UPDATE FINALLY BEAT IT Had the most perfect RnG order. Didnt even trigger the passive damage Galdera gives with the heat in phase 1. Even had an extra 2 turns to do damage in phase 2.
Finally beat this guy a few days ago! My first run, I put my best party for the first part of the fight, not realizing that I would HAVE to use the second party for the other half; I thought I would only switch to them if my main party got wiped out. They were also super underleveled 😅 So needless to say, when I got to the second phase of the fight, he nuked my party pretty quickly. Second try, I put my weaker party first and my stronger one second. The first phase isn't hard at all if you have a character with some powerful AOE attacks but it still takes awhile since you're required to take all the souls out before you can hit the eye, and the eye itself has a shit ton of health. But otherwise, not a very threatening phase at all, I didn't even get to really see what the souls could do before I destroyed them all, shackling the eye to make him go last every turn also makes it very easy to prepare for anything. I get to the second phase and see his 99 shields and I think to myself "Oh shit... this is going to be the fight of my life. Really glad I horded all these items throughout the game"...I was super disappointed when I destroyed his other parts and his shields dropped down to 9. I thought the main mechanic of this boss would be that he has low base HP but you would have to slowly wittle down his shields to do any substantial damage to him, and that destroying his extra parts would only remove his invulnerability. "OK" I thought to myself, maybe he has a lot of HP just like the eye or something. Nope. Only has about 100k HP. Killed him in 2 turns after breaking him. Didn't get to see any of his cool attacks or mechanics. Was kinda disappointed but still satisfied that I beat him. I usually don't fight super bosses in RPGs because their usually poorly designed and require you to either grind to super high levels or use a guide of some kind. Anyone else have an easy time with his phase 2?
I never beat this shit in octopath 1 😅 so I don’t even want to try it here. I was about 58-59 if I remember so that may count, also the boss rush was really annoying, and I juste gave up after 3 or 4 try But I defeated Vide, kinda underleved again (58 except Oswald 67) and I killed so many mobs, did all side quests, after like 110h, I don’t actually know how so many people was 75-80 in like 75h, but okay. Had to use my 2 grail of life in the second phase lol, it’s pretty annoying because there is a moment in the fight when you have to break him absolutely, if not, you know it will wipe out your team, or almost, because he’s gonna attack you 3 times in a row, and you can revive them only after you break him Well in the end there was no kind of strategy anymore, only trying to get max BPs and making the most massive damages you can to finish it quickly So after so much suffering, galdera will always be unattainable for me sad but I’m fine with it
@@Paglia_Orba Yeah having to repeat the boss rush over and over again every time you lost was pretty annoying, especially since their pretty weak, it was cool to fight them the first time but on subsequent tries it feels more like a time waster/punishment for losing. Level 58-59? Yeah I could see how it would be very hard to beat him at that level if you didn't go back to all the towns to grab the end-game 'Battle-Tested' weapons and best armor, and don't want to beat him by using a guide to cheese him or something. I definitely overgrinded around to levels 60-70 if I remember correctly, because I saw his 99 shields when I first got to phase 2 and thought it was going to be an extremely long fight that I wasn't prepared for. Is 'Vide' supposed to be the super boss of Octopath Traveler 2? I haven't played the full thing yet, only the demo, but I plan on getting it soon! Would you say 'Vide' is harder or easier than Galdera? It sounds like you used the same strategy for beating 'Vide' that I used for Galdera, which was just to spam BP items on the strongest party member and have them spam their strongest attacks and end the fight quickly, don't have to deal with the boss mechanics if you kill them before they get the chance 😂😂
@@maxl0s671 fuck i spoiled you I think😅 thought you finished OT2 too. According to what I see here and there, Vide is considered more « simple » than Galdera. As Galdera was considered as a « final boss superboss » due to its difficulty, Vide is more considered as a typical final boss, pretty not simple but you can do it if u have a bit of strategy and equipment. Indeed. 75 should suffice, though. Took me about 4 hours of grinding in the forest of purgation to get all 8 characters from around level 65 to 75. Galdera was still very, very challenging, but if one has enough items like revitalizing jam and such, it should work after a few tries.
@@dhaumyagango1076 The eye was much harder for me, but I'd say that very much depends on the way you assemble your party. In my second group of four I had Olberic with Warmaster as his secondary job. His "Winnehild's Battle Cry" was absolutely effective against Galdera. The second phase took me maybe half the time the first phase took, if that.
@@scampijoe666 Second phase has lower health but hits harder and there is a lot of rng involved as well. The first time I reached second phase I got wiped out on like the 3rd turn by his elemental attacks. I tried again and then finally beat him by equipping saving grace.

And I got the point.
But it’s funny because everyone telling that vide is simple were like 70 in the battle, fine 😅
wow!!! amazing, epico
Can you do one with the final boss theme from Octopath Traveler 2 eventually?
fleetwood mac dreams
This is insane! yesterday I beat him!
Congrats! It feels really good and you get a reward on the title screen 🤴
@@smashbounduk3241 just figured it out! haha
@@smashbounduk3241 wait you do? I literally just saved the game and took it out after because I had previously spent about 20 hours just preparing to beat him and lost about 6 times
@@Kage57 I feel like you are not the only one, only reason I went to the title screen is to take a picture of the game title so I got lucky!
I'd say its worth turning it on to see your reward 😁
@@smashbounduk3241 yeah I just saw it this morning 👍👍

@@the_Male_Alicorn_of_Light I thought you were about to do the "Who? Asked?" thing so I decided to just reply with a meme at an attempt to be comical about it but it seems that you were legit wondering. So, I meant you.
Cuz you jokingly said you fainted because of the music XD
Aaaaa I DID IT LETS GOOOO
Fuck i need level 75, the game
Indeed. 75 should suffice, though. Took me about 4 hours of grinding in the forest of purgation to get all 8 characters from around level 65 to 75. Galdera was still very, very challenging, but if one has enough items like revitalizing jam and such, it should work after a few tries.
@@scampijoe666 Which phase did you find harder, the eye or Galdera himself ?
@@dhaumyagango1076 I guess there are many, many options for how to approach this fight - which makes it so remarkable and brilliant. For me that is the best final battle in any video game.
💯
Imagine that the "fans" of strategy pc games were the bad guys after all.
What language is this?
That is Latin

this is not all latin language.I try to translate to know the meaning but most of the words didn't have the meaning
This is Latin, it's just that the lyrics aren't totally accurate
this is the best part 4:00 .. although every second of it gives me chills
Isn't that a good thing?
Phase 2's theme is way better than 1, especially since the stupid tanky eyeball lasts so long.
someone copypaste the lyrics
I don't remember this boss
Unfortunately it is an optional boss and is hidden unnecessarily well..
I think this was the true final boss but they didn't have time and released it in a secondary quest. Is kinda sad because everything makes sense when you fight this boss, explains everything and (spoiler) almost all the 8 travelers have something in common that is mindblowing.
Its a superboss that also the final boss
