I don't get the second line. Destroying a planet wouldn't delete other planets memory of that planet. So Nail not knowing about planet Vegeta is irrelevant to Frieza destroying it. I guess the notion is supposed to be that it will eventually fade from history and be forgotten entirely, but I just don't find it to be a scary line but just Frieza being a dick.
@@kyuubinaruto17history is written by the winners as they say. And people like Freeza take pleasure in erasing others’ history seeing themselves as said winner while doing it. In other words: he’s an evil egomaniacal narcissist bastard. Gotta love that he can be funny, abhorrent, and memorable leading to a satisfying pay off where he gets his comeuppance.
I really super love the slight differences when Lani says lines with his character but you can tell that the voices are slightly different due to it being older :P Also, and obviously this is just subjective opinion, I think 16's line "These parameters are acceptable" goes just as hard as "Give me some ideas" and "you couldn't fathom". By itself it's meaningless but in context? Holy hell.
That line from Martin was the thing that skyrockted DBZA past the point of a simple parody. Everything else laid the groundwork, a sturdy as fuck foundation, but Martin there just grabbed you by the balls and told you in no uncertain terms, this guy is actually fucking scary, and you're in for more than you bargained for.
@@lolusuck386 It may have actually been Shadowrun where I used the line, either that or Starfinder. I lose track of games and what I say during them sometimes lol
“Next time, why don’t you remember your place like the rest of them? *And wait for Goku.* “ is up there with the coldest villain lines that you two mentioned. This just gets better and better.
This is one of my favorite episodes in this series, probably Top 3. I've laughed way too hard on this one. Jokes like "I have to pee!" and "Ow my ears" still gets me to this day
"Please, by all means, GIVE ME SOME IDEAS." Definitely one of the best lines in DBZA. Honestly, should have been in the original, soooo chilling and threatening.
Fuckin seriously. The early part of season 1 was pretty much all memes but starting at the end of season 1 and especially after Freeza's introduction in season 2 it stopped being full of memes and ACTUALLY became good and MY GOD Freeza's line at the end there isn't even funny it's genuinely so fuckin good. Fuckin great writing, fuckin orgasmically terrifying delivery.
I love the scene where Vegata sloooow realizes he's losing his wishes. It's like a part of him knows but his brain needs extra time to process all the anger.
On the topic of delivering lines, one of my all time favorites is when we are introduced to imperfect cell and he creepily says “Hello…Friend” gives me chills every time
Making Guru’s death intentional just to deny them their wish actually explains why he gets revived by the dragon balls, since suicide wouldn’t be a natural cause of death
If I remember correctly Kaiser mentioned that Krillin saying "Wishes" instead of just wish could just be him referring to him talking about using Shenron too. That was from the Marathon Commentary from a few years back.
The part I love the most about the freeza arm rip joke is it mirrors Goku punching jeice in the nose repeatedly, kind of like a minor setup for the two to be rivals.
Honestly, "You can't fathom the amount of dead men behind me" is a fine line and all, but I was always more impressed with when Piccolo asked Imperfect Cell "... HOW? How many people?" and Cell just has a brief pause before flatly answering "... Enough." It's basically a more concise successor to Phantom Blood Dio's line about bread.
I don't care if it was a translation error or not, I always preferred the title Porunga the Dreamer over the Dragon of Dreams. It just lent to the mysterious air of this impossibly jacked dragon.
I wonder if Vegeta ever considered the possibility that his immortality could backfire. "I'm now immortal, Freeza, what do you think of that?" (Simmering with barely contained rage) "Well, that's unfortunate. Say, did your immortality increase your power level?" "Uhhh.." "And did your immortality give you the ability to heal injuries, quickly or otherwise?" "Uhhhhhhh..." "And does your immortality prevent you from feeling AGONIZING PAIN?" "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." "Well, let's find out shall we?"
I usualy think those "reacting to episode of X" videos are the lowest form of entertainment but if creators do it for their own shows it's really entertaining to watch. Love this series.
Around 6:25 Lani mentions adding the episode number into the show. I can confirm they did this in episodes 25 and 26, I couldn't find any afterwards but it's just cool they tried to do that.
DBZA Frieza (Yes, I choose to spell his name that way) has some of my favorite lines in _all_ of fiction, and this episode has some of the best examples of it. "Give me some ideas" is literally and figuratively chilling.
The comment from a few videos ago, regarding Gohan: I genuinely believe it all pays off. The entire "Father Issues" being turned up to 11, as it were, really ended up being a beautiful rendition of his arc, from the Saiyan Saga to Cell.
