I work at a retirement home and yeah it’s not a generational thing it really is just people not wanting to change and learn. Like no joke I’ve met some of the chillest old people in my life that have genuinely become close friends of mine and I’m in my early 20s, tattooed, gay as hell. It’s just the inability to accept change, not a generational thing
it´s a thing they grew up with. Most of the old people who are homophobic are (how the word suggest) pretty afraid of the concept of gay relationships. It´s probably deeply connected to their subconscious mind because the way they were raised. Either way, it´s irrational and ignorant.
i think it's just the most prominent in older people. most people that get irrationally upset at me at work, wear MAGA hats, refuse to wear masks or are generally just rude are older people.
your ability to change is diminished as you get older typically. I can't blame old people for being the way that most people their age are.
I agree 100% man- my grandparents say a lot of politically incorrect shit but it’s never from a place of malice. And like yeah, they adapt slower, but there’s a HUGE difference between “This isn’t how I learned it, therefore it is wrong” and “this isn’t how I learned it, but it looks like that works so I will try it”
