RIP Keith.
Comentário bem realista... Gostei!
How do you know you were there then?
That's some good shit! Cheers!

Still have tears 😭 in my eyes for Keith. What a legend ♥
Having a guy raving on ecstacy on stage is so 90s
that what made 90 so great.... also no phone cameras no worries :P
that's Leeroy and that's what he did, legend

late 80's too! It was very common!
Was he? He didn't look dehydrated to me at all.
The fact that they were the only electronic music act that regularly got invited to metal festivals speaks for how hard they were going live.
The music of The Prodigy makes me feel like I'm going to live forever.

Badass frontmen, badass band. You could be a diehard metalhead who hates all electronic music, but you couldn't hate The Prodigy.
Not really a band but its cool
larry Looney then why mention it?!?
Yep, transcends metal, rock, hip hop, dance. Everything! One of a kind, truely
Very true. True entertainment
They created something that was original, a sound like no other, all their tunes are bangers to this day!! Timeless.. I feel privileged to have been at one of the last sets they done before the unthinkable happened!!!!

Wow the energy of this set is crazy! The Prodigy are in a league of their own. I always thought that it was music of the future back in 1996. Now in 2023, I still feel like it’s the music of the future!
This is at least 50 years in the future!
They are great and all, but I can't imagine how one still finds this the music of the future in 2023. I feel that way when I listen to experimental psycore or something really fucking crazy.
It always reminds me of the burgeoning of the matrix, Then went to Hackers 90s film and transferred back to us current day lol
Perfectly said 👏
Exactly still listening to them even in 2024.
This gig generated more energy than a nuclear power plant. ;)
Nothing will suffice as we had it. But we had a catalyst

Prodigy were way ahead of their time. Truly a pioneer in its own right.
They're still ahead of their time. Can you imagine hearing this in the 90s? They blew everyone's minds. When Firestarter dropped the whole of Britain was obsessed with the vibe.
I'm out of breath just watching this
The guy doing all the actual work in the back, with his synths, keyboards and drum machines. Legend! Absolute legend beyond his time. Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk - bow and worship!
Liams the Man
"The guy in the back" is the creator of the group haha in the begining Keith (green hair) and Maxim (the one with the lenses on his eyes) were dancer only. Just like Leeroy (the one with the withes kicks who just dance)

Liam Howlett is a true musical genius. I can imagine people in the future will study his music like people of our time looked at other musical Prodigies from the past. I for one am looking forward to any new music from this band, in what ever form it takes.
And remember he did all that back in 1996... imagine what he can do with the technology we have today.
when you consider what he was doing with sampling back in '91, at a time when the max sample was 18 seconds or something... then add all the rhythmical innovation... The Prodigy Experience is a work of unparalleled genius.
Ты прав бро.
I met him once. Very relaxed guy. It was shortly after Keith died. Couldn't believe it, didn't even know him. He just vaped in the corner... he was playing for Carl Barat of the libertines. No idea what he was going through in his head, hope Liam is okay ATM. Such a lovely, quiet, well behaved gent xx
You would expect a dj in the back spinning things but nope, all done live with synths/drum machines/samplers etc, woah.
Absolute performance, incredible music!!

I was there and loved every minute. A bunch of mates, 4 days camping in a field and not a care in the world. it took 2 weeks to adjust to normal life. after more than 20 years I still get random flash backs of things I had forgotten. Like seeing these guys hahahahaha. 90's festivals were the dogs bollocks.
I recently spoke with someone about bands I wish I had seen. I then realised id seen half of the bands I thought i'd missed.

I saw them in Dallas, 95/96 at deep ellum live, two days after being discharged from a very complicated appendix surgery. Could have died. Can’t believe my parents let me go…I was 18 years old. I was on crutches. One of the best shows I’ve seen.

Every body in the world needs to see this. I truly believe this one of the best performances of anything ever. That performance of fire starter is something else. Everyone giving it there all. I will always be a fan because of this show. RIP
Completely agree. If I could be magically transported to see any live show at any time in history, it would be this one.
I was there, aged 16. Still got my t-shirt. The bogs were minging but this was the first show I saw when I arrived and it was BONKERS
I was lucky enough to have a pass to watch this show from the side of the stage..still have my wristband, laminate and lanyard from this..
I completely AGREE
I was actually thinking something similar. Quality comment.
Like everything is put together for one specific moment.
You got the feeling they could never disappoint, like every show was LITERALLY distinctive from the last, that Liam, Max, Keith and Leroy had to vary it to keep the momentum going, their fire in their bellies and could feed off the crowds.
They go on about big attended shows like Robbie Williams in Knebworth or wherever...bollocks!!!
The Prodigy could have played the entire population of both Essex and Hertfordshire, filled both counties and frankly, brought the entire area North of London to a standstill.
Easily one of the top bands I've ever seen in my life and I've seen both Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath the year after I saw Prodigy at V97.......
Look at that talented dude in the back, never missing a beat, mixing like a Pro. Damn!!!
Liam Howlett for you! Ladies and Gentlemen!
Yes! Feel the energy!
Liam's the top banana for sure. Besides the vocals, it wasn't very much of a live performance tho.. mostly playing DAT tapes. Great crowd, great show
It's sequenced dude, if not mostly a backing track. The sequencer never misses a beat.

The fact that this type of music was being played in 1996 is amazing and incredible. The energy from the crowd is crazy and I love it so much! Long live The Prodigy!
You might like Depeche Mode.
I think they came in at the perfect moment. It was perfect. The 90’s generation, boomers, x gen, we all appreciated music. Different styles, genres, eras, etc. as a teenager in the mid 90’s, we listened to everything. Anything/. As long as it was good. And there was so much good music to delve into. Oldies, pop, country, hip hop (and omg, what a decade for hip hop) grunge, metal, jazz, there was just so much good music everywhere. It’s disheartening that most current edm fans don’t appreciate what the prodigy did for the genre.

There is a hidden unity between underground dark genres of music & those who get it understand. The Prodigy at this point were as passionate & aggressive as Slayer & the fan base are of the same mindset.

There has been a lack of real game changers in the last 10 years or so. The 90's were stacked with original sounds.

I'm from Louisville Kentucky and there's a place called ear ecstasy and better days and both of those names of those shops really defined with the 90s were. I remember getting the fire starter single too and also the brief single just to get those extra couple songs that were either remixed or having a bonus song. I've seen Prodigy twice. Once n 2005 at Brixton Academy and again in 2009 at Glastonbury. Blown away both times. Such energy.
My brain is hard-wired for The Prodigy! They're my fuel and I gotta have it every day! They intensify everything in me and make my heart pump 120 BPM! 🎶
The last 10 minutes of this gig are cemented into my memory. When Maxim asked for some dancers on the stage the security were totally unprepared for the max exodus that soon followed over the barrier, overwhelming them so quickly. It's hard to see on the video but there was about a 3 / 4 minute period when there were easily 100 people running around on the other side of the barrier and quite a few on stage. Personally I climbed the 12 foot fence that came off the front barrier and sat watching absolute madness unfold. They played again 2 days later in the dance tent, and it was a bit dull compared. Security weren't going to be caught out twice!
