His insider suit was able to defeat individual members, and the Hellbat armor can hold its own against Superman 1 on 1. Batman has fought Spider Powered Beings, but since this is Batgirl against Gwen; she has little if any experience with Arachnid like people. But the statement that simply because they have powers they win against a member of the Batfamily; is way wrong and screams ignorance.

@Ashley Lake Except Hulk also has infinite scaling in his feat list as least as far as strength goes, and does have the ability to kill Broly by radiation poisoning. He also has held a planet together, destroyed a asteroid twice the size of earth, punched time and the fabric of reality (don't ask me how that works), tanked a 3 trillion ton punch (roughly the same as broly tanking planet hits), keeping a planet-sized monster from reaching earth by holding it back, etc. etc. This is gonna come down by either a fatal flaw of one of them - or just plain number crunching by comparing feats. Both do have similar feats - given what you described.
I love how they had to nerf ghost-spider to even give batwoman a chance because if she had her natural powers instead of the symbiot she wouldn't have had fire or sound weakness the only draw back is her lack of claws and invisibility but that's still leaves her overwhelming strength and precognitive spider scenes

The thing thats always forgotten in these kinds of matchups is while the Bats are amazing martial artists and can hit like a truck, any spider-powered character can punch hard enough to break a truck, if they are landing a hit to kill, you are dead. They even mention in the comics that when spider-man fights his rogues he is almost always pulling his punches. One hit against any unpowered hero by a spider, when they intend to kill, is going to end up with a hole in their chest.
For real. They always discount and downplay the spiders, but they're ridiculously powerful and hard to hit. They're just too well-rounded for most people.

Only problem I have is 15:43 when Batgirl could have simply let go of the grapple gun, potentially turning the whole fight back in her favor with a followup and a temporary escape to rethink.
She wouldn't have time to react, as Spider-Gwen is faster than her, even if she could, she won't be able to run after her legs has been crippled again after boulder hit her, let alone fight

I knew that Spider Gwen had this fight in the bag especially if she's anything like Spidey but what I didn't expect to see was when she cut Batgirl's throat now that caught me totally off guard. I guess she doesn't share Spidey's code against killing.
Deathbattle tends to disregard those rules. See Peter obliterating Bruce into chunks in the original Bat v Spider. She does have that code in the comics.
@@TheTaff512 Pretty much all the death battle fights are like these. There is usually no explanation why these fights begin with especially between the superhero good guys. There is usually no logical explanation when one hero meets another and this particular video provides one of the better examples of how illogical it is that Batgirl would suddenly just start fighting Gwen without even properly asking where she came from or her purpose for being there. When Gwen had appeared at or teleported into the Batcave, she did not act or behave in any way that would have appeared threatening to Batgirl to attack Gwen without at least having a conversation or dialogue. Even after Batgirl started attacking, Gwen was clearly not trying to fight back and had said things and acted in a way that should have indicated to Batgirl that Gwen was just trying to get away and had no real intention of being in the Batcave to being with. As much as I love most of all the death battle fight scenes, it's episodes like this one that are a bit too difficult to swallow with the uncharacteristic ways that they portray these heroes starting fights without any rhyme or reason. Nevertheless, I did indeed love the choreography of this fight and the accuracy of the girls' powers and abilities. If Batgirl or any other character acted as irrational and violence hungry as this version did, then Gwen definitely did the best she could in that situation. Thus, this psychotic violence crazed version of Batgirl had it coming with that slice to her throat.
Yes they did! That was a really nice Easter Egg/ Nod to the first live action Spiderman movie. Spider-Gwen was stronger, faster, and more agile than Bat Girl. For those reasons alone I’m glade Spider-Gwen won!
Too be fair the only reason spiderman 2099 died was bc if bruce stopping lyla hacking the bat suit but tbh I feel that miguel would win but if you really think about it Terry maginnis has the advantage as well due to spiderman 2099 technically being spliced with spider dna so Terry has fought many of those to know that he is trouble so between the two the fight may last hours and it's hard to choose who I would vote for bc I like terry maginnis and miguel ohara
Yeah, that was my thought when it was announced. Spider-Gwen has pretty much the same powers as Spider-Man, and while Batgirl has her own talents, her arsenal and fighting skills are pretty much the same as Batman's. Meaning that, unless she could counter the Spider-Sense, Batgirl was gonna lose. And while villains have found workarounds for the Spider-Sense in the past, they've specifically tailored those countermeasures after learning about it, meaning Barbara wasn't going to have a solution just sitting in her utility belt, which, per DB rules, meant she wouldn't have one. Gwen's symbiote vulnerabilities gave Barbara a better chance here, but she'd still have to figure out that's what she needed to use before Gwen pasted her, and she'd have to bypass the Spider-Sense to land those blows in the first place.
@@nessdragon actually I'd say that gwen, having a venom that gives her additional powers, is even stronger than peter and barbara, although she is a very skilled and intelligent fighter, still isn't quite as good as bruce at doing this. Hell no one is better than batman in what he does. So I'd say the result was even more obvious in this case
Yeah, they're some on the team that miss it as well. On the podcast, I think Ben was saying it has something to do with the way they write episodes now. When you have the "fight!" and "ko!" markers, they were saying that it was jacking up the flow and that the music didn't quiet sync up right. When they couldn't universally fit it in anymore, they scrapped the concept.
The concept of spider man (or in this case girl) being able to fall multiple stories and live with minimal injuries is funnily enough taken from the fact that most small spiders can survive falls relative to their own size that would kill a human when scaled to our size.. I've seen spiders fall over 8 feet onto the floor below and just get up to walk away cuz their bodies are so light the process of falling actually gives them lift to help slow them down.. doesnt work the same with bigger spiders like tarantulas tho 😂

