Disney Channel used to be basically a graveyard of forgotten TV shows late at night. "Boy Meets World" and this show were a prime part of a quiet lineup no one knew was on...
Boy Meets World is still one of the greatest sitcoms imo, its a shame they put it on so late/early that you had to catch it by chance if you even knew about it

I loved this show as a kid. But yeah the Dasey vibes were so strong the whole show, like it deserves a "what are you doing stepbro?" Label. The actors have a lot of fun with the fan base and are very supportive of it.

I actually thought that was a really important message - I've seen a lot of games which have sexist undertones but have great plots/characters so it is confusing for girls to feel empowered by characters who are portrayed to be sexual icons. Would like to point out this is NOT all games only SOME are guilty of doing this.
The funny thing is that I recently got into the Life with Derek discord on tumblr in the past month, and then, you post this video! I agree rewatching shows we watched I like elementary and middle school is extremely eye-opening.

It's because Canadian TV is way wilder than their neighbors to the south. You didn't even get to the more explicit jokes, like when Derek talks about dating a girl because of how she looks with some very specific _suggestive_ details.

I'm glad that finally ppl are talking about how this show was weird. I did watch it in 2009-10 ish (international viewer here) and always found their dynamic weird. At the time my thinking was that: "you only have an older sister + cultural differences, duygu" soo I let it 'slide' but like.... LIKE....

You want to talk about watching it back with full context? I was five when I started watching this show. Watching things back now is so much different now that I'm old enough to really understand a lot of it because jokes and scenes in these shows used to go over my head a lot as a kid. There are so many that I watch again and go, "Oooooh! That makes so much more sense now!" and ones that make me go, "Oh. Well, that's completely . . . different than what I remember."

Does anyone else remember the episode where Casey's aunt was getting married and stay with them along with her cousin Vicky/Victoria. And the entire episode Derek and Vicky were eye-banging and flirting with each other and they ended up making out with each other at the end. Meaning that since Derek is Casey's STEPBROTHER. Derek was kissing his STEP COUSIN. This show really was the genesis of "WHAT ARE YOU DOING STEP BRO?"
