Having trouble catching Joe's attention to illuminate on a plethora of subjects, but I need the fans help to get there. We've unlocked the matrix, DMT experience, psychic powers, super-conscientiousness, etc...
Ali is judging from his own perspective. Homeless problem doesn’t solve with his method. Most homeless stuck in psychological trap, they don’t want to fix their life they want have great life like it was shown on tv. Everybody wants to be millionaire and do nothing. It’s cultural collateral damage, people dreaming not working and you want to give them them job? Stupidity is overwhelming
I recently got out of being homeless and I can say this is a great plan for those who want to help themselves. In my city most of the homeless population doesn’t want to work to help themselves because it’s easier to wait around with their hands out, sadly it works. I was turned down from receiving any sort of help because I work full time, and I don’t suffer from mental health or substance abuse issues. As I said I think this is a great plan and frankly anything is better than the plan they have in place now where I live. No matter how you look at it, the approach to the homeless problem in this country needs to be re evaluated in a major way.
Im curious given your insight into this issue, how would you go about trying to assist or provide relief in some way for others who don’t want to help themselves? I know from my experience helping out at food pantries and soup kitchens there are some people that are perfectly happy to be catered to and never even attempt to better their own circumstances. Sorry if it comes off as brash, it’s not meant that way.
Two points. We don’t have a homeless problem we have mental health problem aka drug problem And 40 billion isn’t going to Ukraine 10 billion is. If that 4 billion will actually to towards war. 6 to corrupt oligarchs. 30 billion is going into the pockets of our intel overlords and politician class and other elites in media to continue to provide favorable press. Ukraine was corrupted in 2014 by DNC, Soros & WEF. It’s all one big scam. Did we just not skip over the bio labs with hunter Biden ties ? Much of this corruption was shown by Glenn Beck in a chalkboard when they were impeaching the first independent president since Lincoln.
Well spoken, the majority of people who've been homeless for years and years, chose to be. Those of us who found ourselves homeless at one point and decided we didn't want that, we sought the help that was there.
Joe, I’m just blown away that in the first minute of this show you brought to light what so many Americans are thinking. We have so many problems at home that need to be solved yet our politicians are bought and sold by lobbyists. We need to do better.
There are programs EXACTLY like what he’s describing here, all over the country. The issue is they’re few and far between, and they’re funded by non profits that are allocating donations to many different areas, so the money is stretched too thin. My mom worked for a program just like this when I was in high school. They worked on rehabilitating and educating their residents, and turned them loose once they’d graduated the program and had saved a substantial amount of money to afford living in the outside world. It was a highly successful program where the director was a former resident. Problem was this particular program was funded by the city of Clearwater, with some outside donations… so eventually the program got cut. If the many many billionaires in this country all sponsored programs like this, and donated 10s of millions a year (chump change to them, and a tax write off), then we could have successful programs set up all over the country in the most population dense areas. Places like Baltimore, Chicago, LA, and NYC would obviously need multiple facilities like this. But billionaires in this country burn more than enough money to fund these types of programs.
I'm happy to hear about an example of these programs working well. I agree there should be more of them. What I don't agree with, however, is that billionaires are the root of the issue.
You're wrong, there's massive amounts of money wasted on mentally ill drug addicts. We have preferential housing for junkies & loonies. I met many people in Seattle, LA etc, who had homes in prime areas, paying little or nothing, often still doing drugs & crime. They also get special job placement ahead of many of us, loads of support groups & resources, constant sympathy stories...In Seattle there's vans that drive around to deliver the free needles that get left all over schools, libraries, parks. There's needle disposal bins in the college bathrooms. Democrats make billions off these grifts. I don't know who this clown is, but he's only describing Democrat policy that has been enforced for decades, & failed. If you live in a city that doesn't offer all these perks, just move to Seattle or any of the many cities that openly invite illegals, child abusers, junkies, etc. Los Angeles & others waste 10s of thousands of dollars PER person on the homeless every year, & homelessness only increases. "Free healthcare" is such a stupid phrase, I can't believe people even still say that. Must be nice to be so rich you don't have to understand how anything works, & you sit around deciding what's good for everyone. There is no group of people who gets more special treatment than the junkie-schizo class, who can violently assault & rob you with almost total immunity, while celebrities praise them & demand more stolen tax money. Now I remember why I stopped watching Rogan, because he's just another ivory tower lefty who has absolutely no idea what is happening at the street level. He's a filthy rich Bernie bot with lots of Hollywood friends who are confirmed pedos/rapists (Steven Tyler, Mike Tyson etc). GFY everyone!
Joe’s show consistently gives me hope and reminds me how big the middle truly is. Thank you for keeping everything connected to the everyday person, keep doing you and I promise the majority of this world will continue to support.

