    I just traded in ‘15 Tahoe LTZ for one of these. They’re much nicer in person and in the cabin. If anybody is considering an XT6, go for it! It rides well, has great curb appeal and comes in at a much better price compared to its rivals.

    Really really tired of all black interiors. How did the third row seats feel? I sat in the third row of a 2020 Escalade-after 5 mins I realized my four year old CX-9’s third row is 100% more comfortable. In fact, for whatever reason, my third row are the most comfortable seats in the vehicle. Thanks for the review.

      @BlessedDiva65 I don’t like them because they are often hot when they don’t need to be. Also, it seems you can see every speck of dust. I come from a time when you had almost as many interior color choices as you did exterior ones. Does that mean I want to see green, yellow, and orange interiors again? Not necessarily. But it doesn’t cost that much to make door cards, headliners, carpets, interior trim pieces and dashboards in colors other than black.

      @JT-fq2bl Před 4 lety

      Maybe Cadillac can use the 2.7t inline 4 engine as a base, and they can use a 3 liter v6 turbo engine as a option. Combine this with Super Cruise will give people a reason to buy the XT6. As is, the XT6 is facing competition from its Lambda platform mates. Mary Barra needs to do a better job separating the brands. I don't mind the platform sharing, but she got to give these brands different engines to make these platform mates stand out among the competitors and with the conglomerate. I just gave an example for the XT6. Here's something could do for the GMC Arcadia. The Arcadia should have all safety features standard on the 2.5 inline 4 base engine. Add a creature comfort package as a option to the base engine. Swap out the 2.0t inline 4 and 3.6 v6 engines for the 2.7t inline 4 engine. Buick Enclave need all the safety features standard as well. And Chevrolet Transverse should have emergency barking, blind spots detection, and cross traffic alert standard.

    I’d personally go for an Aviator or an XC90 instead. Probably even an MDX, too. Really wish Cadillac got their shit together and put this on the RWD Omega platform. Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. It’s a 7 seat SUV and most buyers won’t care. But a RWD platform would open up the opportunity for more power under the hood to be more competitive with other luxury players in this segment, not to mention improved handling. But if you’re gonna keep the FWD platform, at least make some significant changes to improve the proportions and the weight balance. A hybrid powertrain would be a nice addition, as well, considering the Aviator, XC90, MDX, and RX L all have optional hybrid systems.

      I strongly believe that the MDX is one of the worst SUVs you can buy. Acura dropped the ball big time on quality. Interestingly, it has one of the worst predicted reliability ratings of any new car or truck. It just seems like a tacky attempt at being a legitimate luxury vehicle. Maybe the redesigned one will be better.

    • @williamlong2682
      @williamlong2682 Před 3 lety +1

      @@kingfarticusreturns6371 I kinda think the XT6 and the (now previous gen) MDX have the same issue - in a vacuum, there’s nothing overtly wrong with or bad about them, but in comparison with their competitors, they struggle to offer compelling reasons to choose them over rivals. At least the MDX had somewhat of a value proposition and the Honda/Acura reliability reputation (though predicted reliability has fallen, as you note) to sell on. Not to mention it was fairly athletic for the segment. But the new 2022 MDX looks pretty tasty for this segment and should address many of the previous gen’s shortcomings, even if that Acura touchpad infotainment has a steep learning curve. Hope Cadillac gives the XT6 some TLC in the future.

