Seger is, first of all, a rock and roller from the D!!! DETROIT!!
This WAS played on FM radio back in the seventies! We LOVED it, too!
TNT may need to get a room after this. 😂😂😂
🤣🤪
😂😂
They’re sweet and silly! Enjoyed their carrying on the way they did.😂👌💯
"Her Strut" should be next. Not his best tune (still great), but in a similar vein as this one.
And yes, they played "Come to Poppa" on the radio. Radio was even more risque back then than now.
This one is my favorite
"They do respect her butt!" - the most memorable lyric from 'Her Strut'.
And Fire Down Below
Her Strut cuz you gotta respect her butt!!!!🤣
That’s what I came to the comments to say as well.. totally nasty sexy groove, and a good book-end I always threw into a mix with “Her Strut” is “Those Shoes” by the Eagles.
"Watch her Strut" needs to be next
Think it's just 'Her Strut '
Bob Seger is my all time favorites! My niece went to school with his son. I've had the pleasure of meeting him and attending many concerts. He is amazing! Still to this day he still sounds the same live!
I’ve seen him several times also. He did a lot of shows in his home state back in the day!!! Always a great show!!!!
Niw I am just jealous, but I am a distant cousin to Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe,Stevie Nicks and Elvis.Never met any single one of them and they are all gone except for one
Wow, I lived two blocks away from Bob and can't tell you how he got all of us dancing on weekends when the group was there playing in the garage
The reason it sounds so funky is because it is a cover version (genders reversed) of the soul song "Come To Mama" first recorded by Ann Peebles in 1975
I like Koko Taylors cover too!
Having seen Bob Seger in concert back in the day. We women were good with it. He is like fine wine. Better with age. Sounds good and looked better.
in Detroit this song was always played on the radio.....I live across the border in Windsor Canada...I grew up on all this music......this is blue collar music....Detroit motor city car making music !!!
Horizontal Bop. That song ranks up there with this one for being suggestive. Glad I got to grow up listening to Bob Seger on the radio.
Recorded by The Swampers with Bob in Muscle Shoals...you need to watch this documentary...you will learn so much!! Listen to Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett, also recorded in Muscle Shoals.
I was thinking it sounded like the back ground music in an old shaft show from the 70’s
Night Moves is a great song. These songs came out in the 70’s. Bob Seger has a multitude of great songs. One you might recognize is Old Time Rock & Roll. If you’ve ever seen the movie Risky Business then you will know it.
Yes!! And Kathmandu. 👍
Night Moves is one of the songs that immediately transports me back to high school. Magical
I wanna see this girl dance to Joe Cockers, "You can leave your hat on."
Even this song isn't anywhere near as bangin' as his real bangers. Check out the Live Bullet album. Solid.
Yes it is to me this is my favorite by him
Absolutely the best live album ever!
True that best live album ever
Bo Diddley!
Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou, Rock n Roll Never Forgets, Katmandu, Feel Like a Number, Roll Me Away, and many more…..and then try some mid 70’s J. Geils Band like Homework, First I Look at the Purse or Give it to Me…..
My favorite Bob Seger song.
It's my new favorite now.
This song came out in 1976!!!! It’s hot!!!! Bob Seger is hot 🥵!!! He has many more great songs you should check out!!! Her Sturt, Kathmandu, Hollywood Nights, Rambling Gambling Man, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, The Fire Down Below, Night Moves, Main Street, Beautiful Loser, Still The Same, we’ve Got ToniteOld Time Rock and Roll 🎸!!!!!!!
You'll Accomp'ny Me is my favorite by them! But like many of theirs
Yes, it means exactly what you think it means. Yes, they played it on the radio. 😂 It's one of my favorite Seger songs and hardly anyone reacts to it...they're missing out!
Memories of High School, I sure loved the 70’s. Every Group can through So. Cal. 🎸🎶😎
Bob Seger did so much! I found his music always brings up love, sex, rock n roll and greeting life as humans do as they fully hit maturity... You know, between 19-21 and making your way to 40. You'll see what I mean when you hear 'Night Moves' or 'Main Street' or 'Fire Down Below'. :) BTW, I still feel his music at 62! :)LOL(:
This song is from the 70's and yes, it's a groovin,' funky little tune . I loved your reactions!
This came out in 1976. This was in the hay day of Funk and all the great music the was coming out from that great decade for music, the fabulous 70's
I KNEW you would love this one. Its smooth and funky and I could listen to it all day long.
Seger is very diverse. A lot of folks request his slower songs, but he’s so much more. I’ve seen him twice, and he and his Silver Bullet Band are great live. Yes, this was played on the radio. His version actually came out in the 70s.
