    Amazing views, amazing dams, amazing geology, amazing barn. Nine miles, must have taken you most of the day to complete, including all the going backwards and forwards to set up, pick up the camera etc. Brilliant.

      Thanks Paul, much appreciated. To be honest, the filming took me just over 6½ hours, so around the normal time really. Despite it being over 9 miles, I probably walked longer stretches in between shooting as I still ended up with the similar number of shots at the end of the day 👍

    Hi Patrick. Thought I’d catch up on your latest video from my B&B on the Pennine Way. Another fantastic walk there and one of my favourites. The views are indeed stunning. It’s certainly a tough climb up but very rewarding. Thanks for the kind words too. My feet still remember the 9 edges challenge. It was a tough walk 😆

    Beautiful walk. I'll be up on Lost Lad and Back Tor next week as part of my Ethel Challenge. Retired January and heard about the Ethel Challenge. I've never really walked the Peaks before so this is giving me a good way of seeing places I wouldn't normally see.

    English weather is perfect for hiking all year long. I live in TX and 6 months out of the year, it's extremely hot. Even during the winter time the sun ray is very intense.

Your music on this one Patrick is simply outstanding and up there with your very best; I loved the haunting, melancholy atmosphere it has. Really superb. Great job.

    What a beautiful spot to choose for your lunch. It's gorgeous up there. I don't accept Facebook requests from unknowns either. At time s the music had a haunting tone, which really captured the walk, i loved it. Walking in the heat isn't very enjoyable. I prefer a cooler day myself, as it's more enjoyable. I recently watched a man run the pennine way in under three day's. It took him fifty eight hours. It would take me fifty eight years to run it. Great as always. Thank you so much!

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Před 2 lety +1

      The views are fab aren't they. Glad you liked my music chord progressions. My score for this came from having been inspired a while back after hearing some music by Karl Jenkins, which I thoguht was wonderful. Quite a sad story about the Lost Lad isn't it. I was pretty tired after filming this 9 mile walk, but surprisingly not as much as I thought actually. I think it might be because I walked for longer stretches on this before taking shots, so it took me the same amount of time to shoot this as I would have done for the shorter walks. It is odd receiving them requests without information. Your film brought back happy memories. However many walks we do, certain days stand out. My last walk over Derwent Edge was one such day. I have a photo (winter 1981) of the Salt Cellar, taken at the end of a long day's walk with thin snow covering the landscape, and my two companions climbing it.