Watching this series is a constant reminder that we cannot grow as creatives if we don't have our Season 1. So much was learned and actively improved upon with the steady release of all these projects. It is a reminder to finish so that I can become better too
16:33 "It's kinda hard to make a 3d character *when your voice is like this all the time* " I gotta respect The Tick reboot from 2016 for actually succeeding pretty well at doing exactly that.
9:30 I believe Nail already told them that the Namekian Dragon Balls give you three wishes, when the Ginyu Force was about to arrive. But I guess he did not tell them in the Abridged version.
To this day, whenever I need to suddenly pee I shout "I HAVE TO PEE" in Vegeta's voice Thanks Lani you have singlehandedly altered my vocabulary for all time
And here’s the beginning of an underrated and frankly never mentioned running gag of “heehee oh it hurts to laugh, heehee ow, heehee ow, heehee ow”. I think it’s said once or twice before, but here’s where it really takes off. Not as much as ones like “I need an adult”, “crab baskets”, “chargin’ my attack”, or “Kai-O What”, but it’s still funny, and I personally love it.
I always thought it would be really funny if Dende tried taking advantage of the fact that Vegeta doesn’t know Namekian to ask Porunga to turn Vegeta into a duck when Vegeta thinks he’s about to become immortal.
4:28 On the point about Namek feeling like forever. It really did take forever if you watched Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the day. I don't know what the issue was with the show back then, but I remember they didn't have the episodes past certain parts. There was a very long hiatus after the Ginyu Force part where it was just reruns and restarts, and then they did it again, thought it didn't last quite as long, towards the end of the Frieza fight. And I know this because there were ads for it and I remember being so damned pumped to finally see the end of the Frieza fight, because it took so damn long to get there.
I remember hearing the 'Boom chika ah" reference for the first time when the android 13 parody came out and I think I quite literally jumped with joy at that reference. Man this commentary series is great!
Nail’s fight against against Freeza has to be one of my favorite jokes in the entire series. Timing and execution are just perfect, hats off to that gag
9:25 technically no in the original krillin did know. He, Gohan, and Vegeta were told this at Guru's when the Ginyu force arrived, the just forgot and were retold when they summoned parunga. Accompanied by Dende exclaiming "I THOUGHT YOU KNEW!" It was the reason they agreed to help vegeta in the first place. Vegeta agreed to let them have the other 2. I know this because i just spent all of yesterday reading the entirety of the frieza saga. Though yes in abridged he did not know.
i love it's Remix's debut episode, and you guys sneak in a meta joke of "welcome back, Kami". also, Kami comes back just as Guru dies. why is that so perfect? also also: there's a video of a slug cutting most of it's body off, and regrowing from just it's head. as well as a Japanese myth of a slug (or snail) becoming a dragon. kinda like the myth of the Karp becoming a dragon. although i don't know how the slug becomes a dragon. maybe a Kami grants it's wish? (kinda spoilers for the "are Namekians demons or slugs?" debate to come). decided to mention this here because the scene of Nail getting his arms ripped off and regrowing them reminded me of that video. hmm. i wonder if Nail had the chance to absorb Piccolo, and then Kami, would he've become Super Nail? S. Nail? he would've become Snail. SNAIL GUN!!
Imagine having such an explosively successful project, then go so hard you burnt yourself out to the point where that project has become legacy content that you could in turn make content around. Not to mention the fact that the show actually holds up in a lot of great ways completely separate from their other projects or even the source material. Thank you guys so much for making my teenage years not entirely miserable and continuing to love your work. Much love 👏👏
“Hey! Sup guys!” “So what are you doing?!” “What am i doing?” “Thwarting my plans?!” “Thwarting your plans?” “Are you?!” “… yes” “… I’m gonna f*cking kill you!”
I just love the “We’re still on Namek” because it works both as a joke to the audience for how long Namek is in the show but also as an inside joke for how it took them over a year to make it XD
@12:45 I always thought Piccolo demanding to be taken to Namek was a way of trying to protect Gohan? Since at that point Goku is unconscious, Vegeta is still a wild card, and Krillin isn't powerful enough to stand in Vegeta's way. Like Gohan literally got his neck snapped with just those two protecting him, sooo... maybe Piccolo panicked at the thought of Gohan dying, and wanted to make sure he survived no matter what. Idk, could just be rose-tinted thinking, but that's my headcanon.
