    The funny thing is that the 8 "pre-bosses" before Galdera actually take much less time to beat. I killed all of them in about 30 minutes, but Galdera itself took about 2 hours then.

      I mean, Galdera isnt very hard. Even in the second game you can literally kill him with your entire party at lvl 1 without subjobs. You can literally just spam winnehildes battlecry in the first phase to win, and same with aebers reckoning and sorcerer spells with aelfrics in the second one. Or switch, not like it matters.

      Get real and make up your mind dude, either you get to this somehow at level 1 by avoiding the entire stock of one shots from all the previous bosses or you get the good abilities by (You Guessed It!) leveling up...
      I also used suboptimal builds to beat him cause the runelord Tressa cheese wasn't my style to beat my favorite game, but don't get over here and say "OH, it's easy, I'm just that good and you are noob" just to then give the worst and most contradicted arguments.

    This is not actually a language... It has some latin words, but others just don't mean anything from what I've gathered...
    I think they might have taken words from latin and another language while writing these lyrics... maybe there is some japanese in there?
    The words I could understand were words relating to the different elements spells use in the game (ventus, nocta, lux, ignis)...
    I tried putting it through google tanslate, but most of it is just gibberish...
    However I think this is supposed to be a song about how Galdera is going to consume everything and the world is going to end now. Galdera is going to consume the dark, the light, the elements at 0:39... one line is something about the night and a vine and I think that could mean something like "Galdera the dark god is the beginning and end" or maybe that darkness will envelop everything...
    Probably the only one who knows what it means is the person that wrote it... but I get why it's written this way.
    We understand some of it, but aren't even close to understanding all of it, which is pretty fitting for the battle theme of a god, in a game set in a fantasy world...

    • @anxietyinducing6601
      @anxietyinducing6601 Před 2 lety +16

      I think it's mostly likely the case of invented language being used here like Nier Automata osts with some latin words mixed in. But then people on reddit are apparently finding words that can actually form meaningful sentences so I don't know.
      Probably most likely the case of Japanese composer mixing and matching what sounds cool and impactful rather than those lines actually meaning something.

(reparty/re allocate the classes)
    the 2nd time i tried, i think i was levelled like in the 90s, it was way easier at least for first phase and all 8 bosses, but it was also very close for the 2nd phase. buffing turns and nuking strategy works in general lol.
    knowing the weaknesses helped alot as well in the 2nd time.

    I just beat Galdera finally, after this long. I pretty much picked up my old savefile from the release days of the nintendo switch version and went to work on the game.
    The first phase was tremendously difficult, if I made a crucial mistake that was it, I was done for.
    The second one? Not so much, Olberic shredded through the boss like he was a god with Warmaster.
    I had Fortitude with him, and for whatever reason he was at 1 HP left, then I gave him Alephan's Enlightment(which I didn't know if it was going to work to begin with due to Aelfric's not working on divine skills, mind you) which then resulted in Olberic delivering Galdera the ass whooping of its life with about 64k per hit, essentially banishing it to the shadow realm once more.
    Blade status: Unbending.

    Finally beat this guy a few days ago! My first run, I put my best party for the first part of the fight, not realizing that I would HAVE to use the second party for the other half; I thought I would only switch to them if my main party got wiped out. They were also super underleveled 😅 So needless to say, when I got to the second phase of the fight, he nuked my party pretty quickly.
    Second try, I put my weaker party first and my stronger one second. The first phase isn't hard at all if you have a character with some powerful AOE attacks but it still takes awhile since you're required to take all the souls out before you can hit the eye, and the eye itself has a shit ton of health. But otherwise, not a very threatening phase at all, I didn't even get to really see what the souls could do before I destroyed them all, shackling the eye to make him go last every turn also makes it very easy to prepare for anything.
    I get to the second phase and see his 99 shields and I think to myself "Oh shit... this is going to be the fight of my life. Really glad I horded all these items throughout the game"...I was super disappointed when I destroyed his other parts and his shields dropped down to 9. I thought the main mechanic of this boss would be that he has low base HP but you would have to slowly wittle down his shields to do any substantial damage to him, and that destroying his extra parts would only remove his invulnerability. "OK" I thought to myself, maybe he has a lot of HP just like the eye or something. Nope. Only has about 100k HP. Killed him in 2 turns after breaking him. Didn't get to see any of his cool attacks or mechanics.
    Was kinda disappointed but still satisfied that I beat him. I usually don't fight super bosses in RPGs because their usually poorly designed and require you to either grind to super high levels or use a guide of some kind. Anyone else have an easy time with his phase 2?

    • @Paglia_Orba
      @Paglia_Orba Před rokem +1

      I never beat this shit in octopath 1 😅 so I don’t even want to try it here. I was about 58-59 if I remember so that may count, also the boss rush was really annoying, and I juste gave up after 3 or 4 try
      But I defeated Vide, kinda underleved again (58 except Oswald 67) and I killed so many mobs, did all side quests, after like 110h, I don’t actually know how so many people was 75-80 in like 75h, but okay.
      Had to use my 2 grail of life in the second phase lol, it’s pretty annoying because there is a moment in the fight when you have to break him absolutely, if not, you know it will wipe out your team, or almost, because he’s gonna attack you 3 times in a row, and you can revive them only after you break him
      Well in the end there was no kind of strategy anymore, only trying to get max BPs and making the most massive damages you can to finish it quickly
      So after so much suffering, galdera will always be unattainable for me
      sad but I’m fine with it

      @@Paglia_Orba Yeah having to repeat the boss rush over and over again every time you lost was pretty annoying, especially since their pretty weak, it was cool to fight them the first time but on subsequent tries it feels more like a time waster/punishment for losing.
      Level 58-59? Yeah I could see how it would be very hard to beat him at that level if you didn't go back to all the towns to grab the end-game 'Battle-Tested' weapons and best armor, and don't want to beat him by using a guide to cheese him or something. I definitely overgrinded around to levels 60-70 if I remember correctly, because I saw his 99 shields when I first got to phase 2 and thought it was going to be an extremely long fight that I wasn't prepared for.
      Is 'Vide' supposed to be the super boss of Octopath Traveler 2? I haven't played the full thing yet, only the demo, but I plan on getting it soon! Would you say 'Vide' is harder or easier than Galdera? It sounds like you used the same strategy for beating 'Vide' that I used for Galdera, which was just to spam BP items on the strongest party member and have them spam their strongest attacks and end the fight quickly, don't have to deal with the boss mechanics if you kill them before they get the chance 😂😂

      Indeed. 75 should suffice, though. Took me about 4 hours of grinding in the forest of purgation to get all 8 characters from around level 65 to 75. Galdera was still very, very challenging, but if one has enough items like revitalizing jam and such, it should work after a few tries.

      @@dhaumyagango1076 The eye was much harder for me, but I'd say that very much depends on the way you assemble your party. In my second group of four I had Olberic with Warmaster as his secondary job. His "Winnehild's Battle Cry" was absolutely effective against Galdera. The second phase took me maybe half the time the first phase took, if that.