What y’all said at the end about how we’re supposed to help really hit home. Just yesterday I left the store and an organization was asking for donations. Shamefully, I instantly thought the worst. I tried to find an out and yet as our conversation went on, I realized that I wasn’t being a man of my word, I wasn’t doing what I say I would do in this situation. Long story short I gave them $, and I left feeling good that I helped, and good because I learned something about myself that I can now work on. We are supposed to help others, we should feel a personal responsibility for our fellow man, thank you both for your messages
I went through a bad bout of depression and existentialism. (22 years long) What saved me was a simple question that this video touches on. "Am I my brothers keeper?" Fundamentally, I do not think humanity can survive without the answer being yes. If the answer was no, I don't think civilization would have lasted the 5-7,000 years that it has. Helps me see humanity in a slightly better light.
This flies in the face of the entirety of evolution. By and large it is a dog eat dog world. You can try to make yourself feel like some kumbaya "let's work for each other!". But reality will persist none the less. It will be the case that people that believe in collective action, not individual responsibility, will lose.
I tell my kids, “Neighbors help neighbors…and neighbors have a responsibility to try not to put themselves in need of their neighbors’ help. Both things are true.”

Except he is advocating for the government to be the solution, whereas joe is helping people out of his own pocket/on an individual basis. Why would the thing that is causing the problem be the solution?
@@lookupverazhou8599 That's the point. The thing that's the problem being the solution. In the conversation they mention how is it that the U.S. government has 4 billion for Ukraine but not for it's own people. I think the point is that they can be the solution but choose not to be. I don't think specifies that the government in particular would fund the program. I mean his idea has plenty of flaws in it. But the sentiment is there. We can fix the issues we have. But our government is greedy, power hungry and corrupt.
Yeah but it'll end up like the foster care system but for adults and the government on a state and federal level will find a way to embezzle t that money and break the system. You'll get a few success stories but not enough to justify the embezzlement.
@@mhug86 Probably. This is why my stance is that the only real way to fix our countries current trajectory is to take money out politics. Politicians now get into politics to get rich. Not to bring new ideas to the system in order to solve problems.
Money will put things into action to solve the problems (obviously not all problems). Most humans are not programmed to work for free unfortunately, so money solves this problem.
Money is an abstraction of resource commitment. Committing resources is exactly how most problems are solved. Obviously there's a caveat about how those resources are used, but literal peanut brained libertarians like to pretend money is fundamentally incapable of doing anything ever.
Why not ? Do you think foreign aid is just charity ? It's not...for some countries it's used to obtain better trade deals. This man is right in everything he said in this clip. I’m in the Army, and it’s disgusting the amount of neglect and wastefulness that exists. Even when a Soldier is hungry for more food they are told they can only have so much. Yet, the leftovers get thrown away after the day is over. SMH
They have to get rid of all the previous fiscal year cash before then new fiscal year starts. We had a company commander order a shit ton of unit jerseys because if he didn’t we wouldn’t get the same or more funding next fiscal year. The military is a racket.
Thats called dicipline lol. isnt that what you preach? Pretty sure every soldier gets the calories they need. It might be less than they WANT but thats the damn point.. Soldiers are not supposed to be fat and greedy.
Don’t even get me started on the amount of equipment and gear that gets thrown away because it’s “no longer issued” but totally fine and could help a small town or city that needs every bit of help
If you live in a city with a lot of homeless as I do you know this is ridiculous. The people vandalize, litter, threaten people, overdose, and shit all over my city. It's not okay.
I find it odd people want to house unstable individuals next to families, just any abandoned building will do. Nope, put them in a facility far away from working people and children going to school
I have worked at 2 different shelters. I have also been homeless more than once. Addiction, mental illness, and mental illness from addiction is the majority of what you'll see. Met a lot of people that don't value money the way society would like. They all believe strongly in bartering. Everything has a value to someone. The heartbreaking part is how many predators you'll cross. The usa desperately need more psychiatric facilities and outreach programs to help along the way, Clean living halfway houses, and both mental health and dependable sponsorship programs (with more than just self accountability). Once an addict always an addict. 13 years clean but every day is day 1.
@Blake Brown, don't buy into that once an addict always an addict mindset. That's telling your spirit man you could fall into it again. Don't be a slave to that. You're now clean and free to help others. God bless. Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
It is profitable to keep them homeless. They’re doing a great job. People that are in the homeless business don’t want it to go away. It shouldn’t be a business. Much like prisons and the medical system it should not be for-profit great idea but the human heart is far too dark.
