Theorists, it's finally time for a Five Nights At Freddy's Security Breach theory. Well, a post-release FNAF Security Breach theory. Don't worry, I will be covering EVERYTHING I can find. The biggest thing I want to talk about today, however, is Gregory. The young boy that we play as throughout the whole game is a big mystery and I intend to solve it! Who is he? I will admit, something that always bothered me about when Freddy took Gregory to the first aid station was that when they got there, they never actually did anything. Vanessa shows up, then they leave. Gregory is never treated for being “broken”. So……

I’m rewatching these theories (spoiler alert for Ruin) and it’s interesting how Gregory’s stutter at the beginning of Security Breach is the same stutter we hear when Cassie encounters the Mimic pretending to be Gregory at the end of Ruin. I love how it’s spot on, but it also makes me think more into matpat saying that we don’t know if Gregory is his real name/identity
Conclusion: William Afton is goddamn the most annoying, selfish, and indestructible character in FNAF.

The fact that this old Freddy Fazbear's location is under the Pizzaplex is connected to that FNAF book where it was said that new Freddy Fazbear's locations are built on top of old ones, so Security Breach might be more connected to the FNAF books than we expected.

Isn’t it weird how in the end when Gregory wants to leave with Freddy and Gregory says “Freddy, if I leave now, nothing will change, will it? There will be more disappearances.” And Freddy responds with “Yes. I am afraid that is correct” meaning Freddy knows about the disappearances

You can actually see when Freddy's malfunction occurs on stage in the intro that Chica shows genuine concern when Freddy collapses. You can see she steps forward and looks at Freddy as a human would do if a friend had fallen over proving in my opinion that she is indeed friends with Freddy and hence Afton.
well, there's no doubt that the glamrock animatronics were actually friends and safe for children (i believe that when they are looking for gregory, they just want to bring him to vanessa and not hurt him, until he destroys them at least), i believe Michael doesn't have total control of freddy because Freddy already has his AI as a personality, but he can still influence his actions and sometimes talk for him (like when you find the blob)

@@piki.mp4 I’m pretty sure Another reason why Freddy can’t be hacked is because he is in safe mode, which could very well be Michael mode. And I’m pretty sure his battery isn’t that small. I believe that battery is the safe mode battery, that’s why when it runs out he kills you. I believe his “second wind” is actually him loosing safe mode power and switching to his regular AI. And somewhere down the line of running trying to get Gregory he got charged somehow, not fully but enough to restart safe mode and stop him from killing Gregory. But that’s just my theory tho, don’t take it for fact.

Here’s what I think: I agree with Micheal possessing Glamrock Freddy, but I believe he protects Gregory not because Gregory is The Crying Child, but rather he reminds him of his late younger brother, and by defending a defenseless child that reminds him of his brother, it’ll be his final redemption, preventing a child’s death from his father’s creations

I feel like an interesting thing that matpat should know is that the Sprite for the princess in princess quest is named Cassidy in the game files. So princess quest could be telling an entirely different story than we've been thinking.
It wouldnt make sence since princess quest storyline is like help wanted, or that name is filler, or its unused name...

Room 1: 2 Torches
Room 2: 5 Torches
Room 4: 7 Torches
Graveyard: 5 Torches.
So, if you only take the torches from inside, that's 14 Torches. 19, if you include the Graveyard.
Because the first two torches in Room 1 were already lit. And if we started with 2 tapes, in Help Wanted, I'd agree with you... But instead take into account, that this is Cassidy.
Each Light could indicate another death, caused by Afton's actions. Think about the numbers, here. We have 12 confirmed possessed animatronics: Puppet (TakeCake), Freddy Bonnie, Chica, Foxy (MCI), The Funtimes (4 more), Golden Freddy (Bite Victim/Cassidy) and Afton. Then, there are the children from the SAVETHEM minigame, that die in the FNAF 2 location... Phone guy... And Michael. 19 lives, all said.

The maze was underground, according to what we see, in SB. The fire was I the labyrinth, but the pizzeria. The pizzeria was perfectly fine, might have even been sealed off

I always felt pretty shitty about how Michael did so much to redeem himself, going through horrible pain while everyone he was trying to help was also trying to kill him, and he still kept going. So him possessing the suit of Freddy, leading a scared child through a situation to the end of his younger brother that he regrets so much, seems very fitting to me. It feels a lot nicer than him just burning in a fire after going through so much pain. I like to think he redeemed himself and had a bit of a nicer go at life for a while with Greg before he finally moved on, knowing he managed to at least save someone like his little brother when it was his fault in the beginning. Full circle, y'know.
His voice is also very fitting for a Michael Afton character.
This is a nice theory, but it doesnt seem to have much to back it up. Not being controlled by Afton can easily be explained by low power, low power means Fredbear cant send or recieve wireless signals from longer distances which explains that.