See, I *NEVER* understood the reference in Android 13 until now. I just went and saw the video *Piccolo Lays a Beating - (Dragon Dub Returns).* Thanks for that, Lani. 😂

@@kyuubinaruto17
Basically, given time, the planet and all of it's legacy will be forgotten
@@kyuubinaruto17history is written by the winners as they say. And people like Freeza take pleasure in erasing others’ history seeing themselves as said winner while doing it. In other words: he’s an evil egomaniacal narcissist bastard. Gotta love that he can be funny, abhorrent, and memorable leading to a satisfying pay off where he gets his comeuppance.
The hilarious inverse of that line is “well between you and the Namekian, I fear I’ve lost my touch at genocide.”
"You can't fathom the amount of dead men behind me." Is my favorite line spoken this entire series.
I really super love the slight differences when Lani says lines with his character but you can tell that the voices are slightly different due to it being older :P
Also, and obviously this is just subjective opinion, I think 16's line "These parameters are acceptable" goes just as hard as "Give me some ideas" and "you couldn't fathom". By itself it's meaningless but in context? Holy hell.
Gero was planning to wipe out the bloodline, clearly.
I always enjoyed 16's line "Would you care to repeat that, you son of a bitch?!"
How are you gonna bring up lines that go hard AND 16 and not mention "you were a coward, to your last wimper". That whole monologue gave me CHILLS.
I always liked "Meat Shields within bullet blocking distance." I've used that during games of D&D lol
"But I didn't think the DM was using firearms."
"Shut up I'm sleepy."
Works even better in Shadowrun lol
@@lolusuck386 It may have actually been Shadowrun where I used the line, either that or Starfinder. I lose track of games and what I say during them sometimes lol
“Next time, why don’t you remember your place like the rest of them? *And wait for Goku.* “ is up there with the coldest villain lines that you two mentioned.
This just gets better and better.
"STOP RIGHT THERE NAMEKIAN SCUM!" I think that was one of the longest laughing/coughing/dying fits I've ever had in my life.
Kamis speech about being in a different type of prison really is a chilling and amazing speech. Voice acted so perfectly and gave me goosebumps
On the topic of delivering lines, one of my all time favorites is when we are introduced to imperfect cell and he creepily says “Hello…Friend” gives me chills every time
taka's cell singing mister sandman just before that tho
@@kR-qj7rw just that whole scene was perfection
Fun Fact: The trope "Arc Fatigue" used to be known as "Are They Still On Namek?" before it was renamed to be more general.
The hardest line for me is from pfirst form cell when picolo asked how many people and he just says is "Enough".
Also android 16 saying "these parameters, are acceptable"
@@Sarge23 there are endless iconic lines, but i agree, that is also a line that gives me chills.
In Kai ep2 When vegeta says "Wait am I immortal?" and Freeza says "I don't know *lets see* " is my favourite
The longest disclaimer is either this one with Guru or the one with Bulma and Baby Trunks in season 3
That S3 one is so precious. Easily one of my favorites.
They don't mention him a lot, but Ben deserves the credit for his performance as Nail here..
7:42 I still love that Frieza genuinely wanted to laugh along with Nail
I wonder if Vegeta ever considered the possibility that his immortality could backfire.
"I'm now immortal, Freeza, what do you think of that?"
(Simmering with barely contained rage) "Well, that's unfortunate. Say, did your immortality increase your power level?"
"Uhhh.."
"And did your immortality give you the ability to heal injuries, quickly or otherwise?"
"Uhhhhhhh..."
"And does your immortality prevent you from feeling AGONIZING PAIN?"
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh..."
"Well, let's find out shall we?"
It does the second, at least DBS wise
"Congratulations, you were promoted to infinitely durable punching bag."
I usualy think those "reacting to episode of X" videos are the lowest form of entertainment but if creators do it for their own shows it's really entertaining to watch. Love this series.
Well funny enough, the creators disagree with you and enjoy watching reactions to their own series.
I agree. I never watch other peoples reaction to videos. But this creator's comentaries on the other hand are awesome!
@@zeallust8542 And that is totally fine. Tastes are different and I happen to dislike that kind of content.
@@Timpossible24 theres a difference between disliking a type of content and calling it "The lowest form of entertainment"
@@zeallust8542 "I think X are the lowest form..." Note the "I think".
I will say one of my all time favorite lines, "I like my meat shields to be within bullet blocking distance" such a great line for anyone.
