I received my signed copy and I will treasure your note. I expected just your sig and the personalized autograph made it so much more special. Thank you!!
Main Street , Turn the Page, Night Moves, etc. Soooooo many exceptional songs
The Famous final scene!
Old Time Rock and Roll, Like a Rock, too many to name.
I agree
You may as well list his whole catalog
You should review Frankie miller scotlands own bob seger but better
Bob Seger is one of the best story teller in Rock music. Everyone of his songs weave a a tale about live & relationships.
This song is fine but my favorite is Shame on the Moon. I listen to that one all the time!
Bob Seger is a national treasure.
Really paid his dues for so many long years, a singer of the people, and so humble. Sold 75 million records.
Bob can go from a slow smooth balad to nearly ripping his throat out on totally rocking song. The mans a legend with dozens of hits.
"Turn the Paige" Live
Is so good you will forget that it is live
Probably one of the best singers of all time. Bob Seger had it all.
More Bob Seger please!
Great choice for your introduction to Bob Seger. Not his biggest hit but contains great examples of wide range of talents.
Bob Seger has had a loooong career, much loved and one of the nicest guys in the business, by all accounts. Iconic voice and a multitude of hits.
Post Malone seems to be todays Seger. Talented and kind to the people.
I bought the tickets, my brother drove me to see him this tour. Thank you, Bob!
Segar went onto my favorite bands list in about '73 or '74 and hasn't been off of it for even a second. Every song of his that I ever heard has been a 'keeper.'
I'm listening to Beautiful Loser rt now
I remember as a little kid, hearing this song on a Hardcassel and McCormack tv show episode. All I remember about that show, cuz I was so young, is a dude driving a red Ferrari type car on a winding road with this awesome bob segar song playing over it….even as a young 5-6 year old boy at the time, with literally no life experience, hit me with such an emotional response, everytime I hear this song I think of that moment 40 years ago…crazy!!!!
Heard a gem of a story about Bob once, while travelling on a plane he started a conversation with a young 17 year old girl that hadn't been away from home much and was nervous and unsure if her mum was able to meet her at the airport on time. After landing Bob stayed with her until her mother turned up a few hours later. I think she may have been stuck in traffic. How cool is that, not thinking he was above helping someone when they needed it.
Always humble
Bob Seger is one of the best. The man moved through several styles of music and pretty much owned the radio air waves from the late '70s through the '80s, hit after hit after hit. There just is no mediocre Seger song. IMO he's one of the great American lyricists and a great singer. Try the whole Live Bullet album, one of the best live albums ever. That's a lot of superlatives but he deserves it all.
Bob Seger is one of the very best Rock and Roll Poets ever!!! His songs are poetry. And his voice is perfect for his music! ❤❤❤❤❤
The background voice you love is Laura Creamer. Been with Bob since the early days.
Thanks so the info! I'll check her out!
We absolutely love Bob here in Michigan and the Detroit area. Such a great performer and wonderful person. You nailed it that he is one of the greatest story tellers of all time. I saw a Bruce Springsteen concert back in 1981 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Bob came out to do the encore with Bruce. Amazing moment.
I saw Billy Joel at I believe the Palace and Seeger came out and did a song with him. It was amazing also.
My parents went on a date to see the Silver Bullet Band at a club back when they met... Moms from Michigan and dad was a traveling welder.
Bob Segar is the Springsteen of the Midwest. Those of us who grew up in the Great lakes areas identified with Seger songs of freedom and love on hot summer nights. I manged to see him once in 1988.
Bob Seger is up their with the great American songwriters. And live, he is great. You will enjoy this Beth.
One of the greatest story tellers of our time!
Great reaction! Strongly recommend OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL for more of a rock song, and TURN THE PAGE, for a great song about being on the road.
"Hollywood Nights" & "Night Moves" are Classic Seger worth a listen
When you hear of cruising music WITH meaning.... you have Bob Seger. Timeless... Like A Rock, it changes through the years as you grow older.
One of the all-time great storytellers - and the king of nostalgia. Other classics of his include Old Time Rock and Roll, Night Moves, We've Got Tonight, Like a Rock, and a really good cover of C'est la Vie (You Never Can Tell). Really glad you're getting to his stuff. :)
Lovely man. He came out of retirement to sing with Patty Loveless at the Country Music Hall of Fame recently. ❤
I don't know if there are any videos related to the tour that led to this work, but give the album "Live Bullet" a listen. It has one of my favorites, "Travelin' Man," which is often paired with the song "Beautiful Loser," which is wonderful by itself. Live Bullet helped bring Seger to a wider audience.
