Speaking as a 10 yr vet be prepared when you make it to your unit as a new officer. Piece of good advice if your troops are working so are you, if your troops are awake so are you. 2ndly always look after the troops under your command that and thier families. Also be willing to learn from the troops under your command they have more field and deployment experience than what you have. You follow that advice and you'll do fine.
LMAO I find this very funny as a Infantry Veteran. Because when I was in the CF infantry school my course leader/2Lt that was still in training wearing the same Infantry cap badge as us and not the 1RCR badge. He said he failed one question on his officers exam. The question he failed and same one he asked all of us and we failed. It comes down to this! On a mission everyone is tired and sleep deprived. Do you let your troops sleep for 4 hours or do you let yourself get sleep! My 2Lt said troops WRONG! The Officer needs sleep!!!!! The Officer is the brains of the Operation if he is sleep derived he won't be thinking clearly! Which will get Infantry men killed!
How important is a brain, if the body its in is done?

I am literally ten days away from going for BMOQ and just wanted to thank you. I’ve been torn between excitement and what I can only describe as some minor form of existential dread as the time draws near and your video helped to alleviate said dread. 🤣

@@juicedup.7723 They allow your phone half an hour a day, usually at 9pm to 930. The staff use your phone as a punishment tool. Example if your platoon is late showing up somewhere (even by a minute) they can take it away for an entire week depending on how strict the instructors are. On the weekends after week 4 you are allowed to use it from friday at 9pm to sunday at 9pm.
Trust me you will be so busy you will not have time to touch your phone anyways

You will lose your affinity for the lunch rations after you get them for every meal for a month lol everyone else did. We were excited for new rations when they switched 5 years ago but ya they fade quickly. Have fun on the beginning of the longest goat rodeo of your life lol congratulations on your graduation.

Why are you the only one with a hair cut? Are they not mandatory anymore during bmq/Bmoq?
Shaved head was no longer required for Mod 2, it simply had to be a regulation haircut. I still however shaved my own head.

Were you able to shave your own head during initial BMOQ? or just let the barber cut it periodically with everyone else?
I got it cut every two weeks with the platoon.
I did my basic training last summer. Quite the experience.

@@jackburgess5819 yeah we rode a helicopter had a C4 demo (first BMQ to ever have one) NVG map and compass. Assault boats. Repal tower. It was Grey Wolf in Meaford,ON 4th Canadian Division

do i need to have a good score on the CFAT if i wanna join the Infantry ? & I read somewhere that the army had very bad equipment and fired only 50 bullets per person per year during training, does the budget really that low ?
I am unsure about the specific grading system for the CFAT, but yes you need good scores for any job and the highest for jobs like pilot, engineer, or intelligence. And when it comes to training, it's a mix of live rounds, blanks, and electronic simulators. Also, non combat trades probably don't need to train with ammo as much right?
Josh Bortolotti The article said that it is the infantry that has a small budget, at the same time its date of 2015 so maybe now it's different. Thank you for your response 💯💪🏽
I’m currently studying for my Aptitude test, You’re videos have really helped me prepare for everything. I was wondering if you have any tips for the aptitude test.
Andre Corr do a lot practice on how to divide by hand for the math portion, it’ll help
I HIGHLY suggest working on long division and multiplication by hand. I was told (at the recruiting centre after failing my test) to practice using the CFAT trainer app as well, it's free and very helpful. Number one reason people fail the first time is the problem-solving section/math but it is also the easiest to improve on, so long as you put in the work. Good luck!
Where can I study for the aptidute test?
Marwan Chatila if you have an iPhone, it’s worth buying the CFAT trainer. The spacial portion is literally the same as the real exam.
If you're applying for aircrew, definitely work on spatial ability

What’s the difference between BMQ & BMOQ? Do Reservist attend either ?
BMOQ is for Officers. BMQ is for Non-Commissioned. Yes reservists also do it, just with their home unit and in a much shorter amount of time.

I got enrollment offer but I can not make it because of my current circumstances, If decline the offer would I ever get offer again? MCC told me I can put you for another date and he also said no guarantee not sure

Purely luck. With the amount of new people being rotated in and out every week, these decisions are made ahead of time. Organizing a thousand candidates at any given time need lots of preplanning. However I am not aware of Officer Cadets living in Green sector, but I have seen Private Recruits in Blue Sector.