    Matt it's too bad that these INCREDIBLY informative reviews get a small amount of views when compared to the amount of subscribers you have on this channel. Its a SHAME! I have a idea though. Maybe you could open up a new channel and start with a fresh subscriber base, bring your core subscribers from this channel over there, do more of the different style vlog videos about the Mustang, but still focus on the reviews, and maybe with a fresh monitized channel you could get more people to watch your videos. And judging by the views on this channel, most people want to see the weekly updates more than anything initially. So this channel, "Matt Moran Motoring" will be weekly updates, or you could change it to, "SubaruWRXfan Automotive Weekly Updates" and the new channel could be "Matt Moran Motoring Reviews." It's sort of when Infiniti went to all Q's. Everyone knew who they were before, and then they rebaged. They went down hill. I want this to be CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. I want you, WE want you to succeed.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for the suggestion Joe, I really appreciate your support. I’ve considered starting with a fresh channel, but I figure I have an advantage sticking with this one since I do theoretically have 411k people that have these pop up in their sub feed. I have no clue where they’re all at though, it’s a mystery to me too lol. Even cool sports cars don’t do super well. People love to bash GM, but when I post the European cars everyone acts like they love, those reviews never get views either. I’ve thought a lot about all this in the past couple years since the growth has slowed (and have done videos talking about it in the past like the New Years video) and I think what it comes down to is that the things that I know would get views are things I don’t want to do (project cars, clickbait vlogs, etc). I just want to review cars but unfortunately most of my subscribers seem to be people that just want me to turn the Bullitt into a crazy race car. In the New Years video I implemented some of the suggestions (including Beth, separate interior reviews, POV videos, etc) and people still don’t watch in decent numbers. Thankfully my reviews have long lives and over the course of a couple years, most of them end up getting over 100k views eventually, and that allows me to keep paying the bills. I’ll keep grinding and if things don’t improve I’ll keep doing it as long as I can, but I’ll likely just quit CZcams if I ever reach the end of the road with this channel. Hope that day never comes though, this job is a lot of fun.

    • @joetaylor4096

      Matt Maran Motoring Thanks for writing this. I do hope that you are able to never stop. But hey, everything happens for a reason right! This might lead to better things. But If you leave, I would feel like something is missing on CZcams. I do think that it was a very smart move to go to the interior reviews as a separate video because then you can add up that with the driving review into a total view count, which basically is double the views since theirs 2 videos instead of one on the same car. I hope that is a noticeable change. And your not the only one experiencing things like this. I’ve been looking at Sofyans videos and their like 1/4 the views he was getting from when this pandemic started. Alex said in April on a livestream that he didn’t get a paycheck from CZcams in over a month. Its not only hard for the actual CZcamsr to go through less views because then you think no one likes you anymore, it’s also hard for the viewers because we can see the hard work going into the vids even though fewer people watch them. It might even be depressing for some. I just hope you and the car community stay alive and keep growing. I’ve seen a few non-car related people who make a separate channel and since that one is so successful they abandon their original channel. Maybe that would work? Thanks for listening!

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  Před 4 lety +1

      I really appreciate the kind words and support Joe. I think the car community is still strong on CZcams, and there's several channels that get huge views, get on the trending page on CZcams and all that, I'm just not fortunate enough to be one of them. It's depressing with all the hard work that goes into these videos, but it is what it is. Maybe someday things will improve, but if not I'll just enjoy doing this as long as I can. Thankfully channel-wide views are very consistent, so I should be able to keep doing this for a long time, it just sucks to not to see any real growth or progress, it's like running in place. I have been sitting on some new video ideas though that I may try out if I run out of press cars eventually, maybe one of those ideas will jump start things again.

      Hello Sir. I am a "gm fanboy" or frankly I like all auto manufacturers and don't think any deserve "bankruptcy" because options in the luxury segment are crucial. On your points of facts, I do agree with them and I don't think anything that you say is necessarily false. However, I think it's important to note that many individuals judge vehicles without actually experiencing them first hand, and this is a mistake. For instance, I sat in a 110k+ Mercedes GLS 63s the other day and found squeaks on some panels (right below the infotainment screen) and cheap plastic on others; without sitting in the car, one would never be able to observe these things. After sitting in the XT6, I found that yes, the interior was a let down in comparison to the price. However, quality was GOOD, with no squeaks or rattles. Materials were quality too (leather dash, stunning carbon fiber, alloy speaker grills, and very comfortable seats). While I agree that the XT6 falls short against some competitors, I think it's important to experience a vehicle first hand before you bash it so heavily. The XT6 is pretty good, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that the inclusion of the new Escalade's interior will make it a TRUE competitor worth the price. Have a good one, and feel free to talk about this with me more, I'm curious to see your other points!