I was in junior high when this song came out.
You couldn't turn on your radio and not hear it.✌️🎶🎸
I can give you a little background on this particular song. This song was actually an R&B song by the phenomenal Ann Peebles. When it was originally done by Ann Peebles, it was titled Come To Mama. Bob Seger made his own version of the song. It was an early FM radio cut. He changed the title and words to "Come to Poppa." I guess he didn't want to be called Mama. Now I'm a big Bob Seger fan. If you haven't already listened/reacted to these songs, I would highly recommend them.
Night Moves
Shakedown
Gracile
Heavy Music
Beautiful Loser
Another man spittin that game way back was JAMES TAYLOR with "Handy Man"... And even further back was DION "Wanderer".
1975. I went to 3 concerts in high school. He was my band. I wish I had all my concerts shirts & they still fit. I graduated 1977
("Woot-Woot!" )
Hilarious reaction. 🤣
Love ❤️ me some
"Mr. Bob Seger! "
Thanks to my parents for always having their music playing throughout our home when we were children.🎶
I humbly miss and love them both!
This made the wife's and my night! Having seen him live 5 or 6 times over the past 40+ years we've continued to be huge fans. I totally agree that this is a real funky, filthy, dirty yet beautifully seductive song.. Hands down the best reaction I've seen to any song.
You can never go wrong with Bob Seger...Ever..!
Night moves the title track is an absolute national treasure of a track has is main street off the same album
Down on Main Street paints such a vivid picture of being down on main Street late at night.
Even though the song was released in 1976, the first time I remember ever heraring it was on Miami Vice in, "Rights of Passage" in 1985. I had to keep playing that scene over and over. Miami Vice ruled by implimenting popular songs into the series that usually matched with what the episode or scene was about.
Bob is the man all his songs got plenty of radio play.
Bob is a big name for BIkers. He put on a big show in Fort Worth a long way back. He rocks. And he is something else!
Don't mess up her groove! LOL. You got to react to his song called "Her Strut"
this is my all time favorite Seger song - the album came out in the 70's.
The song was written by Willie Mitchell who was a singer/songwriter, musician and producer for artists like Al Green.
This guy is crazy. "You messin' up my groove" 👍
I thought I heard her say softly, "Come to mama!"
fire down below and horizontal bop are along these lines as well..he is %100 my number 1 classic rock guy bar none. love me some bob now lol
Bob Seger's one of the best rock and roll magicians of all time but obviously he mixes genres rock and roll Blues
Bob Seger's in my top three rock and roll icons and one of the best songwriters of all time to
Thanks for a fun reaction. You both would probably also enjoy his "Fire Down Below" too.
My absolutely favorite Seger song!!!
Seger is a wonderful deep rabbit hole to go down. Great catalog
Once in a blue moon, I would hear this on the radio but usually at night
One of my favorite Seger songs so funky
one of his funkier tuuuuuunes.....so good
He does a cover of Tina Turner's "Nutbush City" from his Live Bullet album that I really like. A great song by Bob Seger is "Beautiful Loser".... you need to check it out. You won't be disappointed,I promise! I really think you'll love "Nutbush City" from the live album. It is one hell of a show opener!
I saw him right before Covid. He's 75 yrs old and he still rocks this song
Bob is a legend.
This was on the radio in the 70s
I used to live in Michigan back in the early '70s I went to see him in 1973 in Detroit which is where he's from so it was packed
T: "It sounded like some porno music."
Funny you should say that. On one of the handful of occasions in my life when I found myself in a "gentlemen's entertainment lounge," One of the dancers came on the stage to this song and I have associated it with that activity ever since.
Speaking of Night Moves.... great song, you should react to it. Other great choices:
- Ramblin' Gamblin' Man .. one of his oldest hits, dating back to 1969
- Watch Her Strut (different groove, but risque in a similar vein to this song)
- We've got tonight (was covered as a duet by Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton, but I love Seger's original version. Very soulful and lonely sounding... with all due respect to the considerable talents of Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton, their version sounds too happy for my tastes ).
- Main Street
-Against the Wind
- The Fire Inside
- Old Time Rock and Roll
There are others, but this is a great bunch of songs to start with, and all were radio hits.
It was played on the radio every darn hour. You literally couldn't get in the car without it being played
Bob had so many hits. I remember an interview of him and they asked him about MTV because he never had alot of music videoes and Bob said so humbly, "We didn't need them" our music spoke for itself and the fans responded.
This song was recorded down in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Lots of solo artists and groups recorded songs there. Barry Beckett and friends can jam.
70’s!!!! BABY!🥳🥳🥳 y’all have to do Mother’s Finest ( Baby Love!)
