Hey everyone! Be sure to come back on 1/28 at 10am EST where we will upload a thorough review on the 2021 MDX along with driving impressions. Do you think this new Acura MDX will become the new 3-row luxury SUV king?
Hope the type s has at-least 600 hp.
Good job on the video.
This new MDX might become the 3-row luxury SUV king and Acura has done a splendid and commendable effort in stepping up game with their newest SUV; but lets see what will Lexus bring with their new upcoming Lexus RX-350. Plus, the Genesis GV-80 will continue to be a formidable contender. A comparo between the 3 should be awesome.
When are you going to review an advance model?
It's a '22 and will be waiting for that full review 👍🏽
The Acura does have third row chargers but only on advanced models.
But no air vents for the kiddos back there. That is a bummer.
Mazda CX-9 has that and rear heated seats on their grand touring models. Mazda honestly offers so much more.. luxury cars are for logos
Wait for the MDX V6 Turbo coming this summer.
It will probably be less expensive than that shitty Cadillac too..

Man, this thing will a legend
The GLE and X5 are in the same class as the MDX. This is a 3 row crossover segment.

I am honestly glad that Acura has decided to keep a naturally-aspirated V6 in this new MDX. Nothing wrong with four cylinder turbos especially the fuel economy you can get from them but there are people just like me who prefer a larger more refined better sounding naturally aspirated V6.
So over turbo 4s! Not everything needs a small 4cyl that does not offer the refinement of a smooth NA V6.
@@hellkitty1014 agreed! I regretfully sold my V6 Accord for a 2.0T A4 and after 3 months i’m going back to a J series! I love the DSG but have had enough of the 2.0T life.
I’m more old school in engines too. That’s why when I was shopping for a sedan I chosen a v6 Camry over the others w a 2.0T or 2.5T.
No matter how quick those turbos may be, the feel and sound of a naturally aspirated v6 just can’t be touched. And the v6 will outlast all the turbos
@@naveenthemachine Hence why I bought my 2020 civic K20C2 before if the new civic becomes turbo only like the crv and accord. The camry is a great car, especially for not having a cvt even in the base trim.
They’d be fools not to. I don’t care what anyone says, there is no replacement for displacement. You simply cannot have a four-cyl pulling all that weight! One reason why I won’t even ‘look’ at Volvo’s anymore.
MDX 100%. Now that it’s finally updated it crushes the caddy and a lot of others too imo. Especially appreciate the n/a V6.
Except the XT6 is getting 310 horsepower or 20 more than the MDX.
@@normt430 more horsepower doesn't mean better. Ive driven both and the engine in the Acura is way way more refined and with the new honda designed 10 speed automatic its very responsive with that power train combination. Honda v6 over gm v6 10 to 1!

The MDX is absolutely the hands down winner here, I love it. As a current RDX owner I'm going to be the first one in line when my local dealer has them. I've been waiting for this. I’d like to see you compare this MDX against a Genesis GV80.
Oh yes. That would be interesting. My money would be on the Genesis though
I think it comes down to preference. The GV80 is obviously more luxury oriented like Mercedes and we can see that Acura is trying to look like a luxury performance brand like BMW. Preference would be my opinion
@J20 “diesel” engines caught on fire. Acura also wasn’t on top when it came to reliability. Time to do current research and stop living in 2008
@J20 Remember that Honda has the same problem. I suggest you stop trolling.
@MAGA To get three rows of seats on the GV80, you need the more expensive 6-cylinder version.
The 4th generation mdx is such a huge improvement compared to the disappointing third generation mdx

What was disappointing about it? You didn’t own one I’m sure. Y’all just get on here and say anything. The 3rd Gen MDX did everything that it needed to do. Acura played it safe and they sold many of them, can they have done better, absolutely but so can everyone else

