How to Decoupage Furniture with Napkins a Table

  • This video is from several years ago when there weren't so many decoupage glues available. I highly suggest you try any of the newer NAPKIN DECOUPAGE glues like the one listed below. I don't ever use Mod-Podge anymore since it made the surface of this table look like plastic over the years. I was able to add a very matte finish over it thankfully. :) When you want to decoupage furniture - especially a table, it's much easier to use smaller sections of a napkin as opposed to using whole napkins and risking wrinkles bubbling or tears. Here are the links to purchase your supplies although the napkins were discontinued years ago.

    Napkin Decoupage glue amzn.to/37RhuXn

You can also visit me on Facebook "@ Patioelf where you can post some pictures of your decoupage projects! Love seeing those!

I watched this video this morning while I was getting ready to go to church and something you said in it made me think :-) I don't know what your spiritual belief system is but I'm a christian and you said about how you love to find stuff that no one else wants ( junk in other words ) and work on them and to make them beautifull
And I thought ah! That's what JESUS did with me my life was in such a mess and he found me when no one else wanted me and has continued to
Work lovely and patiently to make me BEAUTIFULL ,well that's how I saw it this morning :-)

My mom does a lot of decoupage on cans, wooden jewelry boxes and I tried doing once but after gluing the napkins I started putting some glue over it (still glue wet) and it begun to tear apart and I said, " no way, this is not for me." I had really small shelves for my kitchen delivered yesterday and wanted them to be vintage or shabby chic style mixed with decoupage and after going through many videos I came across with yours and this is exactly what I want and the great idea of using the plastic instead of a paint brush like I used to is marvelous, fantastic! I loved this great idea. Thank you so much. Pleasant day.

+Lilian Marroquin I'm so happy to help Lillian. I used to hate to decoupage with napkins for just that reason, always tearing, bunching or wrinkling. I used only wrapping paper. There were so many beautiful napkins out there though, i was determined to find a way. :) Thank you!

Oh my goodness I think I found what I can do with the side tables I bought! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I think this is it! They are in my bedroom and since I am single I can do whatever I want to in my room and it is going to look like a garden LOL pink everywhere! I cannot wait to do this! Does anybody else out there have so many interests and so many things that you can’t possibly do them all???!! Ugh!!!

I watch other people try to do furniture, but they use UGLY prints/fabrics etc. YOU chose well, and the finished product looks amazing. Now I'm inspired.

      Hi Sue,
thank you! I am going to Good Will next week to look for a wooden sled. I decoupaged one years ago but I used copies of all of my favorite Christmas cards. I like it but I want to do something far more shabby this time! I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage. If you are on Facebook you can post pictures of your work or just look at everyone else's work! There are so many ideas from others on my page,,.it's really inspiring.
      have fun!

      Hi Jennifer!
You are actually a big inspiration to me! You post such amazing work on my face book page I'm always hoping that people know it's your work and not mine. You do a lot with furniture and you have a real talent for design! I was excited to find the old table, I loved the curved legs and I didn't even want to change the handle (hardware) on the drawer. Thanks Jennifer! I love hearing from you!

+Delia Kendall LOL! You are so much like me, and I'm always being accused of decoupaging anything that sits still for too long-even, accidentally of course, my pets. (they like to take naps near me while I work) I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage if you would like to share pix of your work, I would love to see it. Have fun and thank you so much!
