So @KofieWhy decided to start the NBA over from 1983 and accept every proposed rule change. It went... well... you'll see. Fumble Dimension!!!!

WANT MORE KOFIE?! WELL I’M RIGHT HERE (more stuff on my channel) 🫡
The fumble dimension videos you do are excellent. Can’t wait to see what you have on your own channel; will definitely check that out later.
Out of curiosity, a question I’ve always had:
Do you know what music track was the first one in the video where you and Jon made golf courses? Music isn’t listed for that video.
Thank you for making the Timberwolves great, even if it tore apart the fabric of reality.
@@gamemeister27these are the bare minimum requirements for the Twolves to be successful 😭
@@Sutidamuskunthe sad truth 😭
Do you think if I tag @LondonKnights here as well they'll finally send you a jersey?
“Tim Duncan pulls a Larry Bird and joins the Lakers” is the most cursed basketball related thing I’ve ever heard in my life. This truly is the Fumble Dimension.
Was just gonna say this, the stupidest thing ever and yet it makes sense in this batshit simulation
Lol
As a Spurs fan, my life flashed before my eyes hearing that.
Larry The Laker Legend 😂
I knew that the only way Minnesota could win a championship was if we lived in opposite land
I love that Vancouver just showed up one year while the juggernauts were battling it out and said, “I’ll take one championship, thanks!” and disappeared back to oblivion😂
Raptors 2019:
The Toronto Raptors did that in real life lol
Imagine getting drafted #1 the YEAR the $250,000,000 rookie annual contract ends.
When the NFL nuked their rookie contracts, the #1 overall pick went from $50m guaranteed for Sam Bradford to $22m for Cam Newton. Not quite as bad, but still pretty rough.
"PISSED" - Kofie 2023
😂😂😂😂😂
What the hell was the budget per team for the whole roster and who is paying it? Imagine the cost of a ticket to the game or sponsorship money or TV rights deal.
That's a HUGE amount of money! 😂😂😂😂😂
EXPENSIVE points if the MVP averages 9pts and 6ass per game - holy crap.
At $250million for rookie season across 82 regular season game is more than $3million per game as a rookie - DAMN!!!!!!
If scoring at MVP rate he's earning $333,333+ per point 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
OMG that's INSANE - how much for a hot dog at these games?
Goddamn I'd turn into Oliver Miller overnight if I got $250 mil for one year.
As a Timberwolves fan I see this Fumble Dimension as an absolute win
Just wait until Part 3 when the T-Wolves still manage to get a high draft pick and finally end up taking Curry over Jonny Flynn in this dimension 😂
Jajaajaj
As a Magic fan i'll take those two championships 🥲
Timberwolves preseason is evidence that actions in the Fumble Dimension somehow affect our own
🐺🐱🐜
Kobe's situation here is grimly funny because he modeled so much of his game, work ethic, and goals after Michael Jordan. In a universe where Jordan fell the hell off in record time, we're similarly left with a Kobe who plateaued at the turn of the century.
This comment made my day
Honestly this makes me feel better ngl
"modeled" is too nice of a word. i think "blatant and lesser imitation" is probably more accurate. looks like that fits kobe in this scenanrio too lmao

The increasingly deranged rookie contracts and concentration of talent into few teams is hilarious. It's like you can hear In the Hall of the Mountain King playing increasingly louder
Rookie contacts are tied to the salary cap so when there is no salary cap the game doesn't know what to do
Kofie accidentally brought about superteams about 25 years early
I need to clip Kofie saying "the Kings destroy the Lakers" and listen to it over and over. It will heal me.
The year is 2014. LeBron has regressed to 69, nice. Chandler Parsons leads the league in scoring with 8.1 per game. Minnesota has not lost since 2006.
Brook Lopez wins MVP and Anthony Bennett wins ROY
Darko Miličić is an 89 overall, while Dwyane Wade retires after just six seasons with a Greg Oden-esque injury history. The actual Greg Oden flourishes with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have four straight WCF appearances. They get swept by Minnesota every year. Michael Jordan is fired as the GM of the Chicago White Sox after a single season in which they go 37-125.
the random guy in the pistons jersey who thought he was on the team celebrating with the heat had me crying
This happened in like 4 or 5 years iirc. I was present for a lot of this sim and it kept happening. We have no idea why.
"at least it's not the timberwolves again"
16:34 Who introduced a 14 second shot clock reset on a 45 second shot clock?
35 seconds left on the shot clock, offensive rebound, nope, now you've got 14 seconds.
Some real 4D chess in basketball strategy lmao
Honestly, even if it cost us MJ, kinda like how Olajuwon is getting all the flowers in this sim
Watched him play here growing up. He missed out on SO much fame solely because he played in Houston. Who cares about Houston?

