    I just received a gift of the most beautiful napkins from a dear friend. Too pretty to use, yet the napkins cannot be hidden away. I found your video and now know how to create something beautiful for me to see daily and a gift for my sweet friend. I had to go onto ArtDeco to find the supplies you use since Amazon is sold out of what you suggested (using your link). Bless you for your beginners video and the rest I am now an addict!

    Patti, it is great that you do beginner's videos. When I started decoupage some years ago, my hubby told me: Why do you wanna do that? This is soooo old and outdated. But (newly) crafters are still excited by it and that proves him wrong. And he loves how most of my projects turn out :-P
    Thank you for encouraging fellow-craftersto try and shared your pretty projects with us

      Omg when I decoupaged my first glass plate with yellow roses, he asked me: Where does this plate come from? I told him: Remember the round glass plate? This is my doing. From that moment on, he encouraged me to keep on designing :-)

    Hi, Patti -- I hope you are feeling much better from your injury -- I've been watching, but not on devices where you can leave a little note. The water carafe with the birds is one of my very all-time favorites !!!! Decoupage and your videos opened my life to crafting when I first discovered your channel all those years ago, and remains one of my favorites, and I incorporate it in so many things -- I hope you and the hubby and all the love bunnies are doing well -- how's the new pup -- big by now, I bet -- hugs, Patricia

    • @patioelf
      @patioelf  Před 5 lety +2

      Hello Patricia! It's so nice to hear from you. Thank you, I keep that carafe with the birdies out year round, sometimes with little lights inside of it and sometimes just in the sun. It's very sweet of you to mention that about crafting and how my channel is one of your favorites. I know how many other channels are out there. There are some amazingly talented people here on youtube aren't there? Hubby is doing very well thank you, and yes the pup is now 50 pounds and life is a party according to her. She brings new happy life into our home. The poodles aren't so excited although the five pound one runs the show. She keeps her in order! LOL. Hugs to you and it's so nice to hear from you!

    Norma here. I’m not a beginner, but watched anyway in case you had any tips that I’ve never heard before. This is the first time I’ve seen this technique where you apply the decoupage glue on top of the napkin without applying it to the surface first.
    My favorite method is using the iron. On non flat surfaces, I use plastic wrap to smooth out wrinkles.

    ( sorry 4 the long text) The Napkins are gorgeous... which i have really never searched for or seen like yours. However, wanted to try some decoupage w tissue paper knowing it applies nicely. I will use colored magazine swotches, cloth or any paper that will add some accent. Depends on WHAT theme or mood you're into. It's late in PA.🌖⭐ Have alot of idea's at the drawng board. Tomorrow awaits. SO many idea's!!! Here's one; Take a small branch that has fallen. Let it dry out inside ur place if real wet. I love to take my pocket knife..scrape off SOME bark...leaving SOME on. Grab some medium or fine sandpaper. Smooth it out. Remove any dusty residue. Coat the bare wood w homeade modpodge . While still wet @ stucky..APPLY Ur rustic, outdoor magazine or book pics.carefully aroound the stick. Gently tap it down. It Will stick well. Let it set a couple hrs..or less. Add another coat for a final lovely finish. And there you have a cool piece of "deco-wood sculpture" to lay against a shelf, or place in a houseplant for an awesome look! I love them. Next...😁decoupage on a Canning Jar w overlapped colourful Tissue Paper. Looks cozy beautiful w a votive or fake flickering candle inside, reflecting the pretty shades of torn tissue paper GN. Im whooped!!

    Loved how you did this. Can you use the same method on a tile for a coaster?