So interesting thing with the "you're broken" part, Someone was digging in the unused files (that was left in the game for whatever reason), originally Freddy was supposed to say "Your arm is cut badly" and "You're bleeding"...But something about the rating so they cut that out, which I find weird considering this is a game series talking about living corpses and dead kids.

Real quick, an idea I had was that the reason that Gregory reacts weirdly towards Vannny is because of something we haven’t seen since sister location. The sound discs. If you recall, the sound discs (MatPat covered it a while back) can disorientate someone’s (possibly something’s) senses. And the sense being modified the most? Eyesight. And if it was Afton that created them, could Vanny theoretically do the same? But that’s just a theory, a small hypothesis I have that I hope gets covered 🤞🏼

I think this is prob more towards the truth then what matpat said because honestly, I don't see any ACTUAL proof that Gregory is a robot at all besides the fact that his origins are unknown. Everything matpat said about him seems like a stretch like how come no one noticed Gregory before the game started. How was he in that room above the daycare and he didn't have any passes or anything before he met Freddy it feels like you can poke so many damn holes.

It's not really "outside the box" the second Freddy said "you are broken" I immediately thought Gregory isn't a human. Glamrock Freddy being Michael is a new thought that I havent heard before though.
Another supporting fact of this theory is the color change of Freddy’s eyes. They where blue in the very beginning and then they change to a similar color to that of Gregory’s after his malfunction on stage. If Michael Afton is indeed Freddy then we can assume that he would have the same color eyes as his younger brother, which would explain the color change of his eyes

If Gregory was already living in the Pizza Plex, wouldn't he have known the layout better? Also, I feel like if someone like Gregory were to live in the Pizza Plex, not only would they know the layout but also have the vents unscrewed; different passageways; and cut-throughs, unlike how Gregory treated the Mega Plex in the beginning.
I’m gonna operate on the assumption that he just showed up at the pizzaplex looking for a place to stay. it explains why he’s unfamiliar with the layout and why Freddy only shuts down at the start of the game
I'm thinking that it could be related to him never having a security pass until he gets the first one in the game. Like maybe he's only rarely able to get into certain areas due to random circumstances (i.e. sneaking behind someone into an area, a door being left open, etc.). That could pose a lot of limitations on his knowledge of the place's layout and his ability to create shortcuts in the building.
Remember you need a PASS for all the areas
Another thing that bothers me a bit is the fact he was in suns room. When he meets sun he says "New friend" if sun was familiar with Gregory he would've known who he was but he has no idea who he is
If he is a robot/animatronic, his memory may have been glitched some too. So it's possible he _did_ know the layout, but has forgotten.
Mat, on a Reddit post someone realized when Freddy booted up at the start of the game it said "SAFE MODE" which means it disabled all plugins or 3rd party content.
If all of the animatronics were hacked with a plug-in that caused them to become bloodthirsty, Freddy booting in safe mode would disable it, so I think Gregory climbing in Freddy, malfunctioned the hack that took them out of safe mode keeping Freddy friendly.

Would make sense given he has scan eyes. And is a more intelligent robot. Given a kid doesn’t weight the same as “oversized birthday cakes and piñatas” I can imagine the system stopping the update of the evil software as it detected someone using the stomach opening. Since computers do stop updates if it feels someone is using the pc.

The biggest flaw with this theory is that Roxy can see and talk to bits through the walls because of her eyes. If Gregory was a bot, she would have no issue finding Gregory no matter where he went.
To be fair, there do seem to be a lot of times where Roxy agros on gregory, and you don't even see her until it is too late.

From what I’ve read, Roxy’s eyes turn on only during races, so that she can see all the children during the races on her track, but they are disabled other than when those races start. That’s why when Gregory does the race she sees him pretty quick, but other times she cannot.

I was honestly expecting Gregory’s true identity to be revealed in a big plot twist at the end of security breach. I was surprised that none of the endings go into any detail on Gregory’s identity.

