- For a while, OnePlus was the champion of offering great performance without the price. And that's still true to an extent, particularly when it comes to its Nord family.
The latest OnePlus Nord 2T is a lot of phone for the money, but how does it compare to the competitive mid-rangers from the big-names? Specifically, the Galaxy A53 from Samsung.
Both have very similar full retail prices, and each has its strengths and weaknesses. So which should you spend your money on?

Great review btw - I'm kinda leaning towards the OnePlus Nord 2T simply because of overall performance and because I've used a Realme 7 Pro with 65w SuperDart charging. I think I'd gladly take the wide angle lens and battery capacity hits for faster charging and better performance.
I've made my decision to buy this phone and will be placing an order next week. It seems like a really nice phone and if this review amongst others are anything to go by, I think I'll be more than satisfied once this beast is in my hand. I am of course referring to the OnePlus Nord 2T btw. It will most likely surpass my expectations. Can't wait to get my hands on this handset.
90 hz is the sweet spot….most won’t feel the difference to 120.

It is oke But if you want a real good camera you should buy a Google Pixel: 6 , 6 pro or the new 7
They have the best camera , definitely
Money wise ; the Pixel 6 is now in my country just over € 550
You get much longer updates ( 5 years) and the value on the second hand market is much higher

Just bought the oneplus 2T 5g. Upgraded from the 7T. The phone is amazing for the price, very impressed

@@bjc688 There had been a singular incident in which a Nord 2 exploded inside the trouser pocket of a guy. This happened in India. Similar incidents were reported subsequently. These turned out to be unsubstantiated. Nord 2 remains one of the best selling phones here despite the incident.

Just bought the A53 for 299€ on a black friday sale. Good price in my opinion.

* CORRECTED there is SD support. No h/ p jack or charger in the box.
I much prefer the Nord 2T to replace my Poco F2 Pro, as i saw somewhere it should still get 3 years security from it's May? release and Android 13 & 14 - which is good enough if not as long as Samsung. (My Poco won't get 13 and security is in the air atm at 1 September.
BTW I like this channel, it's format, length and cam the presenter. Why doesn't it get much views?

A53 still has the micro SD card slot, it just lacks the headphone jack.

@@PETRAKOV1 lies. I had op6, op7t, now i have nord2t and op9. None of these had any issues with app gallery.
I was checking yesterday in the shop the A53, S22 and One Plus Nord CE 2 (2T not yet available to buy), and compared in terms A53 vs Ce 2, the One Plus felt way more smooth. Of course the S22 is at another level, I like it but you know the heat and battery issues. I think for a mid-range the One Plus seems a better option and the interface is lighters seems as you comment.
Still struggling to decide...

The 5G will work in USA and in China but make sure you get the unlocked version from My World Phone
Was trying to decide between these exact phones a few weeks back. Got a used S20 Ultra for £325 instead and I have zero regrets 👌

did you buy the US version of the S20 Ultra or the global? I ordered the S20 ultra used but then found out the processor used in the global phones isn't as good as the Snapdragon, so I cancelled and I'm rethinking...
@Bogdan Ștefăniță Mitu Yes it is Exynos, but I knew of it's lower performance. I'm not a power-user, I'm coming from an old phone so it's already far superior to what I had :P

Just got the a53. The terrible haptics are a deal breaker. Makes a midrange phone feel like a cheap toy.

@@PETRAKOV1 here in Norway the one plus comes with a stock Android software. The nord doesn’t have a app gallery. Not my phone anyway

yeah i feel you, i wonder why samsung would slap on a very sub-par processor in terms of performance relative to ir's competitors, It doesnt have the best camera either so i dont know what their selling point was

Everyone saying A53 should consider holding both phones at same time... OnePlus as always delivers a premium quality feeling build as for Samsung besides being bulky its cheap plastic feel. OnePlus all the way. Besides the Sony sensor in OnePlus camera is superior to the one in A53 and has a 960 fps slow motion mode wich is really fun

Most people tend to say Oneplus, but what if battery, 'life expectancy' and camera quality is the most important?
I got the a53, and returned it immediately for the Nord2T and couldn't be a happier. I can't talk about all the details comparing the phone on paper, I'm not all tbat techy. But I can say with confidence that the Oneplus feels premium and the a53 feels like a plastic toy. I think for the vast majority of users the slight differences in camera and batter life are dwarfed by the difference in feel for a thing that's in your hands maybe hours a day. The a53 haptic are utterly abysmal, like words than my A8 that I got like 3 years ago. As to battery life, the T2s fastest charger is so quick its ridiculous, it basically makes longer battery life obsolete. I charged from 0 to 25% in like 5min.
If you can get both and return one try it, for me it wasn't even close. The 2T is on an other level compared to the a53, maybe not ob paper, but definitely in your hand.

@@shanepatrick641 Yeah but the haptic were the real deal breaker for me. The a53 truly feels like a cheap vibrator 😂 The T2s haptics are quick and snappy making for a much more pleasurable typing experience.
@@pochopmartin fair enough man, personally I've always turned it off so I only hear the sound. Not keen on feeling vibrations each time I type a letter lol.

For 6a you still need to buy adaptor and Case, while Nord 2T comes with everything
Pixel 6a will have 60Hz screen. For me its dealbreaker in 2022. 90Hz refresh is minimum
