Thank you!! I’m going on try this on a sewing box I found on the side of the road too 🤩
Wonderful!
I just decoupaged upholstery fabric on the inside back of a cabinet I painted with a faux copper patina paint finish. Everyone loves it and it was really easy. The thick fabric is wrinkle proof. The only problem I had was cutting the excess.
Great idea !!
What a clever use for a scarf to marry with a table, and those feet added are adorable

Turned lovely, thank you for the polyacrylic tip 👍 I’ve tried fabric with mod pudge on small items and it’s ok for little things.

I think it would be too thick

This came out beautiful, thanks for sharing, When you have a chance, would you give the french name of that poly you use on your table pls ? have a great day !
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed Christine. Oh my I am not sure. It is water based polyacrylic sealer any brand will work
I would like to decoupage fabric onto a wood plaque…..and once dry, I would like to decoupage a photo copy of my parent’s signatures on top. What would be the best way to do this? Also, can the iron on method be used with fabric onto wood?
Never knew you could do this and now you’ve given me a great idea. YOur tool board in the start of this video behind you, that I’m guessing was a mirror once a upon a time. I have a beautiful frame from a mirror too and I need somewhere to put all my garden tools so I’m going to decoupage the inner and re drill all the holes in that board you put behind the frame I also have little pots the same to store all my bits and bobs.
Glad I could help!
Curious, do you know how easily this can be removed? I have a coffee table that needs to be refinished, but I don’t want to do all that work now while I have a child and lots of pets.
It would be tricky to remove
I’ve fabric decoupaged several times with thin cotton, my favorite but have you ever tried fabric decoupaging with chiffon or polyester? Think silk is also very easy as well. Just wondering.
Yes I’ve tried lots of different materials and they all work really well thanks for watching glad you enjoyed
Have you ever taken 70 yr old magazine articles and cleared coated it to the top of a end table? I have some super cool 70 yr old music magazines and the covers are beautifulllllllllll. I was wanting to take the covers and put them onto vintage end tables with a clear coat on them so ppl can see them. I've never done this before. Is it possible, hard, very involved or fairly easy for a beginner? I live near music venues so the vintage magazines would be super cool but I don't know how to put them properly onto vintage small tables so they have clear coat fininishes and adhere properly. Tips?
Sounds like a fun project! Should work well
I have a light cotton table cloth that I am constantly washing because of messy kids, if I did this with the cloth would it be okay as is after finishing? Or would I need to seal it with something more resistant to wear when I scrub down the table? If so I was considering Varathane triple thick polyurethane.
Yes that might work ok!
Would this work on laminate wood? I want to redo my cube shelf like this! Or should I sand it down before?
Would need a primer or sand
I would like to decoupage some heavier upholstery fabric to the doors of a sideboard. As the fabric is quite textured, I was thinking of not adding layers of poly acrylic over the fabric once it is glued to the wood. Please may I ask you for your thoughts?
Yes, that would be beautiful but I’m not sure if the poly acrylic would be strong enough to hold it on there you might want to use a different type of glue I would go to the hardware store and ask what they think would be the best adhesive to use fabric to wood
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you so much. 😀
Do you need to use the clear satin finish or will the matte or flat finish work?
Either will work
Can the poly acrylic you are using in this project be used for all decoupaging projects rather than Mod Podge? I decopauge with paper napkins and thin papers as well.
Yes, you can use poly acrylic instead of mod Podge
My family had a agricultural seed company in the 1960s and they used thick cotton feed sacks. How could I use them on a table since they're a thicker material? Thanks.
Might be a bit thick but would be worth a go :) How wonderful to have those bags!
Do you put the fabric straight after the polyacrylic or wait to dry out a bit?
Straight on
Do you think this would work for floor tiles?
Probably not
Instead of using an X-Acto knife to trim the fabric, could you have use that technique with a lighter that burns the extra fabric away?
No it’s too thick
Can you do this on plastic do ya think?
Yes you can but it might not hear very well if you’re doing it on plastic I would spray it with a spray primer first and then decoupage fabric on top of that
Nice, but Polyurethane is not poly-acrylic. ;)
i love the technique but the color of the table is not my cup of tea...i try the technique before and it looked horrible because i used spray glue..now i am going to try your technique and see if i can have a better luck...thank you for sharing..
Yes the poly will work much better :)
Why not just tuck the fabric around the edges instead of cutting it?
You could
It’s pronounced daycopodge not deecopoge.
My Canadian accent! Thanks for watching
Pronunciation is by and large a regional thing. It’s also rude to say things like this to people.
I really see no point in a decoupaged table top.