I love listening to Kaiser talk about the technical and little things about editing the episodes.
Around 6:25 Lani mentions adding the episode number into the show. I can confirm they did this in episodes 25 and 26, I couldn't find any afterwards but it's just cool they tried to do that.
I will admit, seeing them just enjoying their own work is a treat!
DBZA Frieza (Yes, I choose to spell his name that way) has some of my favorite lines in _all_ of fiction, and this episode has some of the best examples of it.
"Give me some ideas" is literally and figuratively chilling.
Freeza*
The comment from a few videos ago, regarding Gohan: I genuinely believe it all pays off. The entire "Father Issues" being turned up to 11, as it were, really ended up being a beautiful rendition of his arc, from the Saiyan Saga to Cell.
I absolutely ADORE Nick's "A Hard Day's Fight" shirt, I NEED IT
6:19 ... That laugh shows the satisfaction he still gets to this day and I love it 👍🏻😂
Keep doing the thing guys 🙂🙂🙂
Kaiser laughing at his pile of arms and Lanni repeating his favorite Popo lines just gives me warm fuzzies
Watching this series is a constant reminder that we cannot grow as creatives if we don't have our Season 1.
So much was learned and actively improved upon with the steady release of all these projects. It is a reminder to finish so that I can become better too
16:33 "It's kinda hard to make a 3d character *when your voice is like this all the time* "
I gotta respect The Tick reboot from 2016 for actually succeeding pretty well at doing exactly that.
9:30 I believe Nail already told them that the Namekian Dragon Balls give you three wishes, when the Ginyu Force was about to arrive. But I guess he did not tell them in the Abridged version.
‘Oh my’ has honestly made it into my regularly speech daily and I want to thank you guys for that.
To this day, whenever I need to suddenly pee I shout "I HAVE TO PEE" in Vegeta's voice
Thanks Lani you have singlehandedly altered my vocabulary for all time
And here’s the beginning of an underrated and frankly never mentioned running gag of “heehee oh it hurts to laugh, heehee ow, heehee ow, heehee ow”. I think it’s said once or twice before, but here’s where it really takes off. Not as much as ones like “I need an adult”, “crab baskets”, “chargin’ my attack”, or “Kai-O What”, but it’s still funny, and I personally love it.
I am so happy the two of them are so happy doing this. It’s really fun to see, and I’m glad they’re happy doing this.
"Pray to your God. But spoilers, I won't be listening."
When Taka dropped that line as Cell, he entered voice acting Valhalla.
I always thought it would be really funny if Dende tried taking advantage of the fact that Vegeta doesn’t know Namekian to ask Porunga to turn Vegeta into a duck when Vegeta thinks he’s about to become immortal.
It's kinda funny hearing Remix's Kami in abridged vs. Kami in his WTS dubs.
4:28
On the point about Namek feeling like forever.
8:03 holy crap, I had to watch that 10 times before I noticed. For some reason the background looked so different when it changed Nails position
Scott and Nick are so cute when they're enjoying their own jokes and being proud of the awesome thing they helped create 😊
They could've written in that being revived cured Kami's throat cancer (or some other ailment) and that's why Kami sounds different.
I deeply want to thank you for the Captions Canada in the series as well, hilarious commentary!
Ah yes, the one where they thwart Vegeta’s plans
“Hey! Sup guys!”
“So what are you doing?!”

“i have to pee” is so underrated
"Give me some ideas," Is my favourite line of ANY version of Frieza, official or otherwise.
I just love the “We’re still on Namek” because it works both as a joke to the audience for how long Namek is in the show but also as an inside joke for how it took them over a year to make it XD
The wishing Piccolo to Namek scene will forever be one of my favorites.
Ben's delivery as Nail is so good, just so perfectly sarcastic and this is where it really shows
See, I *NEVER* understood the reference in Android 13 until now.
I just went and saw the video *Piccolo Lays a Beating - (Dragon Dub Returns).*
Thanks for that, Lani. 😂
You can tell they're recording these in batches and that this was the start of a new session.
Not only are their clothes different, but Kaiser's trail mix is gone now.
Man loves his nuts. LOL
George takei: "Ohhh myyyy"
I swear Lani gets swoler every episode
Maybe his t-shirts are getting tighter.
The whole "hehe ow" bit with Goku in the healing pod was my ringtone for the longest time and it still makes me giggle like an idiot.
the best villain line ever was cell after announcing the cell games “pray to your god, but spoilers, i won’t be listening”🔥🔥🔥
