend the way you practically jogged down that incredibly steep part in this video! Another fantastic walk, thanks for the inspiration. 😁

    It's been quite nostalgic for me watching some of your recent walks in the limestone region of Derbyshire. I used to go there regularly years ago when I had a very active interest in geology, looking up the old mines and sometimes taking trips into them. Magpie looks a lot less derelict than it did then. Many thanks.

    That was fabulous, what a lovely movie this is. I have to say Sheldon looks lovely and what a fabulous job the builders did of the Cock and Pullett; it looks like it has been there sor a couple of hundred years, not just 26. Magpie Mine also looks like a must visit for those in the area too. Great work Patrick.

      Thanks Jeff, yes you wouldn't be able to tell the pub was so much more recently built than the rest of the buildings in the village. As always thanks Jeff for watching and for your support 👍

    I didn't think you would get through that styal, my it was narrow. Did make me chuckle about the gate though. Yes, lockdown caused some of the most horrific haircut's I've ever seen but we were all in the same boat. What a lovely laid back walk and nice to see some road bashing thrown in. Thank you.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Před 2 lety +1

      The ironic thing was I had set up the camera on the tripod, then went through the gate before coming back through that gap stile! It was a scene definitely worth keeping in though as I found it funny myself 😂 Yes I was glad to have gotten the barber to finally cut my hair. The road bashing was great, wasn't it? 😊 Thanks as always Kelly for watching 👍

    • @kellyshaw7271
      @kellyshaw7271 Před 2 lety

      Yes, it was very funny and it was unusual to see you road bashing instead of up and down dale. I do think that stile could do with widening lol. Cheers.

    This is a lovely walk that you've done here. I vaguely remember the Devonshire Arms pub that used to be mentioned by a person or two from Buxton that used to go out there for a drink many moons ago. I'm not certain when it closed. Deep Dale looks a quite nice sort of valley to walk through, and everywhere seems to be very well signposted for ramblers. Magpie Mine buildings seem to be of the Cornish style, and it's a good job that some of the site remains to this day. Many thanks for this program, very much enjoyable, and keep well.

    Another enjoyable film Patrick and a lovely little walk too. I did think you were going to need the fire brigade to come and help release you from that stile for a minute 🙈. Interesting to hear the story behind Magpie mine. I visited there for the first time a few weeks ago on a really misty day. Had a bit of a spooky feel to it 😱.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Před 2 lety

      And to think that after I had set the camera up and actually went though that main gate, only to return through that gap stile not realising that I how awkward it was going to be! Still, it was too good not to include in the film 😂 Thanks Anthony for watching, have a good week. Patrick 👍
