    Hey Andrew, was wondering if the taper on the glass and tumbler makes things difficult? Would setting the glass in a roll of duct tape or something similar keep the distance from the laser more even? This is quickly becoming my favorite channel… good luck with ur projects

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před rokem

      You can actually cut a wooden ring with the laser the same outer diameter as the large end of the glass or tumbler. Then slip it on the smaller end to make things even. Or you can use the adjustable height mechanism that come extra with the rotary.

    Andrew, I was wondering if you have a basic design for your laser machine and you have a thick piece of wood like you had today, would you be able to flip the piece of wood over and finish the cut from the back side. Kind of like if you were drilling something and you don't want to blow out the other side so you drill a little then move to the other side. If your computer program will allow you to rotate your design you might be able to do more complex tasks if you can burn from both side? I don't have a laser burner so I am putting it out there if you want to see if you can. Thanks God bless

    So that little thing you cut or made for the chickens was a little place for them to roost, I’m pretty sure that’s how they make roosters. 😂
    I think the 10 W version will work a lot better. When I was looking at industrial lasers for cutting thicker metal nails it didn’t matter what your application was having a more powerful laser was always a better option. No more powerful laser cuts faster and puts less heat into the material you’re cutting so it’s able to direct the heat exactly where you want it. CNC plasma cutters are the same. Always oversize your plasma cutter. A lot of people will try to adjust a plasma cutter to optimize it and that’s cool if you’re trying to save energy but anytime I’ve ever used a plasma cutter just cranking it up worked best, The only exception is if you’re using very very thin material. There are some differences in the types or quality of laser also. That 10 white does about as well as the stuff I worked with about eight or 10 years ago that were 15 whites and 30 whites, and the lenses and consumables make a big difference as well. I’m glad to see you the stuff is advancing and getting cheaper. That will probably do everything the laser the shop I was working with but for almost $20,000 just eight or 10 years ago. Just be careful and make sure you’ve got good ventilation and aren’t breathing the fumes. Lol.

    • @TKCL

    Ok, I am getting really discouraged with this laser. I ran a project on .13" oak ply at 300 mm/m and three passes at 90%. It took over an hour and a half and didn't come close to cutting through. Any ideas? Will this machine actually cut?

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před rokem

      Are you using air assist? That makes a significant difference in my experience. Air assist should always be used for cutting. Are you making for sure to properly space your laser head above the work piece? I own a Xtool d1 10watt and this laser, I can attest that the laser Master 3 cuts better than the Xtool.

      FYI hardwoods will be significantly harder to cut than softwood like pine. Oak is a very solid wood.

    They sent me a zip file they said that I need to put in my Ortur laser master 3 in an email but they did not tell me where it goes or how to get it there. I sent them a message back and they just say drag it in the program but they don't say what program I told him that I don't use laser gerbil are use Lightburn. Any help will be useful thank you. Hope you get better from your Covid . A little orange juice and vodka we usually help ! Also have the same Ortur Pro 2

    Please put this thing in an enclosure, any metal that reflects the laser light out of the frame will damage your eyes. Real laser cutters/ engravers are enclosed and have appropriate laser shielding for eye protection. These things are great, yes but you only have vision once!

    There are three omicron variants going through the US, one of those escapes the immunity, given by all previous variants, So catching covid more than once is entirely possible. For those in vulnerable groups that debate vaccination, research so far shows that vaccination still reduces the risk of severe illness and complications even when it is not as effective to prevent infection. People that don't want to vaccinate, that is fine too, for most healthy people, the current variants pose a very limited risk (comparable to normal flu)

    I'm really not sure why this is considered "amazing power". The 20 watt lasers have been out longer than this model are are twice as powerful. Disappointed that Ortur didn't release it's own 20w model.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před rokem +1

      I'd assume one is coming soon. But it will be considerably more money. There is plenty of usefulness with a model like this at a more respectable price point.