@@robertcampomizzi7988 the funniest part is that you're defending the drug-addicted and not the poor. They don't have money because they spend it on the very drugs that prevent them from doing work. Isn't that something? Imagine defending the people that hitchhike from the Midwest all the way to southern California for the very purpose of doing nothing.
@@robertcampomizzi7988 not all of the homeless do drugs correct but they have friends that tempt them . Or if they're not into drugs then alcohol. They're not decreasing in population. Just the opposite. Oh and the homeless population from what I seen at least, are a younger age than one would expect. Also not all of them lost homes as some politicians like to say
The author of “Ishmael” wrote a book on tribal business where he said something interesting I will never forget: the homeless are tired of programs, they just want out of the system. Programs are what did them wrong, and programs will not fix their problems because every fix is just another program waiting to fail them. There’s a bigger story about people’s choices and how most programs leave little room for choice or individuality whatsoever. Programs are more about adopting a group identity or conforming to a specific process. Homeless people don’t want that, they want to be individuals with individual rights and more freedom of choice. That’s why they don’t want a job or to live in a box. But, again, even this explanation is batching all homeless people into one basket just like the programs that seek to fix them. There’s more to the story about this that we just aren’t getting, and it’s a symptom of the society we have inherited.
@桜 ᴹᵘᵏᵘ⁴² 👽 well it is important to make help AVAILABLE for when and if people want a change. But the point is, homeless people aren’t a monolith so coming up with a singular program won’t work. Some have serious mental health issues, but not all. Some have addictions, but not all. Some WANT to live outside of the system, in the elements, on their own terms. Others desperately want to ‘get on their feet’. Many have minor children. Others are disabled. Some are vets, others have zero work history. Same goes with criminal history, you can’t expect the same outcomes for a program if one has a massive rap sheet vs another with a clean record. Especially now in 2022 there’s such a wide variety from people who’ve been outside for decades to others who are living in cars with their families, recently priced out. Someone will take advantage of the help, so we need to have a program in place

I find it odd people want to house unstable individuals next to families, just any abandoned building will do. Nope, put them in a facility far away from working people and children going to school
In my city homelessness is a big problem. The city has come up with so many ideas to deal with the homeless problem, including taking older buildings and renovating them to provide homes, this does help people but we still have a problem getting people in the shelters. Unfortunately alot of people on the streets here have drug problem's and do not want to go into shelters because they are limited to a curfew and are not able to do drugs freely in shelters . I believe in getting help in a facility like this gentleman described with different floors of different kinds of help within one building is plausible and a good investment .
That’s the exact issue where I live, one of the highest homeless populations in the country, yet tons of empty shelters and places they could go but are required to not have drugs, get a job by certain time etc
A lot of people don't want to wear their seat belt, but we have laws for that. Shouldn't we have laws to help people with drug addiction even if their drug habit is telling them not to seek help?
What about the 6 million homes and apartments that are CURRENTLY VACANT because no one can afford them because banks like BlackStone have manipulated the housing market? We don’t have a shortage of homes in this country, we have a shortage of ethics and morality. But hey, that’s capitalism baby!💪 Profit over people. 😉
getting rent prices back down to the rates of income the majority make would be a good start. The cost of living has been 400% but income increase is under 10% in the past 30 years. It's not just addicts there are families who can't afford rent, utilities, food, medication and what it takes to live more and more becoming homeless daily. The elderly in the past 30 years can't afford to stay in the homes they have owned due to cost of medication food etc and higher personal property taxes. Our governments control on the economy and laws along with corruption has killed half of Americans in this country. When an already out of control government wants more power over us we have got to stand as AMERICANS and say no more.
@@anderseckstrand7033 well if you owned a rental house would you want to rent it out for free to a crackhead? Not saying you’re wrong just saying there’s more to it than just “there’s a house and a homeless person why don’t they live in that empty house”
The simple answer is that not all problems can be fixed with money. And solutions that sound simple often aren't feasible in practice. For example a big problem with homelessness and mental health is that in most states you can't force someone into treatment. You often have no way of finding out if someone is trapped in an abusive household etc.
That's EXACTLY what I've been preaching for years! I'm on board 100 thousand %. However, what do we do with the abusers? I know if I had a safe place to go to get away from my abusive mother I would have left with just the clothes on my back, running.