I'll pass on sacrificing peak MJ & Kobe for that
as someone who doesn't follow sports, i love nothing more than combing through the comments to see who is mad and why. It's like watching history buffs see the outcome of wars change. delightful.
As a Minnesotan the biggest sign that you broke the game is that you actually got Minnesota to be a consistent powerhouse team 😂
How did Minnesota get all the money in the first place? I know winning brings a boost but I don’t see a world where Bird and the Lakers dynasty doesn’t carry on their financial legacy
Absolutely could not handle James Worthy sitting on the bench with the goggles on.
I wish this could be done in Madden, MLB and NHL. I'd start up a re-write of NFL history in a heartbeat.
You can do something similar in Out Of The Park Baseball. Reset it back to the early days of baseball and let the simulation run itself
@@therane2518And, it can be done in old Maddens.
Or at least, I tried to do in 2008, and brought Rodgers to NY Giants because he got sent off from GB.
I want that in Madden so bad, I'd buy it in a heartbeat to see if my bills end their suffering at least once
You can kind of do it to an extent in Madden
Specifically madden 20 (this is similar to something I'm doing (resim from 2002-2020 nfl draft) although rules changes and salary cap options are not an option for the cpu (the user controls it at all times
Bengal has a video resimulating the nfl from 2002, biggest thing is just making the rosters and draft classes somewhat accurately
Y'know, this series has had me realize one thing.
I really like the TImberwolves old logo.
It's so oggy.
Thank you Kofie. Now that you've changed the timeline, I'm now in the NBA. Unbelievable...
Something not mentioned about the lack of scoring that I think is incredibly noteworthy is the Elam Ending is set to 3rd Quarter score +35.
If the average score around the league has dropped to about 60 points that means for the first 3 quarters of the game only 25 points are scored on average and over 50 percent of points are scored in the 4th Quarter alone.
Essentially 75 percent of the game is a useless waste of time.
It also probably means that the 4th quarter's going on for, like, 30-40 minutes, which sounds like the type of basketball that gets played in hell
I love the concept of teams leaving in their nobodies until a stoppage of play so they can quickly sub-in their actual players to try and score for a couple possessions lmao
But yet this league could, for not an insignificant span of time, afford to pay rookies 250 million+ per year 😂
A Minnesota Sports Dynasty tells you all you need to know about the brokenness of this dimension
If anything, this little experiment is showing us that the Salary Cap is a good idea.
I thought thats what baseball was for
This series pretty much inspired me to do something similar to this with MLB in Out of the Park Baseball. Some highlights I can name off-hand were the Mariners being good in the 80s, the Expos just won the 1988 WS, Ken Griffey Junior being drafted by the White Sox, and Greg Maddux being on the Reds
I'm assuming that one day, when Jr was in the clubhouse with his father, the Twins coach told him to be quiet, and hated the Twins ever since?
M’s being good in the 80’s.
If that happened in reality, then 95 may not hold the same significance.
I love alternate history sims. My favorite thing to do in OOTP is make it so any player from any era can appear in the draft and see what kind of crazy-ass teams show up. Mix that with super random player progression/regression and you get hall of famer Jean Segura who played his whole career for the Dodgers in the 70s and 80s.
@KatyStClair-nz7ug never tried out the random debut Sims but I can see how they're fun, I might do that down the line. For what I did now I used the game itself to decide development instead of having the players play similar to how they did IRL
Did the Ms win anything or did we continue to come up short? 😢
"I thought a 'Bob' reference would lead us to our home universe." That is brilliant stuff.
The whole Jordan situation makes me wonder how many players with amazing potential have been wasted because of situations out of their control, such as coaching
This is NFL but just look at Philip Rivers, a quarterback that put up numbers similar to Peyton Manning and Drew Brees for years, put together the only time an NFL team has had the #1 offense and #1 defense at the same time, and never even sniffed the Superbowl.
Apparently the game has a behind the scenes "bust probability" where players have a chance to just turn out to be terrible no matter what. I actually kind of like this idea since in real life lots of high draft picks turn out to be pretty disappointing but in a legacy mode, knowledge of the future would give the player an advantage and let you build some absurdly stacked teams. Like you would know that guys like MJ or Kobe are worth giving up pretty much everything to acquire if they always turned out as good as they were in real life, but the fact that they have a chance to be a flop means that you're encouraged to play it more like managers at the time actually would, where they just have to play the odds and hope for the best.
@@CatCheshireThe Every year the players go through a dice roll on progression/regression based on their potential. All players are somewhat weighted towards regression. In any given year well over 50% of the league will either stay the same or get worse. That's why drafted players are necessary.
the fans on the sidelines wearing Jordans is irrationally funny to me. like imagine if people were walking around in raja bell 11s
I think in this universe Jordan ends up becoming an equipment designer for multiple sports and Jordans are essentially the Jofa of this universe.
In this universe Nike probably went under because they couldn't market MJ so I guess the "Jordans" were more like Adidas Hakeems
Can’t wait for Part 3 of this experiment when the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats win the NBA title!
That scenario will break the fumble dimension in half 😂