They even stated in this fight that the Spider sense was the reason she lost here. Hell, we have characters beating those who are physically superior in past Death Battles. Just look at Guts vs Nightmare.
Fun fact, both Batgirl and spider Gwen have been voiced by Sapir Darmon in Hebrew dubs (Sapir voiced Barbara in young justice and Gwen in the spider verse film series).
Personally, I'd like to see them match up the names and do Black Cat vs. C(h)at Noir. For that matter, they should've just done Spider-Gwen vs. Ladybug. Spider-Gwen would still win mainly due to her Spider Sense, but it would've been a more interesting fight.

Even with spider sense, it only gives her a very short time to respond. A good fighter could still beat her. You just have to attack her in a way that she can't stop even if she knows it's coming.

I think she actually cut it, but regardless, characters breaking those webs is one of the great inconsistencies in comics. About the only stable benchmark is that Spider-Man can't break them.

That's the point. They test to see who would win. Spider Gwen won this one because powers are better than no powers. This show isn't putting two equally matched fictional characters and seeing who would win, it's putting any two similar characters against each other.

It depends, if the robot is built in the same logic a human is, where the main computer is placed in the head, with no wireless signaling, while it's battery is located within the main body in the torso, then yes, snapping off the head would indeed work.

My big thing here was if Barbara could learn what Gwen's weakness was, like in the Nightwing vs Daredevil, but compared to a blind fighter vs a visual fighter with more tricks up their sleeves it'd be a lot harder Also makes me wonder if there could be an extended form of deathbattle to see who has more long term planning, but knowing how convoluted plots can get normally, not even mentioning all the rewrites and comic revisions etc., it's probably be more work than it's worth
Tbf, Gwen has symbiote weaknesses that helped Babs but, Babs was unaware of them so couldn't take advantage of them. She has better chances of winning than Bruce does.
This is an easy win for Gwen. She’s much stronger and faster, and while Barbara is smarter and more experienced, it means almost nothing here. Her best shot is her stealth, but that’s hard countered by the spider-se- I feel like we’ve been here before have we been here before
Keep in mind gwens spider sense isn’t always effective she has been caught off guard before not saying Barbra wins but I feel like your not giving credit Where credit is due