These discussions are welcomed and needed. The situation is substantially more complicated than the avg person assumes. Mental health is not always an easy fix. Drug abuse also a difficult one. And behavior. The remedy is fixing someone's will to do better...while they've free choice.

What we (worldwide) need to do, not just to alleviate the homeless problem, but society as a whole, is help create industry in deprived regions, where the skills of individuals can best be used and met. Individuals who are at risk of economic and social deprivation need to see that they have the hope of a future, rather than the defeatist potential we're shown is the only future. We need to listen to people's hopes and dreams, look at the skillsets they already have, and both encourage and inspire the want to push further past the boundaries that society tells us are our only avenue in life.
We have 10,000,000 open jobs right now. No one wants to work. I’m seeing huge gas station chains closed in the middle of the day due to staff shortages
Great solutions here and in theory it would work but if you’ve ever worked firsthand with the homeless population you’ll understand a good number of them are not interested job training, jobs, mental healthcare, detoxification from drugs, and many times not interested in housing. They may see it as someone trying to control their lives and they like being able and free to do as they wish when they wish no rules. To run a facility like that will require rules which would not be okay to a lot of homeless people. Many of them make a good income living on the streets and when you try to offer an alternative they don’t want to hear it. Now there are a good number of people and families who would benefit from these programs but they would have to make a choice for themselves and that takes a lot of inner motivation and strength sometimes. Simply put you can’t FORCE people to accept help. Many don’t want the help you offer. They want your help want how they want it. I’ve even had food thrown back at me because it wasn’t how they want it. You have to understand they are not children and don’t like being patronized from people who want to save them. I’ve been heartbroken seeing this happen and going the extra mile to help and fix and seen it end tragically even when all the help was in their lap. I walk away knowing I did my best but at the end of the day accept you can’t force someone to help themselves. People also want their dignity of choice even if that choice means tragedy for themselves.
Legit bro, yes dude has good intentions with his words but he’s putting way too much faith in humanity lmfao. Yes there are a lot of homeless people who face unfortunate ass circumstances to put them in that position but already being homeless has put them in a DISADVANTAGE in being able to put the same working output as a normal member of society. Which is what the government wants, and the whole concept of this idea in the first place. The government has to money to eliminate this issue but they’re not going to do it because, guess what, it costs money lol. and they’re not gonna get that back with this plan

