These guys were one of the few rare performers where their live versions actually shit on their recorded output. Not too many artists who can achieve that
Started listening to this groove and both live and studio versions sound great! Love how he plays with his hair on the album cover! Makes me imagine the photographer tried to keep Adam still from being so antsy! ;)
Holy shit^^ a few minutes ago I saw the trailer and my first thought was, to search for this song and to copy it under the postin on fb :-D I was a very very big fan of Adam & the Ants and Mr. Ant himself.
Yup, once I heard the guitar riff I knew I heard the song before, I was guessing Love And Rockets the game or Adam and the Ants, Killer in the home, I was close.. I had to pull out the Kings of the Wild Frontier to get it right.
amazing!!!! i cant believe how good they are live..adams voice sounds even better than the studio stuff, its taken till im 33 years old to realise this. first album i ever bought at the age of 6 was kings. under rated band, but for me one of the best!!
A new collection of creations from Adam would be something to anticipate! Hey, is it me, or is the UK simply awesome? Adam and the Ants, The Damned, WIRE, new stuff from people like the Horrors... Jeesh! Energy meets style and majesty. US can't compare.
I'm hitting 40 and i would love to see the younger generations enjoying this great music that we listened to, er, about 25 years ago..........where has the time gone?
The best song ever... I love Adam And The Ants... and this is their best song... love it and Im listening to it really often from my original CD, which is the most precious to me from all of my music collection... I wish I could hear it live!!!
Awesome! Love this song and the whole Kings album. In fact, I like everything I've heard by them or Adam solo so far. I'm glad I found out about them because they're very original. Wish I'd lived in the '80s and actually got to live at the time of such great music and performers. Still great to have the music and such cool vids to watch! Love Adam & the Ants!
So Clever, Been a fan since 1981, This proves they could do it live. Chris Hughes and Terry Lee are faultless, Amazing. Look up a docu called The Madness Of Prince Charming. Brilliant.
Nicholas Ball They guess they never considered it. The person who thought of adding this song to the trailer may not have been working on the first film as well.
I was a teenager in the '80's and I agree with you,I love anything by him-ants or solo. and kings has and will always be my fave album.(then prince charming!) only wish I would have had the pleasure to see him live! sigh!
This was taken from the Old Grey Whistle Test, a music show in the UK back in the 80's. It always puzzled me that the Ants never released this as a single!
OMFG this is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! I am 15 atm and i am in love with Adam and the Ants!!!! I always thought i was born in the wrong decade! If only i was born 20 years earlier i would have grown up when these guys where in biz and i might have been able to go seen one of their concerts! Its a big shame that they split but i see Adam seems to be doing fine on his own atm haha!
Hell yeah!! I remember watching this with my parents going what the heck is this?? Killer In the Home followed and it was brilliant. Great post thanks for the memories!!
marco has to be one of the most underrated guitarists ever
clean twang or mucky distortion, always playing something interesting
There's so many great ant songs , but this is one of the best
exactly
Which is why I’m back to listen to this great live version again! 😎
I agree it's badass!
Yep. This has always been my favorite Adam Ant song. And there are a lot of great ones.
These guys were one of the few rare performers where their live versions actually shit on their recorded output. Not too many artists who can achieve that
Very true! (:
I'm 17 and I've loved them for years now. Adam Ant revolutionized New Wave and New Romantic, he's a genius, and his style is legendary.
The new Ant-Man and Wasp say hello.
Adam Ant is one of those performers that can sing like it is coming from the original studio track.
From an 'Antist'
He was, and still is, my first Prince Charming. This was such a creepy, fun song. A sci-fi soundtrack for the mind.
And groovy horror film which I think was his thing :)
If u want sci fi creepy etc check out throbbing gristle around 70 to early 80s the only group of individuals who did not sell out
Started listening to this groove and both live and studio versions sound great! Love how he plays with his hair on the album cover! Makes me imagine the photographer tried to keep Adam still from being so antsy! ;)
Hit LIKE if you're here after seeing *AntMan And The Wasp* trailer...
Holy shit^^ a few minutes ago I saw the trailer and my first thought was, to search for this song and to copy it under the postin on fb :-D I was a very very big fan of Adam & the Ants and Mr. Ant himself.
Yeah, I recognised the tune and wanted to show my OH where it was from. XD
Yup, once I heard the guitar riff I knew I heard the song before, I was guessing Love And Rockets the game or Adam and the Ants, Killer in the home, I was close.. I had to pull out the Kings of the Wild Frontier to get it right.
Boy I feel old, cause I like it since 83 or so
...gonna- go find the AntMan And The Wasp trailer!😁
Amazing to see someone 14 years old enjoying Adam Ant. I'm 39 now and when I was 13 I thought he was the best. I was all alone in that.
My personal ant-them for my freshman year in college, 1981. Still love it!
Personal opinion: This is the best music video on CZcams. A band who are just so tight, talented and in their prime. A joy to watch every time.
Can't take my eyes off of him ! This and "never trust a man " are my favorites💙💜he's so stunningly handsome XO
Spectacular all around! Unparalleled vocals, guitar, bass and drum lines. Thank you Adam.
He deserved the later commercial success but the early punk / post punk is truly great. This included.
+marc h Yeah dude, I'm here because I just found out that NIN's "Physical" was a Adam and the Ants cover.
The Old Grey Whistle Test... I remember staying up late as a kid to catch this bitd. Pirroni... an old hand... FaB!!
amazing!!!! i cant believe how good they are live..adams voice sounds even better than the studio stuff, its taken till im 33 years old to realise this. first album i ever bought at the age of 6 was kings. under rated band, but for me one of the best!!