I’ve had an eight track of that a cassette of that an LP of that, and I’ve had to buy three more because I wore them out…✌🏼
I grew up in northwestern Ohio, an hour or so south of Detroit and was lucky enough to see Bob several times when he was coming up. First time was in 1966 at the local teen club in my hometown. It cost 50 cents to get in. It was obvious even then that Mr. Seger was going to be a star.
Oh Beth, I cannot believe you’ve never listen to Bob Seger or as fans call him just Seger
His array of songs are timeless. There are so many beautiful songs that he has wrote and sang the video you’re watching of him was in his early years
He’s an old man now, but still sounds terrific
These songs you need to listen to
Against the wind
Old Time rock ‘n’ roll
Beautiful Loser
Fire down below
These are just a few off the top of my head
His catalog is very deep, too. Nice reaction. Turn the Page from the Live Bullet album should be next IMO.
Yes
ON THE ROAD AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Bob is among the best of the 1970s-80s storytellers. One of the best live albums of the 1970s was his Live Bullet album. It's worth a listen to to hear his songwriting and performing talent showcased in great live performances.
Bring back some Memories!
It was a good time ! 😊
I'm 72 now and still love this music....
Bob is like a huge bowl of comforting beef stew. So warm, a little spicy with so many tasty textures. American to thee we core.
Im born and raised here in Detroit Michigan and Seger is the man here. His catalog are all hits and classics. Check out night moves and against the wind amongst others. Once you go down the Seger rabbit hole you will be hooked.
Michigan's finest 😎
It is the best when the artist obviously loves what they are doing!
He is a rock poet. All are about life. Turn the page, Night Moves, Shame on the Moon, and so many others are fantastic
When I was a young kid back in the late 70s early 80s, Bob Seger’s song, We’ve Got Tonight was on more jukeboxes in America than any other song great song, well worth checking out for the channel or just on your own
I love Bob. Living in NW Ohio he appeared around the area a lot before he became famous. He played at some high schools. I saw him many times and he so enjoys his audience he puts it all out there. He doesn't look down on any one. Thanks for doing this video Beth!
I was at this show! My favorite all time. Grew up 38 mi from him! Seen him live 7 times!
Bob Seger, what can you say, just amazing....love his piano playing as well. Just an insanely talented artist.
Our gen. Our music. Sooo good. Fifty years of great music out of one man. Three albums: '76 Night Moves, '78 A Stranger in Town, '80 Against the Wind. You're set for hours of beautiful music. We saw his final tour@2019..little weaker but still Seger. Pure rock and roll. Walked on clouds for days. ❤
Can guarantee Beth will love _Against the Wind_ and _Fire Lake._
He is one of my Favorite Story Teller Vocalists.
The sadness. Wistfulness and pain his voice an pull out of a song touches me.
"Roll Me Away" is one of those stories. It makes my heart burn for a road trip.
An amazing artist, saw him a few times. Last time was on his goodbye tour at Boston Garden. Took my 15 year old son, he still talks about how amazing the concert was, how great Bob Seger's voice still is.
Saw him at UNO Lakefront Arena (New Orleans) in the early 80s. I’ve been to some concerts-he was by far the best and most memorable of my life. He and the band just gave their all and came back for more, encore on top of encore. I don’t know how he did it all those years if most of his concerts were like this one. My late husband loved his song “Till It Shines” and so do I. It had a lot of meaning for the both of us.
And my husband could’ve been his twin except DH had sailor blue eyes instead of brown, one fine-looking man-husband and Mr Seger:)
I just enjoyed listening to Bob Seger
Music great group

Beth, I only discovered your channel a little while ago, but I really enjoy it a lot now. Your reactions are so heartfelt and joyous, and you often point out something new in songs I have known for a long time.
That female vocalist who rises above the others... Interesting you point that out. Whenever I heard this song as a kid in the late '70s, I always made a mental note of that voice. Having you mention it just made me smile that I also had that private observation so long ago.
I love his raw raspy voice.
Seger is a GREAT storyteller!
Great artist! If you want better examples of his "grit", check out Hollywood Nights or Night Moves. I think you'd love it!
Huge catalog... Old time rock and roll, like a rock, night moves, turn the page, hollywood nights, down on main street.
Beth you should and need to react to more vintage stuff the no 1 songs from Bob Seger i recommends is stuff such as Turn the page old time rock and roll fire down below however there are many classics out their anyway no hate just saying hope take it into consideration have a good one and happy trails 🥃
Your reactions to my time of classic music is beautiful!!