Ali is on to something, resource management makes more sense that monetary system, we need to change economy to focus more in real resources than made believe numbers.
I used to be homeless. And let me tell you , they want to be there. I saw so many people offering hot meals and beds to anyone who would GET OFF DRUGS. its all they want. theyre just not human anymore and you need to stop trying to help the hopeless. as all might once said "help those you can reach"
Having a society that with tons of homeless, and millions who would be if they missed a single paycheck, is exactly what the plan is. A populace barely getting by doesn’t have much headspace to realize how they’re intentionally being kept down, NOR have the energy to rise up, when they have to feed themselves and others, if they’re lucky.
Thats a great point. many many people over the ages have realized that also. most people are surviving. not living. and your very lucky and in the minority, if at the end of the day your able to get enough sleep. let alone do anything about your situation. thats MOST people
100% Homelessness and poverty are a feature, they're not a bug. Desperate people are forced to commit crimes to survive, ensuring the modern day slavery labor force in the prison system remains stocked.
Going off of Ali’s idea - there are government funded centers, typically located in the same office spaces as Welfare, that offer the majority of the resources he mentioned. I was homeless at 17, going to homeschool (ironically), and a year+ worth of credits behind to graduate. A friend’s mother drove me to one of these offices one day and had me sign up. Over the next 2-3 months they helped me get my GED by creating a study guide, driving me 50+ miles 3 days in a row to the testing site, and paid me $200 once I passed, After that, they paid me $35 (plus free lunch) to attend 6 different 45min classes that went over things like avoiding debt via credit cards and cash advances, saving and budgeting, interviewing, and choosing a low paying job with benefits vs a high paying job with none. After this, they paid for & filed applications on my behalf to enroll in a community college. Drove me 30+ mins to the campus multiple times to take my entry exam and helped me apply for every grant and/or scholarship that I even remotely qualified for, and paid for my first books and TI-89 calculator. I eventually dropped out of the college because I didn’t find need for it anymore but today I work for Tesla (last 5yrs) and have around $250k to my name - I’m 27yrs old. Shout out to Noah Strong, my assigned caseworker - I couldn’t have done it without his dedication and support, you’re a fucking G! Best wishes to anyone that’s in a similar position - it takes patience and persistence but you’ll get there.
Deep in the stack this is getting thumbs up because it’s more common than most know. When is the will work only for cash/gold/silver some sort of immediate trade? Can’t imagine working 40hrs a week or more for a lifetime only allowed 2-4 weeks off a year. Meanwhile the government takes about 20% for taxes, SS, before you even get it. Then half of everything a month goes to rent, and utilities too if lucky. Freeloading Landlords, health, vehicle, disables people financially.

There's ALWAYS money to drop bombs or to lobby, or perpetuate the culture of privilege for the privileged. Even the (corrupt) charity sector does just enough to apply for funding, whilst providing laughable services which only seem to keep the status quo as things are. Many charities even have special programs to offer work to university graduates (who largely issue from a privileged middle-class background), whilst NOT having programs to offer work to people coming from the working class, who are too often vulnerable and subject to economical and social manipulation. My landlord tried this with out of his buildings. He ended up with garbage piles all over the yard, a bunch of people getting High in the house and his car was stolen… most of these people are beyond help if they won’t help themselves.
When he said we need to get people out of dangerous or abusive situations in order to help them grow.. I agree, however... when you think of plant life... (like a tree or a flower) you'll realize they're rooted. Literally unable to just get up and walk away. They survive by weathering the storm. Obviously victims of abuse should escape that life or cycle... But there's something to be said about resiliency, and I just want to make sure that as a society we don't lose that. Both the abuser and victim have a responsibility to evolve and grow through difficult times. And that goes for us, as a society too. If we applied that to our work ethic, relationships and of course our planet we'd be less woke and more wise 💙 All that being said..it was a great conversation and I liked a lot of the ideas, hopefully the right people and resources align 💙
That shit ends up being generation is the problem. That person abusing their kid and spouse? 95% chance they were abused themselves. Being resilient and less woke has nothing to do with it. It’s a learned behavior.
@@larsonfamilyhouse I agree, so much of how we act is a projection of learned behavior. From 1st hand experience of being homeless and trying my hardest to get out of it, it is almost impossible to achieve without some form of help financially..and in the current time we live in, and I have been told this by an actual case manager I had less than a year ago, that because I was a single male, with no mental health or drug and booze problems, and I wasn't a female with or without kid(s), or an illegal citizen I was unable to receive any help in any form, so back to the streets I got sent. Also the people that work for these "crisis centers" are so lazy and rude, it's like going to the dept. of motor vehicles...nothing is done..I have been trying again and after 3 weeks of back and forth and after they said all my applications were fully filled out and they had all the info they needed...I got a call saying my benifits were denied because I didn't fill out a form on line they had requested...what form? I was never told they needed this form, even their notes in their system that the lady read to me stated that I had completed the process. Doesn't matter, not their problem as I was told, I finally found the form filled it out and sent it in, but it's going to be weeks before I hear anything. But unfortunately for me, as I said up top, I'm a single male, with no mental or drug or booze issues, I just fell on hard times, so I don't see this ending well.
There’s also laziness I was also homeless for a year in California, and I made it out , you can do it if you truly want to you just have to stop being lazy and pick up multiple jobs

