It's worth sticking with Lightburn after the trial. I've setup a less powerful laser engraver for engraving only (no cutting) and I watched quite a few youtubes before hand. The consensus was for ease of use and only needing/wanting to learn one piece of software - Lightburn is a good choice.
Yeah Ive bought it now, was told Id be receiving a better laser but they're fucking about now :-(

Well yeah, erm no.. I’m really disappointed it can’t cut anything of substance mate, I wanted one that cuts 12mm for router templates and stuff like that. The engraving is fun though..

I don't think that come that big mate, I think its 10 or 20w just enough to tickle you.

What were the dimensions of the board you cut for the grid pattern?
I’m sorry I’ve no idea now, that was a while ago. The grid itself was 400 by 400 and I guess the board was 50mm bigger.
Literally just started watching this. I've had mine about a month now... had no idea the instructions were on that card! Mine's a LM2 and second hand though and I totally need an enclosure like yours to stop the entire street thinking there's a house fire. I still haven't decided what I'll use mine for, do you have any plans or just laser curious? Mine's 10 watt so takes about a week to cut through things, but engraving is fun.
It’s just a box thrown together bud, I was proper worried someone would walk in and be blinded by it. Though problem is it’s massive! I used what ever I could find 18mm ply and mdf, at the time I didn’t know if I would keep it either so I didn’t go full send with it, I’d probably use 12mm next time and I’d figure out some way of being able to laser ends of boards say like chopping boards. I was really hoping it could cut though 6mm is about the limit I need it to cut 12mm for router templates and the likes.
Din't look quite that easy to me; I feel all such machines should be plug and play, usb in, done... 😉

I bought an ORTUR Master 3 LE in January, and it still does not work. I have sent loads of emails, videos, and photos, so they sent me a secondhand laser, which does not work either. Today 31/05/2023 and I have been ripped off by ORTUR.
What’s up with it? Is it that it doesn’t cut or?
@@HewAndAwe It does not cut 2mm cardboard or three mm plywood. It does not even engrave.
Wow! And they wouldn’t send a new module? Have you tried the official ortur Facebook group?
