Saw him live twice. One of those was when he was trying out material in a pub in Kentish town, north London, ahead of a big venue tour. He trialled the joke about rollups being practically a salad. The gig was in front of no more than 30 people. I went downstairs for a pee in the break as he came up, and he gave a little pleasant "alright?" nod. He had a ciggie and a pint outside afterwards and chatted with a little group of three or four. My impression is of a lovely and kind man, who was also ridiculously funny.

  • @user-cn3zq2zu2o

He's bang on about the Jeremy Vine show. Jeremy Vine was the prime reason that the people in the office I used to work with clubbed in to buy a DAB radio, so we could listen to music rather than so-called debate. He just picked toxic debates to get the extreme fuckwits to phone in... we were tempted to phone in and say 'I can see both sides of the argument', and kill the vibe.

I'll be honest, I never found Sean's stand up nearly as funny as his off the cuff stuff (or his "scripted" off the cuff routines on 8 out of 10 cats, etc). His response to the heckler was the funniest part by far. Very funny quick witted man, he'll be greatly missed.

The Jeremy Vine show described how I’ve thought about it for years. Sooo spot on! If that had been Jeremy in the audience he wouldn’t have just sounded drunk There would’ve been that sickly sincere tone in his voice that I’m pleased to say I don’t listen to any longer. Ronnie Wood for me! I don’t care how sharp he is 😮