I bought the XT6 premium luxury right before the year’s end for 52k. I’m loving it and it’s a really good car at that price. It has a premium feel, the sun roof is a must and the WiFi is a nice plus. (I would absolutely go with other options for the 70k mentioned here. But for the mid 50s, you can’t beat the brand and quality for what your getting)
Go test a MDX it severely kicks Caddy ass. My family has both
Wow! This is a video I was waiting for. I always wanted to see them being compared by him.
Was hoping for more comparisons, great job
Yes I’m coming for the MDX!
I love how sporty the MDX is. I also wish they would’ve done these tail lights on the TLX it would’ve looked so much better
Awesome review and finally feels object journalism. I love and own 7 Honda/ Acura products currently, and over 30 in my lifetime, I've owned other manufacturers vehicles too and looking into few. I will be getting new MDX, and TLX, etc. Living in northern Ontario, I don't have any issues driving all year even in snow storm and heavy snow fall weather I use both SH-AWD vehicles and my civic or 2020 accord 2.0T. even my 2020 Odyssey touring.
Thank you for the review, Sofyan! There is no question, MDX for sure!
I really love both exterior and interior of Acura, very luxurious. Their V6 n.a engine is great (proven), and also their own 10 speed auto transmission has been doing great on their other vehicles. Also, big thumbs up for Acura providing both traditional Crafted and Advanced digital instrument cluster. I hope they do the same thing for the upcoming TLX Type S.
Acura nailed the interior and technology in the MDX...love the screen animations and overall feature set.
Cadillac: Puts 20 year old gauges in XT6
Also Cadillac: Puts TV in Escalade
Hopefully the bring the fully digital gauge cluster & a bigger center touchscreen for the infotainment system
They are gonna update this xt6 , ct5, and ct4 interior
I love the fact the even the highest trim level of MDX offers 2nd row bench seat configuration. I wish other mainstream 3 row SUVs offer bench seat as well.
I would pick the MDX all day long!!
Finally a look at the MDX cargo. Much better over previous models. The opening of the cargo has always been so small, which was the main reason for not sticking with Acura after selling my 2005 MDX. This new model might stand a chance!
What did you buy after you sold your 2005 MDX?
@@peterpalmer7014 Honda Passport Touring. It was a more practical decision. I don't need the 3rd row and couldn't justify spending nearly double when I didn't really love anything out there. It's nice, does the job. Biggest complaint is the driving assistance SUCKS. Basically useless.

Thanks for the comparisons. Like both designs. Although the MDX rear looks Mazda like it gave me a slight feel for the same hatch on my old 98 Acura RDX. The MDX looks exotic and the Caddy has a really nice brauny elegant stance.
Good job on the self camera skills
I can’t even say XT6 without laughing....
Needs more ads! Cmon, those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up.
As an owner of 2017 MDX Advance I'm glad to see the new MDX being so good. Still I'm pretty happy with my old MDX and I'm not looking to change it anytime soon. If I could pick one feature on the new MDX that I'd like to have on mine that must be the wireless Apple Carplay or maybe the HUD.
Always enjoy your reviews. The electronic parking brake and gear shifter are different to me but I know that's the way the industry is going. Would love to know how it is in daily experiences with shifting/parking/reverse etc.
All GM products will have you in the shop for every reason you can think of! Plus their value drops like a rock in the middle of the lake!
Their value does plummet, but I can't agree on the reliability standpoint. My wife and I both have driven Honda products for years, but my old 2006 Chevy Suburban work truck has never let me down... Bought it off lease in '09 and has almost 180k on it now, never misses a beat.
I totally agree, with the price drop but I don't worry about that when I buy a vehicle, my concern is reliability and I don't have any problems with GM, I'm a fan of GMC, still riding a 2011 Acadia Denali with 180,000 miles, no major problems, regular maintenance, runs great!
I’ll take the Acura! That interior is amazing!🔥
Thx for great be👍 Do you know byany chance what platform/model Acura shares with mother company Honda? Thx for info in advance👍
U r always detailed. Kool
the MDX by far has consistently been the best vehicle in this class
MDX Is the best choice to go with in this comparison with sporting looking car and Is like having a boyfriend lol .
I ordered a 2022 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury in January and will be taking delivery in a few weeks. I think as far as value for dollar and available premium features both SUVs are great. I owned a 2015 MDX which was a terrific car for me but I just felt like going in a different direction this time.
Is that a nespresso button in the cadillac right below the infotainment screen? where does the espresso dispense out of?
Caddy is 70k ?? Lolol
Gm must be getting high again 70k
Agreed, love the MDX.
Despite your proclamation to remain unbiased it showed through nonetheless. The Acura is slightly ahead of the Cadillac in some features not far superior. For example, it had the tacked on iPad style infotainment display, whereas the one in the Cadillac was much better integrated. The Acura was also missing a boatload of features that were available on the Cadillac. I also prefer light interiors. Stepping into the Acura is like stepping into a black hole -- especially the 3rd row. Finally, removing part of the car without any place to store them is anything but advanced.
I also prefer a vehicle with a hidden rear window wiper. Not a big deal but on their top of the line SUV.....
That MDX looks great on the outside. Big improvement.
Acura looks better inside and out! This will continue to be the Best selling 3 row Luxury suv!!!!
Is it better than a Lexus SUV?
Of course
Cadillac just freakin sucks. Why do they think their name is so valuable that they overprice their products specially with everything else out there. 🤦♂️
Cadillac has extremely poor management. They don't know how to price their cars and their naming convention is just plain stupid.
It has something to do with paying Union workers, plus all the bigger heads @ GM...The money has got to come from somewhere, albeit GM mainly depends on China sales & their pickup trucks.
Cadillac used to command prices. Oh how it has fallen
They don’t actually charge the list price. The high sticker price is so the dealer can discount it, roll negative equity into the new car, and still get financed.

