After all the fanfare the last few weeks with MatPat's FINAL Theory, I almost forgot that we NEVER covered Poppy Playtime Chapter 3! Sure we did a playthrough over on GTLive, but this is our first theory on the new chapter! I think there was one major question left in everyone's mind at the end of this chapter and it's about this new shady Ollie character... what exactly is he up to? Honestly that can be covered up by the fact that he seemingly knows what we're doing at any given point throughout the chapter anyway, but you're right.

Not necessarily. The Playcare had cribs in the bedrooms and I recall there was a poster that implied the orphanage also had babies in the system. So at least a 10-year-old would still retain there high pitch voice.
But, then again. I'm not fully keen on this, because I still have a much earlier question regarding the orphans:
If either the Prototype or CatNap are implied to be protecting the surviving orphans in the factory, where did they hide them and how could they possibly survive when there is a severe shortage of food?
Maybe that’s where poppy was taking us at the end of the chapter! If there’s more down beneath everything, I’m thinking it’s some kind of protection thing or something accessible for escape if things went wrong

I’m amazed at how well Tom eased into the host role. Ironically he matches Matpat’s tone and mannerism perfectly. His voice is nice to listen to and the way the video is edited keeps the spirit of what made Matpats videos great. Honestly, well done Tom, I hope this new job will serve you well.

I think the tone and mannerism is similar because Matpat has been reading scripts that Tom wrote for a while.

Honestly I’ve been dreading watching a film theory episode that doesn’t have matpat in it, but I serisuoly love Tom and his voice and his cringy dad jokes
Something else I'd like to add onto the Ollie theory (even though I doubt anyone will read this)
When you first enter the Playcare near the start of the game, Ollie's comment on it is "The kids used to live here." The only explanation for him being there is that he was part of the experiments so does this line suggest that he isn't a child? Seems pretty Prototype to me.
Also, very excited to see more from the new host of game theory!! ❤
Gonna throw out one extra beta map nod to support this: In the alpha versions of the Home Sweet Home map, the voice on the phone used to be deep and kind of creepy. This voice was swapped out in the final version and replaced with Ollie's voice. Now, it's possible the voice could have been a stand-in, but it's worth noting.

No offense to Matt, but I never really liked his content as much as I liked Austin's. Austin was phenomenal. I hope he makes a return one day. I just realised aswell, it would make sense for rich to be the player character as we have seen he seemed to have worked in a few places throughout the factory, the storage place, the playcare etc so it would make sense that the player character knows his way around everywhere

While I might never get used to not hearing MatPat’s voice at the beginning of every episode, I can wholeheartedly say that Tom is doing an amazing job. I’ll miss MatPat, but I am also excited to see how the channel will grow from here with the team!

You can tell Tom's been partially writing the scripts for a while, Matpat and his scripted cadences are very similar

Tom sounds so natural just as MatPat was in terms of speech patterns and script layout. It really is like listening to British MatPat, and that’s something I noticed from the very first few seconds of the video.
