Not anymore. Scott Cawthon got cancelled for giving money to a politician he liked, and now he's not involved in the FNAF series anymore.
Back then, yes, Scott even approves some of Mat's theories even helping him to clear out some stuffs.

@@corruptedbeastvoid If I remember correctly, there was this huge trend of rhyming nicknames in the middle ages. So they would shorten a name William->Will and then change the first letter Will->Bill. That version just remained popular since then.
There are quite a few examples of this, such as Bob (Robert), D ick (Richard) and Peggy (Margaret).

Mat is just giving an explanation he thinks is best with what we know, even if it doesn't completely fit. I don't even think he fully believes everything about these theories, he's just waiting for evidence to come up, and possibly find a better explanation.

@@silentoccasion4359 The books and the games are both canon to the franchise, but exist on different continuities. Think of it more like parallel dimensions so to speak. Drawing connections from one to answer a question from another; that's how lore like this works. FNAF by far isn't the first to do this, but it's the only one I've seen where the fandom is so against doing so despite it being the creator's original intention.

along with gregory eating the freddy ice cream and Vanessa eating the ice cream cone, Michael could be somehow be connected to the fact that all thats left of him is his head, possibly referencing back to the foxy plush missing its head and the fact that he always hid behind a foxy mask

I always thought that the reason Gregory has no records in the database is well... because he's shown in one of the endings to be homeless. Literally sleeping in an alleyway inside of a cardboard box.
I feel like that's the simplest answer to that question and the one most strongly implied by the game. Furthermore, I don't really see much evidence for the Gregory being a robot theory apart from anything that can't also be explained away either as some sort of stylistic choice or by a much simpler, not secretly being a robot, answer.

we’ve been so desensitised to the outro that we forget ;p
I always thought Theories were hypothosis's that have undergone such rigorous test that they are nearly, if not completely, disprovable.
You will find many things we believe are facts, such as gravity and plate technoics are in fact theories. Because scientists can be very confident in their answers with well documented and supporting evidence. But unless we get God or whatever created the universe to confirm our answers, like a teacher grading a quiz, we can't say for certain. After all, much of science evolved from incorrect assumptions or that things are much more complicated than we originally thought. Like quantum mechanics.
So yeah, Matpat 100% is giving us a theory because the evidence is there, even if that theory isn't confirmed.

There's a reason why we have Funtime Freddy and Circus baby, but not Molten freddy and Scrap baby.
In Fnaf SL, all the funtimes get scooped, and we see their shells still intact in the scooping room. It wouldn't be hard to imagine that Fazbear Entertainment kept a few of the original shells, and have them for display in the display cases in rockstar row.
The thing I love about fnaf, is that Scott leaves so much stuff empty for us to make our own theories. It’s like making it our own, while it’s still his story.
I honestly trust Mat here. He puts up some great evidence and while it's confusing as heck, it feels at least close to the intended plot

Honestly surprised that Matt didn't just say "Vanessa is Stage 4 Elizabeth/Charlie bot."
I really love the theorie and hard work going in there and I don't want to say anything against it... But as an artist I cant ignore the fact that Gregory's blue shirt is floated by the light of a sunset, which would automatically make it appear more purple (the rest of the image is also floated by orange/yellow/reddish light because of the sunset). But that could also be done intentionally to resemble the purple color from his father.
Hey, I was listening to the voices of Baby and Vanessa and realised they sounded VERY similar, looked it up and yep! They're the same voice actor. Adds even more to the evidence of them being the same character.

I was fine with everything in that last theory except for when he theorized that gregory was living in the pizza plex. This was easily disproven due to gregory freaking out at getting trapped in the pizza plex at the start of the theory. Regardless though, great theories!
I'm fascinated by your fan theories here, MattPat. Not a fan of FNaF's, they actually scare me, but to watch you draw conclusions with the lore is super entertaining. OH! Did want to point out that you might be onto something with Vanessa being Elizabeth. Did you realize that the voice actress for Baby and for Vanessa is the same person? And her voice as Vanessa is a dead ringer for another famous killer- Amanda (Shawnee Smith) in Saw. I had to look at IMDB to be sure it wasn't Ms. Smith.