This is one of my favorites! Right along side of Her Strut!
Yeah, we get it ,down and dirty...love it!
Everybody knows that Bob is the best expert for the Beatles
This song came out in the 70s, yes it was played on the radio!
You gotta do Night Moves! But, he's had so many great songs, you can't go wrong with any of his songs.
He's right , this is one of those come hither songs . Mama there goes that man😁
Dude, you cracked me up!!! I was LMAO!!!
Bob didn't make a bad song.............you guys are awesome..............THANKS
Awesome
He hears Bob's lyrics
And he respects her
Lots of fun you two. Seger is badass. From the same album try Night Moves or Rock and Roll Never Forgets. 🔥
That song right there had a lot of babies made to it
"Main Street" on that album is another great ballad. I never even knew who Bob Segar was, even though he'd been around since the late 60's ... But, in 1976 a friend and I went to see a KISS concert here in Oakland, and the opening band on the ticket said "Uriah Heep" I knew who they were, but didn't really care anything about them. Then before the show started an announcement was made that Uriah Heep won't be performing due to an illness or something... didn't matter to us. Then in their replacement they brought on Bob Segar and the band, and they tore the house down, they were a tough act to follow, but KISS did do the bast show I'd ever seen them do, and could never top themselves that night. Next day, I went to the record store and bought the double "Live Bullet" album and damn if it didn't sound exactly like the sat I'd just heard them play the night before!.
Grew up listening to Bob. Love him. Darlin you gotta know he's gonna be using that line on you later 😂 n yes it was on the radio
Never heard it on the radio, but had the single at one time.
This is when Bob was working with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section
Sunspot Baby is another great one!
Yes!!. This song is about.. EXACTLY.. what is sounds like. Lol.
Grew up with Seger's music.
I remember when this was new!! It wasn't risqué- it was considered "innuendo" 😆 Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵
Guys give Her Strut a listen. Thats a hot song
Thank you..thank you..thank you for reacting to this!!!!!.
I am so so happy.
My favorite Bob Seger song!!. 😍
Risqué? You think? Gotta do "Her Strut" now. Risqué- no question mark, but ! BOTH OF YOU, Peace and greetings from Canada... be safe.
(Sun spot baby ) is another good one from Bob. ✌️🍺🔥❤️
Yep
A staple for strippers back in the day. When my band back then played this in biker bars, all the retired dancers hit the floor. Written for the pole.
Your reaction is the freaking best!.
YES, HILARIOUS!!! Y'all are just too cute and too funny!
You guys need to check out Bob Seger doing 'C'est La Vie' and 'Main Street'.
*Ramblin' Gamblin' Man is his first hit from 1969....and he has it on his 'Live' Bullet album. You must try that one. Then add "Her Strut" to your list.*
This album came out in '76
One of the best concerts I have ever seen! Never left the seat , endless 420
YUP!!! Bob has it down. You play this anywhere, anytime, people will get down. ONE HUNNIT%
Great Seger song, great reaction… 1st I’ve seen anyone react to it. I’m 60 and this got plenty of air play 🔥
Picture 10,000 people in the Boston gardens in the late 70's having the same reaction you guys did..was lucky enough to see him many times..he's simply put a rock legend
Bob is a legend!
I subbed after this reaction was made....but kept hearing about it here and there, so had to check it out....GLAD I DID...was a lot of fun! Great reaction!
Dude.....this is DETROIT MUSIC......only in DETROIT do you have EMINEM...TED NUGENT....MOTOWN....IGGY AND THE STOOGES......ALICE COOPER.....GRAND FUNK......and the KIng....BOB SEGER.......................you notice that there is not 1 thumbs down and 358 thumbs up at this time !!!!!
You can keep poopy pants nugent
Another Bob Seger song that you should definitely check out is "Old-Time Rock'n'Roll"
when. bob first started gettin real popular. his album .the bob seeger system was really awsome.hard to find.
Bob’s early music I love has a different sound.
Great reaction. Haven't heard this one in decades, but love it. The album title song "Night Moves" is perfect, but a ballad. For rockers, listen to the live album "Live Bullet" (where Turn the Page probably came from). Nutbush City, Katmandu, Get Out of Denver, bunch of good rockers on that one.
Seen Bob Seger live back in 2007 was an amazing show,
This song was recorded at Muscle Shoals Studio thus the heavy bass beat. Check it out. And I dont believe this was played on radio back then.
Such an amazing rabbit hole. Please keep going .
Detroit radio in the 70's was the best !! The music was the best and the DJ's were outrageous. The best ones were the DJ's on the supposed "black" stations.
