hii, this video is a reaction to yu gi oh abridged episodes 57 and 58. I have never watched the original yugioh series. I've always wanted to get into YuGiOh and thought watching YGOTAS would be fun as a blind reaction.

In the real duel, every damage the monster take, the user feel the same pain, and Marik had so little faith in Joey that he play soft with him, because he didn't want to beat him, he wanted to cause so much pain to Joey that he would die during the match for all the pain he had to endure, that's why this match is close.
With the Question card, in the OG version, Helpomer got sent to the grave early and started discarding cards from Joey's hand. Because Jinzo was one of those cards, Yami Marik had no idea which one it would be. To quote Joey in that moment "Sorry, stunned silence was not the answer we were looking for!"
There was a guy on CZcams who analyzes the battle on the anime and he said if it wasn't for the Shadow magic and the plot device saying that only Yugi can defeat Marik Joey would have won the game
Given Joey only passed out because of Shadow Game bullshit.... yeah, 100% true.
In the actual show, after Marik nearly lost, he literally pukes from the pressure and stress. Joey was 1 attack away from ending the final boss of Battle City.

Seriously, when you really think about it, the outcome of every single one of evil Marik's duels is complete and utter BS. Both Mai and Joey pretty much defeated him, but they still counted as losses because of stupid technicalities he invented. (I won't spoil the ending to his duel with Yami yet since you haven't seen that far in the main series, but it technically counts more as a victory but is still kind of a Deux ex Machina) And I think I know why, too. I think the creator wanted to make it seem like at least Mai would stand a chance, did way too good a job and wrote himself into a corner. I get the funny feeling that whole 'read the ancient text to summon Ra' was something he made up when he realized Mai would have easily defeated Marik at that exact moment, because god forbid anyone other than the main character beat the main villain. For the Joey duel, this one I do know the reason for. Basically, Joey was supposed to win. The author of the manga specifically wanted him to defeat the main villain, but then the editor came in and told him kids wouldn't like that, so he had to change the outcome at the last minute. Though in all fairness, it's not as if Joey exactly earned his victory against Odion, either.
The mai thing was partially the anime's fault. They extended the duel to make it look less one sided (and also to fill up time for the episode so there's not a weird cut off for the next duel).
In the manga marik beat mai way easier.
Joey overall hast the most bs duels, that almost always end because either one of the participants becomes unconcious or like in season 4 where one duel got cancelled by some bs power. He only has a few duels that end fair and square and these are against the minorest of characters.
There was no bs technicalities he invented. It was established only certain people could use the god cards. Mai fucked up, pure and simple. And Marik underestimated Joey and it nearly cost him. Again, pure and simple.
@@MrAsthmatic yeah, if mai didn't try to actually summon ra but instead just kept it in her hand, she would've won.
Unfortunately for her, she wasn't in the know about the god cards. So to her ra was just another overpowered boss monster.
yu gi oh gx is the sequel to the main yugioh, and 5ds is the series after that, and zexel is the next after that

And it's so funny it actually took you like 0.5~1 second to react to Joey's hax comments 😂😂
Anyone else notice marik kind of sucks at duel monsters. I mean he only ever seems to win by some weird technicality like Mai can't read Egyptian or Joey passes out before he can declare an attack. Then there's all those times he was mind controlling someone who lost. Those losses were kind of on him too.
OMG, finally someone said it! Marik is terrible at dual monsters and the only reason he lasts as long as he does is because he uses tons of rare cards.

The one at the very bottom was Zexal one of the good Yu-Gi-Oh series. It was the series that introduced XYZ summoning a great summoning method.

First Yu-Gi-Oh was the first anime I ever finished as kid I think I around 12 or 13 at the time
But yes Joey was and still is my favorite character in yigioh
I was so sad to see that happen to him Joey Wheeler is best character
And I really related to him because he's a big brother and he so sweet

Yugioh 5ds is actually really good (if you watch the English subbed version). It rivals, and might actually surpass the original in certain aspects.
But again-you have to watch the Japanese dub with English subs.
You take this abridged series way too seriously