Regardless of whether these characters are *literally* the Afton kids, I think MatPat is 100% about it being a symbolic reunion. The crying child got bullied by animatronics, now his stand-in gets to conquer them mano-a-mano. Michael threw his life away getting justice for his siblings and other victims, and now Freddy gets to help them in michael’s death. Elizabeth never got the chance to live and become a person at all, so Vanny has to be saved from brainwashing to get a second shot at growing up.
It doesn’t all have to make sense logically, only emotionally - which it does.
Maybe that is why there is three stars only when Vanessa, Glamrock Freddy, and Gregory escape the Pizza Plex

THIS right here backs matpats theory by a lot. plus, why would they put a random picture of a kid, a robot and a woman in the truest of the endings? it doesn't make sense. it's HAS to define something meaningful, maybe to wrap up the (final?) game of the franchise. It doesnt make the most sense for them to casually highlight the three main characters sitting on a hill towards the sunset, in a game where the afton kids (including MIchael) speculated to suddenly and literally go missing and unmentioned at ALL

I hate it. We need new characters like glamrock Freddy and Gregory. Steel Wool should not be going back to old, completed characters anymore. Michael, crying child and Elizabeth should not be brought back. They had their stories. This new era of fnaf should be treated as such.

That’s probably the worst mindset to have in the FNAF community. Take every theory, even MatPat’s theories, with a little bit of doubt. Wait for more evidence to come out, see what everyone else thinks, etc.

Having watched the next episode, I love how Fnaf has reached the point where ‘Hiding in an arcade cabinet that can only be reached by finding a hidden, disguised and completely optional door that will only open if you use the camera item to flash a bunch of scattered cardboard cutouts without the game giving you any reason to do so’ qualifies as ‘hiding in plain sight’

I wanna put my little theory into Gregory being a replica of the crying child as Gregory is fearless and reckless. And from a theory after fnaf 4 with the bite of 83. The crying child had his frontal lobe of his brain bitten off and scientifically when a frontal lobe is removed the person does not feel any type of fear and if Gregory is the crying child then this links to why hes go reckless and unsceard by the animatronic is because of the bite of 83 and that piece of the crying child life was build into the animatronic version of him also known as Gregory. Just a little bit of lore I thought of for yall to think about :D

The whole reason the franchise is still alive and has over 9 games, and more to come, and yet still gets searched by an active audience is because of the unending mysteries and overcomplicated lore. It's quite successful, there's no denying that.
I’d also like to point out that Heather Masters, the VA for Baby, is also the VA for Vanessa. Some might say they are just reusing actors, but clearly the series has the budget now to get different actors if they wants to, so just another piece of evidence to support Vanessa being Elizabeth.

I’d like to point out from the first of the book trilogy too, when Charlie and her friends are running and hiding from the animatronics (haunted by angry children, or agony I can’t remember) Roxy’s hook hits her leg and she bleeds. I personally think, helping your point about Micheal saying “you’re broken” in fnaf 4, the reason why the shade of yellow was close to the shade of Williams voice but not the same is because Mike looks so much like William that the animatronics couldn’t tell the difference, so the shades are symbolic of how they may look similar but they are different.

Bro how is the cut line of Gregory bleeding is a reason Gregory’s human? 💀 Charlie bled in the Novel trilogy, and SHE was a robot. In fact, as I’m typing this, the graphic novel for the Fourth Closet is right in front of me, and in fact, Charlie bled both when Elizabeth ripped out the Ella doll inside her AND when Charlie activated the killer endoskeleton Henry used to end himself. Basically, robots disguised as humans are still capable of bleeding.