Fantastic! So special the two- drum sound...and he is still keeping alive with great appearances
Yeaaaaaah... I love Adam and his Ants... I love this since my childhood... I love Adam's mad look... really great... I love this song the most... ;)
i just died in the 1st 17 seconds , adam come back your THE MAN
"You gave her wings..??"
"AND Blasters..."
Awesome, as tight as a drum and imho it's stood the test of time✌️👍😊
A new collection of creations from Adam would be something to anticipate! Hey, is it me, or is the UK simply awesome? Adam and the Ants, The Damned, WIRE, new stuff from people like the Horrors... Jeesh! Energy meets style and majesty. US can't compare.
Antman and the wasp brought me here, but so did good classic rock music. But mainly the recent comic movie.
One of the best alt artists of all time. Hands (and all six legs) down!
100% perfection. Amazing
Two drums + three guitars. That's the ants invasion.
Fantastic Marco Pirroni.
Marco fantastic guitar playing also. What a recognizable guitar riff
I'm hitting 40 and i would love to see the younger generations enjoying this great music that we listened to, er, about 25 years ago..........where has the time gone?
I'm 32 and I "grew up" with this music because my mam and dad loved the 80s. My daughter now gets to grow up with it. Let's see!
Marco- what a guitarist.
This is by far the best Adam and the Ants clip on youtube. They are definately in their prime here.
Criminally under rated, seriously ❤
Ant-Man And The Wasp!!!!
Excellent! I am an Argentine fan of Adam and the Ants since 1980, when I was 15 y.o. Great ADAM!!!!
He had so much energy the right look fantastic costume he didn't just stand there motionless like some so called rock stars of today
Kings of the Wild Frontier still one of the best Albums ever- i bought it aged 13 years in 1981-one of the best decisions i ever made
You are the exact same age as me. I got a bootleg tape of the album and listened to it every day those 4 weeks on holiday
Me too..same age as you..It was a life changing album for me and got me through the hardest times in my life.
One of his coolest songs with killer guitar.
Every track indeed was totally original. No Oasis or Blur, Stones or Beatles comparisons to be made here. Nothing like it before or since. Genius.
The best song ever... I love Adam And The Ants... and this is their best song... love it and Im listening to it really often from my original CD, which is the most precious to me from all of my music collection... I wish I could hear it live!!!
This and Dog Eat Dog were two of the best that Adam and the Ants ever produced, imo.
I'd rate "Kings of the Wild Frontier" as a close third.
One of the best live perfomances on posted on YT! love Marcos G'tar
I don't think there was any better song to include in the new Ant Man & Wasp trailer.
"You might not like us now, but you will"
Indeed!
This is bloody brilliant. Sounds like a cross between KILLING JOKE and SLAYER.
So Clever, Been a fan since 1981, This proves they could do it live. Chris Hughes and Terry Lee are faultless, Amazing. Look up a docu called The Madness Of Prince Charming. Brilliant.
I love this more than 30 years now...wow :)
Another great song by the ants. ooohhh how I wish I was there at that eksact time...
True Perfection, I was only about 10 or 11 when this was shown on tv but i was hooked and i'm still loving it all this time on..best times ever!!!
Adam had problems. Guy was too intelligent in his spectrum of problems. Just got to say this was his greatest look.
wow, bought back many memories, excellent version
Oh that is effing heaven! Adam and Marco get out and do it again!!!
This is my fav Ant performance it's got it all. Great sound Great look Great image and Adam at his edgy finest ever. Fantastic.
is Adam Ant ....punk, new wave or alternative.....either way that rocked!!
Marvel are god damn geniuses
Thomas Drew Marvel know what music would fit with their movies.
However edits their trailers is/are geniuses
Adam ant is the best ever! So glad his song is in the new Ant Man and the Wasp trailer. I was wondering why none of his songs were in the first movie?
Nicholas Ball
They guess they never considered it. The person who thought of adding this song to the trailer may not have been working on the first film as well.
I come from trailer the antman and wasp. Like if you too
I'm long time Ants fan though. After buying Friend Or Foe, I went back and bought all the earlier stuff and followed him to Viva La Rock.
Nice to see and hear a group that can actually play and sing live!
I was a teenager in the '80's and I agree with you,I love anything by him-ants or solo. and kings has and will always be my fave album.(then prince charming!) only wish I would have had the pleasure to see him live! sigh!
damn good music--still--after all these years!
Love those looks he does at the camera, he has beautiful eyes so gorgeous
Can't lie, i'm only 18 and I always listen to adam/ Joan Jett/ Bowie. Nothing of this generation really compares, in pop culture anyway.
This was taken from the Old Grey Whistle Test, a music show in the UK back in the 80's. It always puzzled me that the Ants never released this as a single!
Love this version !!
I hadn't seen this one yet! *THANK YOU* for sharing this!
i saw this when it was first aired on the old grey whistle test great memories
the words, Pub, Kentish Town and Gun, spring to mind.
It's like SLAYER meets KILLING JOKE. Fantastic.

Its a big shame that they split but i see Adam seems to be doing fine on his own atm haha!
The 80's are coming back in the States...lots of Adam fans in the US that are going to re-surface..this song is awesome...

Incredible performance with lots of attitude. I like this!
Sabbath came first. Ants still rocked on this tune. My all time fave from them. The darkest heaviest tune they had imo.
Saw it 3x and it was awesome performance just like you said! :-)