@@leebarbs7176that’s why it happens in the Fumble Dimension, we just saw a multi-part story about the real Vikings’ foibles, here the Timberwolves just came in and dominated.
Kofie really said "I'm gonna do to the entire golden era of basketball what twitter did to the 2001 Mariners."
Kofie done turned the NBA into the Scottish Premiership.😂
As a timberwolves fan, this is as good as it gets😂
22:48 it’s interesting that the longer shot clock led teams to mimic the strategy of a football team with a lead - focus less on scoring and more on preventing your opponent from getting the chance to score
I think it says more about how awful 2k's AI is. It really struggles when the rules change. Elam really screwed up the way it works. I was present for much of this sim and things got really boring/lame for a few years with elam in place. The AI is just really bad and only knows how to play a couple ways.
Can’t wait to watch my historically accurate Wolves win more championships
For Minnesota sports there is no cosmic justice. We are damned for the crimes of others to lose games we were not meant to lose. This still rings true in the Fumble Dimension by KG putting down the Timberwolves like a sick dog in the 1999 finals. Even when our franchise lives eternal behind the great Shaq Diesel-powered wheel we are forced to look at what could have- should have- been.
You win 7 titles in 12 years and win like 66 + games like 8 times as least ???
@@Chicagoben He's talking about the losses, not the wins.
@@utoesc6241 i think ben is saying there's no reason to start weeping over losing a finals when you already won 7 lmao
@@broncos435 You have to understand the mindset of the eternal underdog. Your whole reason for being becomes the mourning of that which was not achieved. The wins feel like a scam in comparison. I know this, my football team won their first trophy a couple years back, the one trophy in over 130 years of the history of the club. I didn't know how to celebrate. We did celebrate, I mean we made the moves, we did the party, but inside we knew it was a joke. It felt hollow. We are not winners and we will never be winners. Victory is survival, victory is having hope stand strong through defeat. Victory as winning? Virgin territory that is, and we all love the view of virgin territory at the edge of a cliff. No need to venture into it.
As a Timberwolves fan, I am pretty happy with how this turned out
Its interesting the simulation does not simulate a players union. Ive never played 2k so maybe it just doesnt come up but lock outs are pretty integral part of the way the league evolves so to ignore them is interesting
Man, imagine if the Tree Puppies had a quarter of what they got in the sim. I want to live in the world where they won even one championship.
That ending is up there with "what does that say about baseball, nothin good" from the Barry Bonds Chart Party! Incredible work Kofie :)
This series is probably the best argument in favor of the salary cap for fans who _aren't_ fans of dynasties. And that applies to any sport. Sure, the modern cap-era NBA has seen its fair share of powerhouse teams, like the Spurs and Warriors, but it's very rare to see a team win back-to-back titles anymore. That also applies to any sport that has instituted a salary cap.
And before anyone comes in with the argument that players make less with a cap, 2 counters: 1) a salary floor is just as effective, if not more, at effecting parity (one of many reasons the Stanley Cup is widely considered the toughest championship trophy to win in major North American pro sports), and 2) most players would make basically the same money whether or not a cap was in place-only the star players "lose out" on all those extra millions.
James worthy coaching with goggles on killed me, 😂
I hope you guys make graphics and stuff at the end of the series and give an overview of the league during these years. That would be really cool
The worst part of this timeline: No Space Jam would get made.
Very true. But I think with a different star (Hakeem, maybe?) that kind of movie could still be made, it would just look different, maybe be a different movie altogether. Butterfly effect and allat. Who knows what happens in an alternate Space Jam - Beyblades play basketball? Hakeem becomes a Beyblade?! 😆
They make it with Clyde Drexler now.
@@danangell5482 Could be!
I’ll always remember those “I wanna scream for Hakeem” commercials with Spike Jonez
Kofie, your fumble dimension videos are always top tier content. Calling Shaq's inital contract a "money laundering contract" made me laugh hysterically 😂. Love it bro.
Vancouver winning the '97 title makes this version of NBA history official canon for me.
As someone who moved to Vancouver a few years back, it warms my heart to see them win a championship that this city will probably never see.
you still got the canucks, but theres a limited amount of finals losses before the entire city burns down though