Yeah I also don’t agree with this theory either. There’s some flaws in it, but the only thing that I can truly agree on is that he’s just a random homeless kid. But then again, just a theory, so hopefully we can get a definite answer or theory on it.
I can get behind the Michael possessing Freddy theory, but yeah no, theres just something off about Gregory being an animatronic or being CC. I think the relationship could atleast make sense if Gregory looks like CC and that causes Michael to pop through. That could explain why when he gets Roxy's eyes, he makes a comment about Gregory looking different. I dont think it's that hes seeing an animatronic, I think Michael is just realizing that Gregory ISNT his brother. But he still sees it as a way to make amends. Using gregory as a sort of stand in. A chance to protect who he couldn't before, even if it isnt the same kid. A sort of "if I help you now, I'll feel like I fixed everything" type deal.
If Michael is Glamrock Freddy, why does he constantly ask questions he undeniably should have the anwsers to? He asks Gregory for his name, despite the fact he should know it if Gregory is supposedly connected to the Crying Child. Sure, let's say he was double checking, still doesn't explain why he never refers to Gregory as his brother in any way, or act like he knew him previously. Freddy just simply doesn't come across as Michael, his behavior and manner throughout the game don't suggest such a thing. Also I just don't believe that Gregory is a animatronic either, it just doesn't feel/sit right to me. I have one issue with your theory about Gregory, though it doesn't disprove the theory entirely, it means you made an assumption with a much easier explanation. If Gregory was living in the hidden room in the Daycare, then why did he not know about the Daycare attendant, considering that room opens up onto the same balcony we see the attendant jump off from. The attendant would literally be standing in the same room with Gregory if that was the case. Also, if that was one of his hideouts, why does he need a Daycare pass to access the rest of the Daycare? Shouldn't he already know about a way to sneak in, since he would have been needing to move in and out of that room prior to the game?
The better fitting explanation is that it's one of Vanny's hiding spots. We know she has several areas she stays and hides in through the entire Pizzaplex. We know she's been tampering with the animatronics and security bots, just like the ones we see disassembled in the room. And we can assume she's the one that's been moving the missing arcade games around. We even see one (Princess Quest 3) in a hidden room that's not only tagged with Vanny's name across the wall, but in which we also see her standing later in the game.

The reason why Freddy said his vague response about Gregory being broken. He was originally meant to say that Gregory had a very bad cut. The following dialogue is:
Gregory: "AH! My arm."
Freddy: "I am detecting blood. You are injured."
Gregory: "Don't worry about it. It's just a scratch from the vent. It's fine."
Freddy: "Your arm is cut badly. I will take you to a first aid station."
This is kind of a semi-censorship Steel Wool Studios did, probably to make the game kid friendly which doesn't make sense, because despite not having blood, Security Breach is still rated T for Fantasy Violence.

I do not believe that Gregory is a robot, but Freddy being a new vessel for Michael would explain his instant willingness to kill Vanny dressed as a bunny on sight in the different endings. And the others being possessed by bullies would explain their behaviors, such as Roxy's severe mood swings and narcissism, Monty's violent outbursts, and Chica's overly self-indulgent tendencies. One does not simply program a robot to need to hype herself up before a show and burst into tears in the mirror when things go wrong, especially after hours when no guest will ever see it.

Yeah I don't believe that either, mainly because of these things: Bandage on his face, Freddy brings him to a medical station even though he said "you are broken", he eats ice cream in one ending and in a different ending he runs crying with tears pouring out. That must be some extremely realistic robot, actually android at this point if that's the case.
obviously she wasn’t programmed like that.. they would’ve been programmed to just have their own personalities and that just so happened to be hers. It’s in her hands from then on. She’s just like an emotional teenager lol
@@Michael2137. in the games files, there are unused lines from Freddy that said that Gregory had a cut on his arm and was bleeding(ie injured or broken) which caused Freddy to take Gregory to the medical station.
@@catwithaglock Im no programmer, but I feel that if you can create actual sentient personalities in a machine, you would install parameters that prevent self-destructive habits like jumping in front of cars, eating garbage and smashing furniture.
If Gregory was a human, Roxy should have been able to see him inside Freddy's chest cavity. If he's a robot, she could have mistaken him for Freddy's endoskeleton.

I thought I would make a note on something I noticed. In the “best ending” the story concludes in a comic book style featuring Gregory, Freddy, and Vanessa sitting on a hill. In the finale ending however, Freddy and Gregory are sitting on the same hill but in 3D instead.

I think that if there were no other media that hold canonical lore then the games WOULD explain that. The books allow for the games to not be as packed with lore so that the games aren't as jampacked as they would be if it wasn't. Scott- is an interesting worldbuilder, and definitely didn't plan for there to be "still creating" this world. So it gets all jumbled and sort of icky the more worldbuilding goes on, yet it has to because of the questions not answered. If that makes sense?
That's not strictly true. The death of Charlotte is in the games, in both FNaF2 and FNaF6:PS. But it would be a lot more of a hazy connect-the-dots without the books filling in the missing labels.
