What an interesting lock. And the mushroom pins actually look like mushrooms. Careful with those shiny locks they can act like a mirror in some cases... ;-)
just curious, does seeing the key of the lock in advance of picking give you a clue about how the lock will perform while picking and give you a plan of attack? or is it all by feel alone and looking at the keyway? with this lock there is two sets of pins, without seeing the key first, how could you know where to place your pick? or that there is even a second set of pins that need to be picked. I"m amazed and confused at why i like watching these vids , good work!
FWIW, those small screws look like they have a little dot near the slot, which would make them not Philips (nor Pozidriv), but JIS B; using a Philips driver on those can quickly strip them if they're tight, so if you get into a situation where you're regularly facing them, consider getting dedicated drivers or bits.
Ppl very cool .you find the unusual. locks nicely done on the spp'd and brake down .well explained. power screw gun would have saved sometime lol.thanks for sharing love the lock.😎😎😎😎😎
I'm told that the main goal of this and similar locks in Japan is to encourage the would be burglar to move on. 70% give up and move on if the pick takes longer than 2 minutes, because why risk getting caught? Of course, if the lock is expensive, that means the residence has money or valuables that the lock is intended to protect, so there's the reason why it's only 70%.
Funny, Bosnian Bill just did the same thing, though not as clear as LPL. In both cases, neither looked like, what I imagined. Personally I like being able to put a ... face to the voice.
I would have called this video “Mushroom Soup”. On another note, is that an anti-drill pin on the tail of the plug close to the detent dimple, at time marker 8:50?
I see you taking those locks apart I like you to do me a favor when you take one lock the part I just one time put all that back together I want to see if you can put it back together and I also want to know what best lock you would get for your own door or what the best padlock all the time I see you knew how to pick him almost no time whatsoever love you keep up the good job bye-bye
It didn't matter this time, but those might not be Phillips screws. I only say as much because you said it came from Japan. They have a drive a little bit different called JIS (Japanese industrial standard) if it is and you use a jis screw driver, the two might hold together when you are starting the screw
But if you had no idea of the architecture of the lock Could you feel the extra pins and features and how long would it all take if you could AND that even includes your ability to look up the lock on your cellphone because you would have that available
Phrases common to LPL dimple cylinder videos, Mario speedrun videos, mycology survey videos, and shaming videos on Pornhub: "another tiny little mushroom."
You say that you could not in all likelihood drill this lock due to the steel pins. I have to wonder what would happen if you used a carbide two flute end mill in in a drill. Probably chew through that like it was butter.
3:44 - I'm not a locksmith, but I've taken an interest in your videos. That being said, what is a bible? You've used that term often, but I'm having trouble ascertaining what part of the lock you're referring to.
From unitedlocksmith.net “Sometimes referred to as the lock housing or the book, the bible of a lock remains stationary during the use of a key. The reason it will be referred to as the bible is mainly due to preference, and because it is a term that is difficult to confuse or conflate with other parts of the lock. When the proper key is inserted into the lock (or lock picking is successful), the springs and driver pins will pass the shear line and be in the bible exclusively.”
Why don’t you ever show locks you couldn’t pick? Also I’d like to see videos of you trying to pick locks for the first time, seems like you perfect your picking method for each lock before you do a video.
@@elrhikngd Last time I checked Abloy still existed and he hasn't picked a Bowley yet either (although that one is at least pickable, just very hard and requires special tools)
Not unique and done incorrect, this is a Mul-T-Lock knock off. Side pins are NOT spring loaded in Mul-T-Lock. The side pins cuts on the key draw the side pins into the plug allowing the plug to turn. Any attempt to "pick" would drive the side pins INTO the shell stopping the plug from turning.
Japan will never give up without giving a fight. While the lock got picked, at least it revealed LPL's face
@ 2:49 ~ the glimpse
that was their plan all along :o
Oh god yeah!! very observant ✌✌☮☮❤❤
LPL was Macedonian Singer Toše Proeski ALL ALONG! The news of his death were a falsehood so he could fulfil his dream of being LPL.
I didn't even notice until you said something
Have you ever considered designing your own perfect lock including the best features you've come across? You could call it the Lawyer Lock.
How about Legally Binding Lock?
What an interesting lock. And the mushroom pins actually look like mushrooms. Careful with those shiny locks they can act like a mirror in some cases... ;-)
That thing is awesome. I really like the style of mushroom pins and the 2 different angles chosen for the pin rows.
We did spot your "happy face" @ 2:47 :D
Scruffy; very Miami vice.
That is some next level video "picking" !
i wouldn't say happy
i saw that too! i love the LPL! it must be so fun to investigate something with fine tools, and then get to check the inside. awesome hobby
LPL looks totally different I’ve been imagined.
Very well done, you make things seem so easy. keep up the good work.
Great job! Your disassembly is admirable. It really required patience.
You make it look so easy! Clinically picked... Good video!
Nice work on that lock! Very cool design with pins literally coming from different angles!
awesome Lock! very well picked and explained 👍☺
My wife got me a Hammerhead electric screwdriver a few years ago. It has held up well. It has lights and recharges with a standard phone cable.
Very nice Picking and disassemble. Interesting lock. The mushroom pins look like pellet gun pellets. Wad cutters
Great job picking as usual brother and thanks for sharing it with us

til thank you
a mystery revealed. thanks!
also, good thing he didnt have an electric driver. wrong bit and it just strips faster.

