Kandyman! That’s to easy, dark color center of the door, do a video with a silver or gold and 6” blend room. I’m just frustrated, because that’s the type of repairs we have to do at our shop, basically no such thing as a blend on certain jobs. Love your videos, you rock!

@@kandyman5315Happy Memorial Day weekend!! If the repair area of the door panel featured on this video would have been about an inch away from the door edge side that is closest to the front fender, would the blending process have been the same?
Sadly, had my first burn-through ( clear / base coat) while polishing to prep for a ceramic coating on a mint 2000 BMW E46 coupe in Alpine White and man I am frustrated. I assume that I would mimic what you did with the damaged and untouched substrate area and ensuring to keep the repair at a minimum. But in my case, being the repair area is so close to the edge of the panel next to the front fender, how should the blend be processed? Darn, I wish I could send you an image so you could briefly review and provide your thoughts / feedback.

    • @conorlee9241

Because 800 knocks down the orange peal ,and better adhesion , and helps with the clear laying down nicely.

Yes, that BMW is going to scrap after the first owner for sure. Imagine the maintenance burden on all the electronic crap in it. "Oh sir you need a new door control panel, that will be $5000 plus labor and programming" After a few years it will be "Sorry sir, parts are no longer available for this car" This is industrial waste at the worst. I own two older BMW X5's and some parts are getting hard to find for them (E53 and E70) so imagine something like this with only a very small production run. Love the painting tips though.