I love that Gwen held back from killing Barbara until it became obvious there was no other way to leave the fight alive.
Only problem I have is 15:43 when Batgirl could have simply let go of the grapple gun, potentially turning the whole fight back in her favor with a followup and a temporary escape to rethink.
She wouldn't have time to react, as Spider-Gwen is faster than her, even if she could, she won't be able to run after her legs has been crippled again after boulder hit her, let alone fight

I knew that Spider Gwen had this fight in the bag especially if she's anything like Spidey but what I didn't expect to see was when she cut Batgirl's throat now that caught me totally off guard.
I guess she doesn't share Spidey's code against killing.
Deathbattle tends to disregard those rules. See Peter obliterating Bruce into chunks in the original Bat v Spider. She does have that code in the comics.
@@TheTaff512 Pretty much all the death battle fights are like these. There is usually no explanation why these fights begin with especially between the superhero good guys. There is usually no logical explanation when one hero meets another and this particular video provides one of the better examples of how illogical it is that Batgirl would suddenly just start fighting Gwen without even properly asking where she came from or her purpose for being there. When Gwen had appeared at or teleported into the Batcave, she did not act or behave in any way that would have appeared threatening to Batgirl to attack Gwen without at least having a conversation or dialogue. Even after Batgirl started attacking, Gwen was clearly not trying to fight back and had said things and acted in a way that should have indicated to Batgirl that Gwen was just trying to get away and had no real intention of being in the Batcave to being with. As much as I love most of all the death battle fight scenes, it's episodes like this one that are a bit too difficult to swallow with the uncharacteristic ways that they portray these heroes starting fights without any rhyme or reason. Nevertheless, I did indeed love the choreography of this fight and the accuracy of the girls' powers and abilities. If Batgirl or any other character acted as irrational and violence hungry as this version did, then Gwen definitely did the best she could in that situation. Thus, this psychotic violence crazed version of Batgirl had it coming with that slice to her throat.

Yeah, that was my thought when it was announced. Spider-Gwen has pretty much the same powers as Spider-Man, and while Batgirl has her own talents, her arsenal and fighting skills are pretty much the same as Batman's. Meaning that, unless she could counter the Spider-Sense, Batgirl was gonna lose. And while villains have found workarounds for the Spider-Sense in the past, they've specifically tailored those countermeasures after learning about it, meaning Barbara wasn't going to have a solution just sitting in her utility belt, which, per DB rules, meant she wouldn't have one. Gwen's symbiote vulnerabilities gave Barbara a better chance here, but she'd still have to figure out that's what she needed to use before Gwen pasted her, and she'd have to bypass the Spider-Sense to land those blows in the first place.
Yeah and honestly the fight scenes were kind of anti climate compared to other ones
@@nessdragon actually I'd say that gwen, having a venom that gives her additional powers, is even stronger than peter and barbara, although she is a very skilled and intelligent fighter, still isn't quite as good as bruce at doing this. Hell no one is better than batman in what he does. So I'd say the result was even more obvious in this case

Yeah, they're some on the team that miss it as well. On the podcast, I think Ben was saying it has something to do with the way they write episodes now. When you have the "fight!" and "ko!" markers, they were saying that it was jacking up the flow and that the music didn't quiet sync up right. When they couldn't universally fit it in anymore, they scrapped the concept.

The concept of spider man (or in this case girl) being able to fall multiple stories and live with minimal injuries is funnily enough taken from the fact that most small spiders can survive falls relative to their own size that would kill a human when scaled to our size.. I've seen spiders fall over 8 feet onto the floor below and just get up to walk away cuz their bodies are so light the process of falling actually gives them lift to help slow them down.. doesnt work the same with bigger spiders like tarantulas tho 😂

Even with spider sense, it only gives her a very short time to respond. A good fighter could still beat her. You just have to attack her in a way that she can't stop even if she knows it's coming.

Also makes me wonder if there could be an extended form of deathbattle to see who has more long term planning, but knowing how convoluted plots can get normally, not even mentioning all the rewrites and comic revisions etc., it's probably be more work than it's worth