This is the fumbliest fumble dimension yet. I'm lovin' it.
The Clippers being an Eastern conference team into the 2000s (unless I missed a rule change somewhere along the way) is crazy
conferences aren't factored into the playoffs. top 16 records regardless of conference
@@jameswatson8387 ngl, I had completed forgotten about that, after the debacle that stemmed from the salary cap/luxury tax double whammy

Would be cool to see a Fumble Dimension of Michael Jordan playing the rest of his career in the MLB

So hyped, wonder if this episode is the first magic chip
I'm glad you decided to do this series. I recently went through the entirety of MyEra as well (without implementing so many rule changes) and was also baffled by the seemingly nonsensical player development. It made sense if dudes didn't get playing time, so their potential fell, but without reason there would be stars who just never came close to potential. If you ever figure out what factors into these things....let me know. I'm still lost.
we need more of these ASAP
I'm fully expecting Darko to be the most dominant force in the league in this simulation.
The fumble dimension videos you do are excellent.
Out of curiosity, a question I’ve always had:
Do you know what music track was the first one in the video where you and Jon made golf courses? Music isn’t listed for that video.
This is so bizarre. I've done similar experiments, and I haven't seen things go out of control like this. For instance, when I removed salary cap, salaries didn't really change too much, though super teams did form fast. And I've never seen a rapid decline of Michael Jordan like this.
What I find the most bizarre is that the most recent expansion teams seem to be dominating the league. The Timberwolves and Magic dominated for a long time, and then after the Canada expansion, the Raptors and Grizzlies are in the finals (I'm posting this half-way through watching this, so things could change later on). That was the last 4 expansion teams at the time. But we didn't see the Hornets and Heat get that big of a boost, but it can't be a coincidence.
Wow this is truly diabolical content right here I love it.
Hell yeah Part threeeeeee
Pretty Good, Episode 12: Troy Men's basketball coach Don Maestri packs up some VHS tapes, sends them to Paul Westhead, the coach at Loyola-Marymount, and...devours some of the most radioactive, mutated basketball the world has ever seen.
Fumble Dimension, Episode 13 if you count all the two-parter episodes as one episode: "In 1990, the NBA did the same exact thing but with 2020's Iowa football. It's the Fumble Dimension. Time orb shape have no meaning here."
@7:55: "Hakeem decides to sign with the Warriors..."
As a San Francisco native and Houston graduate, this sentence alone made my day.