Yes sir
LOVED loved him.
“Great storyteller” - you got it. One of the best. And always terrific live performances.
Please try Turn the Page from Live Bullet!
Or for the season, his version of Little Drummer Boy is special.
BOB is the man. He just has it. Whatever it is.
Great performer . Loved his concert .
his voice is one thing but don't forget..... he's writing these beautiful songs
You just DOVE into a deep hole.
Bob has a summer house a few miles away from me, here in Northern Michigan.
As a fellow Detroiter, I'm a 3rd generation Seger fan. I've been listening to him for my entire life (almost)
Was front row centre in Montreal for this tour! It was 1978. Just like this.
1981 recorded in live album at
THE BOSTON GARDEN I was there two of the three shows . Over 14 shows in 30 years.
Thank you. Love the way you explain and describe
Loved Bob Seger ever since I saw him as the opening act for Bachman Turner Overdrive in Halifax NS, Canada in the early 70's. Great singer and better writer.
He has dozens of great songs. Ty for this.
You should do "Famous Final Scene"......I"m going to have that played at my funeral........
Easily my favourite Seger song.
Your spot on with that
My parents turned me on to Bob Seger, been a fan literally my whole life. Never heard a Seger song I didn't love.
This is a wormhole you should go into❤
Love this song AND you have to lot more to listen to!
You’re going to really love the hardcore rock songs
Some him live way back in the 90s and they were fantastic!!
I think Bob is the Poet Laureate of Michigan. Live Bullet, Katmandu is a good listen.
This type of music is so repeatedly perform by most singer and so sadness because every singer do this it's not unique but u bethy are so ❤
Can't go wrong with Bob!
Turn the Page is my favorite 😊
Roll Me Away and Against the Wind are also great vocals
If you're taking Seger suggestions, I recommend Hollywood Nights, from this same concert. I believe it was 1978 in San Diego. Also, the live version of the two-song medley, Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser. I'm pretty sure you will hear his full vocal ability. My personal favorite is Roll Me Away. Thanks. Bob Seger concerts were always one of the top selling shows.
If you want another Bob Seger song to analyze, try Night Moves.
I loved him!
Go down this rabbit hole. You won't be disappointed. Next song " night moves"
Bob Seger always reminds me of my childhood. I was about 6 years old, we were moving from the midwest back home, and on the drive back, my dad had Bob Seger's greatest hits playing in his new Jeep Grand Cherokee's cd player. I don't know where the time goes, but it's nice it lets us reminisce sometimes.
Please review "Turn the Page" also live. I think it's one of his finest works - it's about a singer being on the road.
Thanks for all the great reactions!
M-
One of the best!
It’s Bob Seger, Beth. I should know because I used to be from Detroit, Michigan… Bob’s hometown 😊
we love you Beth here in the US
Definitely!
You peeps! 🐥 🥰
MY USUAL IS ORIGINAL ALBUM CUT 1ST, BUT FOR TRUE VOICE ... I THINK LIVE IS LESS ... ALTERED! SEGER IS A CLASS ACT!
Like a Rock is fantastic
One of the all-time great writers and storytellers. All of his songs are great, but there are so many others that I would have recommended above this one. Main Street, Night Moves, Against the Wind... Probably most people know this song, but for those who don't, I highly suggest that they check out 2+2=? by Bob Seger System from his very early days.
Right? As far as vocals go, this is maybe his most boring. I'd like to see her react to his cover of "If I Were A Carpenter" from the Smokin' OPs album.
I absolutely love Bob Seger. So many hits/great songs. Technically he is a little bit before my time but he was my first concert. I saw he in 1996 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City Missouri. It was a fantastic show.
his smile is underrated
Still The Same and Feel Like A Number were on my first 45 of him.
More Segar PLEASE! Katmandu, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Hollywood Nights, Old Time Rock n Roll
Seger had 3 back up female vocalists 1 for 35 years!
My high school years.
Against the Wind.
Bob Seger is fantastic,,,,top 10. Rabbit hole is very deep. 💥💥💥👍😎
Although I’ve been listening to him since long before the Silver Bullet Band (the Bob Seger System) those three consecutive albums in the 70’s, Night Moves, Live Bullet and Stranger In Town are masterpieces. You can’t go wrong with any of those songs. I’d recommend UMC and Katmandu.
Look at that flow
Go down the rabbit hole you will be glad you did. Turn The Page is one of the greatest live songs of all time.