I was going to wait for the MDX to arrive, but glad I went with the GV80 as it has more of a luxury feel/look to it.
Would buy the MDX...but Caddy looks good
Would take the Acura over the Cadillac any day. Just better in every way..
Better in every way? Did you even watch the video?
When the prototype of the MDX came out, i like it a lot but now looking at the real one more, i prefer how the outgoing MDX look better.
HI Sofyan, Love your reviews. But we'd really like to see how this new MDX compares to the new Genesis GV80. The buyers looking at the Acura MDX are more likely comparing to the GV80 vs the Cadillac. Can you do some comparisons to the Genesis when you do your driving review of the MDX. Which is more luxury, sport, handling and drive? I'm sure the V6turbo would out match the basic V6 of the MDX but then Acura has Type S coming soon. Would like your thoughts between these 2 as you've reviewed both.
I just don't understand Acura trim levels. What a mess.
The trim levels are really very simple. The fact that you don't understand is more of an implication on you, not Acura.
So lovely to watch Acura’s renaissance

I really like the MDX, but I feel like they need to add more standard features to the lower trim levels (i.e. 360 camera, heated rear seats). It's strange that a lot of nice features are only on the Advanced.
Wireless charger and backup camera spray washer are nice standard features they offer as opposed to its competitors 👍🏼
No. That only increases the costs.
@@cesarreynoso9773 both of those make sense too as features
@@cesarreynoso9773 I didn't know it had a washer for the backup camera. That's really nice! I think I was just thinking that if a Honda Civic Touring (highest trim) has heated seats an Acura MDX should come with them without having to upgrade to the highest trim.
@@kevinabraham2029 yeah I was quite surprised too, I get what you’re saying but heated rear seats are a luxury and not essentially needed which is why it costs more for that added option, the competitors of the MDX do the same... but I see what you’re saying that’d be awesome if it did.
Again in USA you drive cars from the future...We are barely into 2021 and you already drive cars from 2022, well done you are surely ahead of the world
I think the MDX and RDX in A Spec and in the red colour look spectacular.
A sporty drive and handling and luxurious amenities make either a winner for me. :)
mdx for sure
The instrument panel on Aura is sick can’t wait to see what they’ll put on the new civics
For me test drove the 2020 RDX A spec and advanced and came away wanting a bit more... A spec was just an "all show" package with the black trim and cooler wheels along with aluminum interior bits. The Advanced didn't look as "cool" but had all the niceties (HUD, Adjustable dampers, spare tire, kick to open tailgate, etc..). I really am excited to see what Acura does with the RDX type S if they can combine the features of the Advance + cool looking Aspec + a better engine performance. It might be a real winner depending on the price point. I also found the dark blue color (not a spec super man) to be very nice but it needs a mocha/brown leather option instead of the standard gray.
Question; is the Lincoln Aviator considered to be a direct competitor to the MDX?