Are there curtains on all the showers at BMQ Quebec?
I have questions? So after basic training is completed? You’re decided to choose any position you want right?
What you do is apply for a certain position if you get accepted you will start your BMQ first to graduate and then train in that position
I was told to apply through the canadian forces website. Your home regiment won't always help you out.
Hey what’s up bro I was just about to do my testing before this whole virus thing started and they canceled it. Got questions though. How do you have to be financially before joining ? No debt or is it okay to still be paying off a car kinda thing ?
I believe that you can't be bankrupt. Debt is an obvious thing that adults have so you just need to get your finances in order and make sure you are able to make your payments on time.

They do. But you have to pay for it with your own cash.

I brought the boresnake from the start. The tarp I bought after our first week in the field.
What are some differences between the experience shown in this video vs NCM BMQ?

@@JoshBortolotti Yes I have. I would like to know if there was anything not shown in that series that happens at BMQ. I just want to be prepared so that I can condition and train myself before I go aha.
Once you are off "indoctrination" you can leave on weekends. That was never really shown. You have to buy everything yourself, even the haircuts. No more bayonet training. The actual weight lifting PT happened only twice over the 13 weeks, so what is shown in that show is a bit misleading.

@@madelineclothier you can check online to see what the Canadian Forces pays per rank. Deductions include rations and quarters (food and rent), meaning they take away like 150 a month for your room and like 400 for your meals. You are required to purchase many materials as well at the beginning, so make sure to have all of your finances in order before you leave.

If you have seen all of my videos on the Forces and still have a question than shoot. Know that I have not completed all of my training yet and therefore only have so much advice I can offer.
Do you get to go on your phone daily?
There is a designated 30 minute period after training hours assuming you haven't done anything to warrant them being taken away.

Honestly just diet. Make sure you eat everything with protein given to you and buy those pre-made protein shakes from the canex when you can. Prison style workouts in your quarters help too.

As of now the ROTP has been suspended for civilian university, so RMC would be your only option for subsidized education.

Our officer training plan had us do basic in two installments. This footage is from the second one. Shaving heads only occurred during the first.
Is there a new standard issue combat boot? Other videos i've watched, I see a tan boot instead of the traditional black.
Stephen Hofing yup tan is standard issue now although I have seen people still being issued older models

@@stephenhofing1875 Finished basic April 1st. Currently there are two models being used, one is light tan coloured and is very comfortable. The other is dark brown and light tan coloured that have a zipper going down the side, i'm told (i had the other kind) that they are comfortable and the zipper is nice for quickly putting on but that the toes often blow out completely and on ruk marches they have poor heal support - my fireteam partner got bad ankle problems from these boots.
Yeah those boots are nice if you are in an office environment, but not for actual "combat boot purposes"
@@nicolasclermont893 as a new recruit, can you buy hour own at the Cannex? As a person who has worn steel toe construction boots i know a good comfortable pair makes for happy feet.

Im an introvert, I aint socially weird or anything. Watching this video, the BMOQ dorms looks like itll be exhausting. It looks like itlll be a frat-like setting and youre expected to hangout and chill with people 24/7. 😬 which yo I dont mind chilling with people, but damn, after a long day of training, Id want my own space to do me and recharge, I would not wanna have to hangout with 5 different dudes chilling in my room.

So on bmq or bmoq do you get days off like sundays for example or do you train everyday. And will the instructors go tough on you if they know you were a cadet before cause I heard that but I don't know if that's true or not.
You get weekends off after a month. Instructors are only rough on the cadets who pretend their cadet experience matters.

Division patch, your platoon will be Alpha 11 for example, Alpha having a dark blue division patch.

Hey Josh, I'm in the process of hopefully getting accepted into the Forces. You mentioned after the first month of BMQ you get weekends off. So if I'm a 45 minute drive from my hometown in location from base, can I drive home for the weekend?

@@yasarhassan5803 If you are talking about a college diploma (2-3 year programs), then it would probably not qualify as a potential officer candidate. If you are talking about those new college degrees (4 year programs) then I don't know. Though you may not qualify as an Officer, you can definitely apply for NCM (Non- Commissioned Member). Also, it depends on what you trade you are applying for within the CAF. If you want a definite answer, contact your nearest recruiting centre.
Is it possible to fail the aptitude test?
Yes. If your personality matrix and intelligence score are not in line with any of your career choices. About 15-20 people did the aptitude test with me and only 3 (including myself) passed.
