      Do you seal the project with a sealer (ie: mod podge, or other sealer) when you're done with the iron?

      On most projects I would give a couple light coats of a spray-on sealant

      Hi! Smudge from ink that was not.waterproof. It wrinkled because the glue didn’t completely dry. It take time to dry like several days or more. You can re-iron. Next time give more time to dry and give several very light with LOTS of drying time between coats. - Joan

      Hi Monique! This is my rule of thumb. If it’s a sign or something that will never be touched or out in the elements I do not bother. When I do seal I use a clear spray...very light misting...not heavy...a couple coats give time to dry between coats. - Joan 🙂

    Love your video's. Do you put the mod podge on top after you iron it

      Hi Judy! I usually will do a few light sprays of Rustoleum clear sealant. Something small like a coaster, I do a very light coat of Mod Podge then iron, the same exact method. - Joan 🙂

      @@JoanMarieDomino so are you saying after you iron your napkin on , you reapply mod podge and once it dries you iron again?

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 3 lety

      Yes I do that sometimes but only on smaller things like coasters, larger things I go right to a spray sealant as I mentioned, - Joan 🙂

    After you iron on napkin, do you put 1-2 coats of mod podge??

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Marilyn! You can put a coat of Mod Podge on top, wait for it to dry then iron again. This is a good way to seal. Just remember to use the baking parchment on top before ironing. You can also use a clear spray sealant. Krylon and Rustoleum make them. Hope that helps! 🙂

    Do you only paint the front or do you add something to the back? Also do you ever sand any of your wood prior to adding acrylic paint? Thx

      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 4 lety +1

      Sometimes I paint the back of my projects especially if I’m giving it to someone because it looks more finished. I rarely sand wood unless it’s shiny. Usually chalk paint adheres well to wood and the napkin adheres well to the paint. - Joan 🙂

    How do you get the hole in the center off

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 4 lety

      The doorknob hangers come with the hole. I remove the napkin from the hole
      the same as the edge, use a small nail file. Thanks for watching Debra! - Joan 🙂

    What did you use to glue the napkin to the wood? Just the wax from the patch paper?

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Ardi! Please watch the video! I am very clear on what I use to adhere the napkin to the wood. The adhesive is very important to do the method correctly. Wax paper and parchment paper will NOT work as an adhesive. - Joan