Man, I really hope you get out of it, genuinely. Maybe take a new approach, I mean what do you have to lose? I was homeless. What worked for me was finding a good woman with a steady job who felt because she was too obese that she couldn't find a partner. She helped me get back on my feet, in exchange I am a good and loving loyal husband. Now my life is good. And I've learnt that she is the right woman for me despite her looks, its what's on the inside that counts. We make each other happy and that's awesome. But if it wasn't for her I'd still be on the streets. Another key factor is that she never did drugs, so it was easy to avoid temptations and get clean.

The problem with Alis plan is the implementation. Theyre going to find it impossible to fix some broken people. They only break more and cant be put back together.
The problem is that most poor/homeless people aren't willing to do anything to help themselves.
I'm happy to hear about an example of these programs working well. I agree there should be more of them. What I don't agree with, however, is that billionaires are the root of the issue.

This is such an excellent and true comment

But hey, that’s capitalism baby!💪
Profit over people. 😉
getting rent prices back down to the rates of income the majority make would be a good start.
When Schulz is President, Ali BETTER be in his cabinet 🔥

"human beings are the most important commodity"
True, right now. But this will soon change. Then things will get really complicated.
Homelessness is a state of mind.
A state of mind will never be eradicated.

i just graduated in architecture, this could work and change the world.
The solutions to the issues aren't complicated, the difficulty is getting the people in power to care for the rest of us.
No one in the DC swamp is interested in fixing any of this countries problems. Too busy liquidating the country's assets, liquidating your assets and liquidating your children's future.
They are in fact, extremely complicated.
Majority of homeless would do nothing but waste or abuse all resources provided to them. People have to want to better themselves.
That’s not true
These discussions are welcomed and needed. The situation is substantially more complicated than the avg person assumes. Mental health is not always an easy fix. Drug abuse also a difficult one. And behavior. The remedy is fixing someone's will to do better...while they've free choice.
I literally live in a place like this. They exist. But a key element is that you have to stay sober. But they help to do that too.

@ Paul Sweeney Wish in one hand and shit in the other!

I had this same idea! Incredible! 💪
Over the next 2-3 months they helped me get my GED by creating a study guide, driving me 50+ miles 3 days in a row to the testing site, and paid me $200 once I passed,
After that, they paid me $35 (plus free lunch) to attend 6 different 45min classes that went over things like avoiding debt via credit cards and cash advances, saving and budgeting, interviewing, and choosing a low paying job with benefits vs a high paying job with none.
@Nah mate Same could be said of whites given the fact that you guys continue interbreeding.
@Nah mate nah, mate..
Homelessness is going nowhere because this system 🌐 cannot and will not believe that there are ppl that want absolutely nothing to do with it.

Perfect example of an issue way more important than climate change
There's ALWAYS money to drop bombs or to lobby, or perpetuate the culture of privilege for the privileged.
Even the (corrupt) charity sector does just enough to apply for funding, whilst providing laughable services which only seem to keep the status quo as things are.
Many charities even have special programs to offer work to university graduates (who largely issue from a privileged middle-class background), whilst NOT having programs to offer work to people coming from the working class, who are too often vulnerable and subject to economical and social manipulation.
Ali had some good ideas.
Correction there’s always debt that a future generation pays for.
This helps 10% of the homeless. Most can’t function in society that’s why there are where they are. Sad but true. They need continual assistance.
They need job applications and a kick in the ass !
Yup I’ve delt with many homeless people and 90% will never improve. Their mental health is that bad. They don’t care about money, housing, or jobs that’s why they are homeless.
I agree 100% I've had the same plan. You can have them work on the property garden as well. Teach them how to grow their own food. Maybe even small animals for food & growing mushrooms for food too.