Man, that lock is so cool. That would be a lot of fun to re pin and play around with.
Entertaining little lock. I'd enjoy having a go at it.
Nice pick! Really cool lock.
BB and LPL both demonstrate that security pins are no problem for an experienced lock picker.
The mushroom lock, brought to you by the country which invented Mario.
2:48 fAcE rEvEaL
Clever touch with the Phillip screws
linus yale's amazing invention still being made and sold all over the world!
That is so impressive.
You make it look so easy but I know it is much harder.
How in the heck does he get these locks back together? He is not human. :)
he is 2:48
huk lock disassembly kit !!! its awesome
Unintended Face reveal?
Funny, Bosnian Bill just did the same thing, though not as clear as LPL. In both cases, neither looked like, what I imagined. Personally I like being able to put a ... face to the voice.
R.P. Rosen...I thought both just never had a face!
Right in the nostril.
Dark hair, my guess Italian origin.
Michael Aitchison Everyone in the Mediterranean is known for black hair.
Keep the hand screwdriver. It fits the manual lock picking esthetic.
I would have called this video “Mushroom Soup”. On another note, is that an anti-drill pin on the tail of the plug close to the detent dimple, at time marker 8:50?
Are those little pins hardened after being sized?
Nice lock!
Japanese lock did a "Banzai" on you there lol
I see you taking those locks apart I like you to do me a favor when you take one lock the part I just one time put all that back together I want to see if you can put it back together and I also want to know what best lock you would get for your own door or what the best padlock all the time I see you knew how to pick him almost no time whatsoever love you keep up the good job bye-bye
Yo we heard you liked picking locks, so we put a lock in your lock so you can pick while you pick
Where did this came from? House lock?
One mushroom from each row has a lot thinner "hat" - does it serve some purpose?
Would love to see this pinned up as a challenge lock 😂
Very interesting lock
Nice lock, reminds me a bit of the Mauer Crypto although on yours there is one row pins less.
Have you seen/tried the Mauer Crypto?
Mauer Crypto looks like a very nice euro cylinder lock.
This is, I think, the only time I've ever heard LPL describe a pin as "springy"
It didn't matter this time, but those might not be Phillips screws. I only say as much because you said it came from Japan. They have a drive a little bit different called JIS (Japanese industrial standard) if it is and you use a jis screw driver, the two might hold together when you are starting the screw
So, you're saying there's jis in my lock?
Or should I put jis in my lock?
It's the next video [500] going to be really special?
But if you had no idea of the architecture of the lock Could you feel the extra pins and features and how long would it all take if you could AND that even includes your ability to look up the lock on your cellphone because you would have that available
arent those mushrooms pins been influenced by air gun wadcutter pellets??? :D
Are you sure there Phillips or JIS?
I guess the reason why all the locks are pickable is the slack or space without precision of the mechanism.
Without any clearance, you wouldn't be able to operate the lock. It would seize from temperature change or any abnormalities.
Am I the only one who saw his actual face?He almost looks like my brother in his 40s.
I pictured him Germanic with blonde hair
Phrases common to LPL dimple cylinder videos, Mario speedrun videos, mycology survey videos, and shaming videos on Pornhub: "another tiny little mushroom."
It took him longer to take it apart then picking it lol
You say that you could not in all likelihood drill this lock due to the steel pins. I have to wonder what would happen if you used a carbide two flute end mill in in a drill. Probably chew through that like it was butter.
Could anyone suggest me what similar european-made lock could I've seen in 1980s?
My first thought was Abloy protec, but that didn't turn up until much later. www.abloy.co.uk/en/abloy/abloy-co-uk/solutions1/mechanisms/
So locks with pins are pickable?..
you think wafer locks arent pickable?
Standard hook in 25 thousands? Wow, you must be faster than Bruce Li.

This is the only video in which I have seen your face.
Megacrossu
Only good lock with mega in the name...

Sooo you'd love to watch Hollywood movies and shows before final editing? Yea right.
@@elrhikngd Last time I checked Abloy still existed and he hasn't picked a Bowley yet either (although that one is at least pickable, just very hard and requires special tools)
@@DeeSnow97 he has picked abloy, just not the protect series.
Those look more like flat point air pellets than mushrooms.
U gotta screen ur vids better before uploading, great pick, if i didnt have the key how would u know about second set of pins?
Oh, a face reveal
Not much room for the springs and driver pins in that one.
Holly shit you can see his face at 2:48
any video without the word Picked and Gutted I wanna know those brands
You need to offer TheLawPickingLawyer T Shirts; ect... I’m getting into picking being of you! You’ll see a new YT channel, not reveal the name, yet.
huh, 2:50 unintentional face revel?
2:47 for face reveal (kinda) ;p
You should pick them without looking at the key first. It gives you way too much information.
Freddy Fox 500 he probably does, prior to going on camera
I was thinking that, but then the reality is that anyone doing this for real could simply google the lock anyway.
Face reveal (kinda)……. at 2:47
L.P.L. LOL
Lockman MegaCross.........hmmmmmmm...........any gamers on here see the resemblance?
2:46 for face reveal.
2:48 we know what you look like
