I remember my 1st day in the CAF... Boarded an Air Canada flight with 4 guys from Wpg and 2 from Brandon... Landed in Halifax, and took the train with the guys. The Duty NCO took one look at me and had no idea what to do with me, as I was the only female in the group. About 10 mins later my M/Cpl showed up during "Amnesty inspection"... Told me to repack my luggage and follow her. This was Friday Eve, 3 April 1981... It was quite an exciting day for my 1st time away from home, and only 17... the next 23 years "Just Happened".

I joined in 2008. Quite week 3/4. I wanted to change my trade from signal operator to supply tech.
I was told I had to VR voluntarily release and remuster. I did this and was told by the recruiting office in Vancouver I had to go through the entire recuritment process again. I was also told I could have changes my trade after completing BMQ. Whoever told me at BMQ to release was an idiot.
      I didnt rejoin.

@@MuffHam remuster is when you are already in your trade and going to another trade ,no idea why someone would say to release to do a remuster, sounds like someone didn’t like you and wanted you gone….anyways lots of lies and fake promises in the military fuck them all.

@@onemadmudder9686 Yeah BMQ wasn't the greatest. I heard the real training / boot camp was SQ. Solider Qualification. I was set to spend 8 weeks in SQ as a single OPT.

@@Shannon_RobbieThis show was filmed in the late 2000s, it's extremely outdated compared to basic training nowadays.
The essential elements are still there, but with the culture change of both Canada and the CAF in the past decade, alongside the heavy impact of COVID-19, treatment of recruits has changed and new rules have been implemented. (A small one for instance being the CAF's current stance on haircuts.)
